You were. Criticism is good. It keeps us honest. But what I see from the predictable panic after a problematic loss is that there is criticism of the result and damn little actual hockey analysis. Comes across as more fan hand wringing than hockey criticism. But I've come to expect that, so I probably tend to see it when it's not there.

Not sure your point is entirely valid. Berry took a team to the title game and won, plain and simple. They were certainly talented, but Berry doubtless had a role in recruiting some of them, and the Sioux have lost plenty of tourney games with big time talent. On your last point, I don't know Berry personally, but he strikes me as a pure hockey guy and not a schmoozer. Now watch what he does when he leaves the bench. That said, these guys understand the need to win the last game. If they get canned for failing to do that after getting a fair chance, I'm not gonna feel sorry for them. It's the risk they run for the reward they want.

If it were me, I'd be inclined to pursue my own path--fill my own shoes. Good luck to him. I'm sure his immediate and extended family are proud.

Those teams he was on with Greg Johnson et. al didn't win a banner, but they sure could put the puck in the net.

I have no problem with a nice bonus for leading the team to the best conference record in the best conference in the country. A whole lot different than winning the conference tourney.
