Why even have a committee. If UMD would have been 15 instead or 8 I would say it's stupid to have them play UND. This is the national tournament and I want to see teams play different opposition. I dont think there is nearly enough interconfernce play to make the ratings system accurate enough to follow so blindly. The basketball tournament uses a variety of criteria and that seems to work out OK.

I didn't say they would. I said what I would do based on the criteria I prioritize for fairness. That means separating conference teams and not overly relying on a single criteria (NPI) that in reality lacks the sample size to be precise to that level.
