  1. 90% are opposed? Who's "checking facts" now? Archie Fools Bear's letter would disagree with this, at least on a micro scale....
  2. The juniors have 3 years of tough starts and big finishes. How much of that becomes inately ingrained (i.e. learned behavior)? I don't mean anyone is teaching them this. What I mean is that in some sort of way it might have developed into a habit.
  3. I can be wrong in two ways. Better clarify your preference.
  4. As fun as it is to see MN struggling, this weekend wasn't a great representative of what their team should like like the 2nd half of the season. They'll be returning some talented players who want to be there, and Lucia will have a more talented and full roster to work with. That, along with my belief that they will ride Kangas the rest of the way, will make them a formidable team. Michigan Tech demanded some respect this weekend too. CC might struggle a little bit with their recent losses, and there are teams underachieving (MN, UM, others?), plus some solid teams in the middle of the WCHA race right now that are going to make things very interesting. Curious George has got to be happy with how things are going for him.
  5. I predict a split. It always seems tough for the Sioux to sweep in St. Cloud. St. Cloud has a dangerous offense and will score some goals I think. The Sioux will need to bury their chances this weekend.
  6. I don't question the heart, especially Hakstol's. But maybe there are things he can do to set a different tempo. Not saying what is right or wrong because I'm too far away to know. But just as a devil's advocate. I've read players who have credited Hakstol with keeping an even keel, and keeping the team from panicking, allowing them to regroup for some of these second half runs. Well, maybe the tone being set is too even keel. Maybe the coach needs to show a little more desperation or emotion at certain times. I doubt there is a lack of heart and desire, but maybe there is a different tone that could be set for the team. That said, I'll wait and see how things play out. The coach sees this team every day and we don't. He may be playing his hand this way because of what he knows about his team.
  7. I agree with you the Sioux made some bad decisions with the puck last night, but I thought the effort looked way better than what was given during the series with MN.
  8. Wow! Trupp had 8 shots. That's twice the next guy, Duncan, with 4.
  9. Without knowing what is going on behind the scenes, isn't it a little difficult to make those assumptions?
  10. gasboy will be happy because I didn't watch the game at Sensers (I have a VERY losing record at Sensers). Tonite I will not be able to watch at all, though. Won't be home...
  11. Trupp may not be done yet. He's getting his chances!
  12. Wow, I think that was an elbow, not charging.
  13. Heck of a goal by Martens. Kept the pass option open until the last moment and then snapped off a great shot. VV with a great chance and draws a penalty. BLOW THIS ONE OPEN, SIOUX!
  14. I like the moxie. The Sioux have played hard tonite if not flawless, and immediately the freshmen answer UNH's goal. Nice job.
  15. Can't be missing on any more opportunities now.
  16. Bina messed that up. Bina pinched at a bad bad time and allowed an odd-man rush the other way. Bina then got a holding the stick penalty. Not good.
  17. Thank God he's moving. Hmmm, how can he be knocked out, and then stay in the game?
  18. Sioux were too cute on the last PP attempt. I like the 2nd PP unit with Trupp and Frattin on it. That looked like a weak call on UNH. UNH trips Radke...
  19. Umile probably didn't either! UNH hits Finley from behind. We'll see if it's 2 or 5. Edit: Boarding.
  20. I will admit to wondering a little bit about putting Kaip on the first line, but he sure showed his value on that last shift of the period. Duncan carried the puck into the zone but was getting handled in the corner. Kaip came in and controlled the puck and worked it along the boards to Oshie who skated to the other side of the net, where he and Kaip did a bit of small area work on the boards. Great job by the Martens & Radke behind the net and Martens made a nice pass to Zajac for the goal. That was a great play all around, and certainly not a "gimme".
  21. Right before that last rush I was thinking Trupp is going to have a big night tonite. I stand by that.
  22. Trupp didn't make a good decision to center that pass on the SH attempt, as that allowed UNH to transition back with an odd man attempt. Sioux are making a few ill-advised plays with the puck but overall seem to be outplaying UNH. As I type this Marto does it too....
  23. Frattin MUST be smarter with the puck in his own zone. That was WAY too lazy.
