  1. I'd like to combine Schlossman's tweet below with Capitals' PR (link below): 7 of 390 players to reach 1000 NHL games are UND hockey alumni. 4 of 62 USA-born are UND hockey alumni. Its been a great ride to be a fan of UND hockey. Who's next? https://www.nhl.com/capitals/caps-today/
  2. So ... with Duluth losing and UND winning, we won't be hearing from gfhockey for a whole week, at least.
  3. They were always vulnerable after a crappy non conference record, with bad losses to low ranked teams: St Thomas and Mankato (2).
  4. I wonder if we will enter the portal for a PxP and an Analyst.
  5. Their legs looked gone. Perhaps a mile high bug? (or a 6000 feet altitude bug)
  6. The bubble is really starting to squeeze. Any NCHC bubble teams that lose tomorrow really need non-NCHC bubble teams to go down: New Hampshire, Cornell, Michigan, etc. Some good teams will get sent to the NIT start golfing come Monday morning.
  7. The whining from the lane of 10,000 excuses is so much fun … PS Don’t drink the kool-aid.
  8. According to Geno, “everybody on the planet “ (watches St Cloud hockey ie knows something about St Cloud that I didn’t hear because I was snorting my beer).
  9. Tipping back a cold one with Jake would be on my bucket list. Of all the on-air personalities, his stories fit right up there. Thanks for your time in the booth!
  10. That's the old fashioned version of NIL...
  11. To my (non-expert) eyes, Blake's neutral zone play, post-New Year, has gotten much more consistent: safer with the puck, while maintaining use of speed and hands to disrupt opponents. Same for defensive zone play.
  12. With 5 NCHC teams in the field - which would be cool if it happens - the committee could and probably would accept first round matchups between NCHC teams. In the above scenario, Sioux Falls would be (could be) UND vs UNO and UMtc vs CC.
  13. Home teams were 8-0 this last weekend of regular season, so I predict that pattern to continue.
  14. https://www.collegehockeynews.com/box/metrics.php?gd=96869 UND 11, ONO 9.
  15. I agree on matchups. UNO plays an "old-fashioned" Dean Blais style of high pressure (watch how many times three forwards are deep in the attack zone), which can result in a lot of "riding time". We didn't adapt as well last night as in previous games vs UNO. Holding them to 3 goals was fine, but if we're going to win tonight I think we need to score our "normal" 4. (Last night we had a lot of chances late to tie it but couldn't convert.)
  16. Playing Omaha is good prep for the NCAA's. The best teams will have seen how to beat UND (see the CC and Omaha games on video) and its important we react. Better puck support, and guys transitioning to be ready quickly to be a target for receiving passes from a teammate that's under hard pressure.
  17. NCAA tournament on line 2. They've won fewer games since 2017 than UND.
  18. Final score in Providence, BU wins 4-2. Providence drops from 10 to 13 in PWR. Crazy tight on and near the bubble.
  19. Providence 2-2 BU, middle of third period. Big PWR implications for both teams. Game on ESPN plus or NESN.
  20. Definitely some bone structure similarities, but nobody- and I mean nobody - has ever matched the intensity of Eades glare - I’m going to flatten you then score and keep doing it all game.
  21. (I don’t know the broader answer, but) they have a large MBA program, with lots of high paid alumni in the senior ranks of twin cities corporations. $$$$
  22. Count me as another at The Joe for a rout. Parity in 2024 is much tighter than 1987. although …. Hrkac may still pass the puck to himself off the back of net and head the other way after the forechecked passed. PS almost erased the bitter taste of watching the Sioux lose on a fluky goal in 1979 at the Olympia. One positive of that trip was seeing one of hockeys great old barns before it went down.
