  1. We may need to find 2 tickets to the Saturday Michigan Tech game on 1/12. Please respond if you may have some available.
  2. Nothing a pin-stripe suit and a mullet wouldn't fix.
  3. I agree, but I'm confident it will be glossed over and ignored. To me, and enlightening example of this is the reaction to this over on GPL. They have a thread over there about the name issue, and naturally there are points of view on both sides of the issue. I posted a link and some quotes from this viewpoint over there last week hoping to see how some of the opposers would react to it. It was completely ignored and glossed over. I sent it to Nick Coleman at the Star Trib but I'm sure he dismissed it as well. Still, I very much appreciate Fool Bear's effort to get a different opinion into the mainstream.
  4. If anyone watched the Boise State?/Hawaii game the other night you have to wonder why Hawaii gets away with using "Warriors". A white guy dressed up and whoo-hoo'ing in "native" fashion, similar chants by the fans. All acceptable by the NCAA but not Fighting Sioux as used by UND. It's reasons like this, and as mksioux pointed out, the crappy nickname we are likely to be stuck with if a change is made, that makes fighting this battle worth it. Not to mention the freedom of speech issues, etc.
  5. The loss is on me, as I once again watched at Sensers. I have a fairly poor record there. Kind of like Sioux first-half starts. Nice to meet Sioux 7>5. Thanks for the offer of joining you at your table.
  6. Hak's comments: Real ugly game for us. We were poor in the first 2 periods. Couldn't get our legs under us. Fortunate to get out to a 3 goal lead, and probably deservedly gave it away. Liked that in the 3rd period we didn't give up much. We were the better team in the 3rd. Not ready to buy that we showed rust because of the layoff (was he reading my post?) in the first 2 periods. We should be physically ready to play every game. Didn't have a lot of jump or energy in our legs. Got a little comfortable in ALL phases of our game from Phil on out in the first 2 periods. Real critical we understand what type of game this was considering it was an 8-3 win. Genoway went out early in the 2nd period. Have had an initial eval but don't know how serious it is. Doubtful for tomorrow. Will get a good eval tonite. Thought Trupp was good, effective through the whole game. He scored a puckhound type of goal.
  7. Redfrog is going to be busy tonite!
  8. I was thinking about this at the end of the 2nd when it appeared, by reading this thread, that the Sioux weren't really playing their game. Haven't we heard coaches say that sometimes it takes a couple of periods for a team to get back in the groove after a week off? Of course, it's a lot easier to recall that now, than it was 20 game minutes ago.
  9. Did TH just say that Genoway hasn't been on the ice for a while? I hope it's not a serious injury.
  10. Oshie gave him some "How's She Goin?" on that one!
  11. Thanks, should have thought of that. Was downstairs watching the big state FB game here in Mpls.
  12. I finally got on it but I can't log into the audio broadcast again.
  13. I like that Hakstol is not guarding his comments quite as closely has he has in the past. Hearing him say he's ticked off about Comley saying Miami is a much better team is fun to read. Hopefully the team is ready to play Friday night. It always seems to me that you don't quite know how a team is going to play coming off a bye week.
  14. No ice time or almost no ice time? I wonder if they were trying to trade him so didn't want to risk him getting injured. It's a curious situation.

    Help!

You're right, I'd forgotten about that goal.
  16. After today's viewpoint in the Herald, Hennen needs to get Archie Fool Bear on.
  17. I don't know if it will do any good but it is sure nice to see a viewpoint from within in support of the nickname in a public forum. We know the support exists, but it's nice to see it come out in public in contrast to the the Nick Coleman's of the world who get away with writing whatever they feel like. And I mean "feel", not "know".
  18. Wouldn't that be the kids that sign the LOI?
  19. I took an issue with your comparison. You expanded my point yourself. I hate to sound like Hammy but don't put words in my mouth.
  20. I think there is often a fair amount of straight talk about potential recruits over there, especially by some posters who have more knowledge than others.
  21. The Trib hasn't printed any of my responses to any of Coleman's pieces in the past so I doubt they'll start now but I did find it therapeutic to respond:
