  1. I hear you, but teams will tweak something, even if it's just working harder at blocking those shots. Leaving our snipers space to strike from Duncan's office won't do it.
  2. Good point. And you have to think he will also be a big help in recruiting.
  3. Yeah, Berg has been a PP sniper
  4. You have to think teams will attack the points and wings more, as some have done in the past against our PP. You just can't let guys like Gaber, Mac, and Blake tee it up.
  5. Finishing as a 1 in regional pairwise might have added value this year, as there will be very very good 1s. You always have to beat the best to win a banner, but eliminating one game against a BU, BC, or WI (or DU) can't hurt. Should be a great tourney this year. D is always big in the tournament, but there will be some racehorse hockey.
  6. The Man speaks the truth.
  7. It will be extremely interesting to see how the boys play against Miami. This last weekend particularly, they concentrated on skating hard and playing responsible defense, even outside their D zone. Playing against Miami, will they be tempted to lose a little of that discipline and show some of that old carelessness? These guys have been playing at a very high level all year long, so I am not implying that they will become sloppy. But it would be human nature for them to lose some of that urgency that made them so good against DU. There are probably half a dozen teams that have the offensive talent UND has, but how would you like to try to defend against this team, up and down the lineup? One thing: I would tell my players to stay the hill out of the box.
  8. Not just that. He's done a hell of a job for a program most of us wish to see exceed, so long as it's not at UNDs expense.
  9. You're right.
  10. Berry is NCHC COTY at this point.
  11. He can pull the trigger like . . . Bochinski?
  12. Virg has seen his share of highly skilled Sioux hockey players
  13. I think it's great that this team has learned how to play a tight defensive game without taking many penalties. It seems to come from not getting into situations where they are chasing around their D zone. I also like that they generally avoid the cross checking/face washing displays around the net after the whistle has blown. That behavior has always struck me (in the last 15 years) as being more or less a meaningless display anyway, since they are not going to fight and everybody has full face protection. Despite not showing those behaviors, they are still doing a good job of keeping bodies out of Ludvig's line of sight--moreso in the last several weekends. One down side of not committing very many penalties is that the PK is not getting as much real-game practice. You just have to hope they get game-like workouts in practice. And continue to improve of faceoffs to minimize PK time in the zone. A bunch of the teams they may face in the tourney will have skills similar to DU.
  14. I agree. Perron will be big for us. I think maybe he is going through the process of being coached how to keep his shifty offensive game from being a defensive liability. Learning that one giveaway at the wrong time can cost a game. HIs skill, quickness, and lightening trigger will be a big deal, IMO.
  15. Our D really steady on the blue line. 4 shows willingness and ability to bring the puck out when they need him to. How the staff got this D unit to play this well is a real credit.
  16. Hell, we'll be lucky to get in the tournament.
  17. They will have to bring that level of play to get close. The top 8 teams in this year's tournament will be hella good.
  18. Anyone notice ol gfhockey didn’t cheer when UND won?
  19. You heard right.
  20. Hope Montgomery has a good weekend.
  21. I don't think Harvard benefits from a lot of hockey bias, does it?
  22. Interesting weekend in the B1G
  23. with the snipers we have with extraordinary stick skills (and speed), I'm surprised our 3x3 results haven't been a lot better. Gotta be able to defend too, we've learned.
  24. Its a piece sung by the Ledge Choir beginning when the opponent scores its second goal.
  25. May the Pipe Gods be with us.
