  1. Keep it up boys. Time to get that all-important 7-goal lead! Where's the dude who started the "why can't the other guys score" thread?
  2. Meyers also told TH that he (Hennesey) covers the "best team in the WCHA" right now.
  3. I've yet to decide which defensive pairing looks weirder: 5'8" Robbie Bina with 5'9" Chay Genoway OR 5'8" Robbie Bina with 6'7" Joe Finley.
  4. That's a little harsh. Seriously.
  5. ^ that sent a tingle up my spine
  6. I know as a card-carrying member here at SiouxSports I'm not supposed to put any stock in what INCH says, but I like their brackets in this week's 4x4: INCH 4x4
  7. The Bracketology piece actually lays out a scenario under which UND will go east, which looks to me to be a bit easier road to St. Louis. It really depends on how the Sioux do this weekend, and how the NC$$ decides to handle travel.
  8. I'd hate to even know your liver. jeeze, man, time to turn down the wick a little bit.
  9. (never mind)
  10. +1
  11. Especially if those messages are: UND 3-1 End of 1st UND 5-2 End of 2nd UND 7-2 Final

    WCHA Refs

Kinda early for that stuff isn't it?
  13. I heard from a fairly reliable source that a well-known Grand Forks businessman had (before the drawing) offered well into six figures to whoever won the chopper!
  14. Sorry for not reading the whole thread, but if my understanding of Pairwise is correct, the Saturday tie with Mankato was ideal for the Sioux. A win would've knocked the Mavs out of the TUC category, and all the UND wins against the landcows would've been for naught. Now cheer for Mankato to win out (unless they play the Sioux again, that is).
  15. The NAHL and USHL are just two different animals. The USHL has younger players, and sends quite more to Division I hockey programs than does the NAHL. The USHL has become a very expensive league; franchises once sold for $100,000; the price for an expansion club today is $750,000. (See USAToday article on the league Youngsters hoping to realize hockey dreams) If there is a USHL team coming to Fargo, the owners had better have deep, deep pockets.
  16. Or will the Jets move from the NAHL to the USHL? I agree, there's no way for both to coexist in Fargo.
  17. Some interesting things happening in the Pairwise. (I know, I know. Nothing matters 'til March!) But the Sioux make a big jump tonight with the win...to a tie for 6th (but more importantly, EIGHTH, so a No 2 regional seed rather than a 3. If the skating, passing and scoring they showed tonight is the real deal
  18. (shyly pawing the ground....) Well, heck What's a couple a beers when you're having fun! I say they start having team meetings at Judy's! Screw suspensions!!!!!!!!!!!
  19. I'm pretty sure Jutting was asking Dane Jackson where he gets his hair cut. I couldn't hear what Dane said back though.
  20. Um, Sioux-cia? I think your kid has been selling your tickets. He hasn't been there in a looooooooong time. You should maybe see if you can get any of the money from him! p.s. I think he needs the money to fix your house!!!!!!!!!

    O Sid

redwing, you should be commissioner. Honestly. I think you touched on everything that is wrong with the NHL. Scheduling sucks; need some teams back north (Winnipeg would be great). And do anything...anything!!!!...to get back on ESPN.

    O Sid

Bettman is a buffoon, however, had he not led the owners into the lockout, and forced the players into the new CBA, the league would be in huge financial trouble right now. The unrestrained spending by several team owners had driven player salaries to un-sustainable levels, bankrupting several franchises. The Pens have yet to recover. I won't ever accuse Bettman of being the best of anything, let alone the best commissioner in league history. But he just might have saved the NHL. And Sid is a tired old man who long ago should've been put out to pasture.
  23. Sic, The story has legs exactly because of who "they" are. JT and TJ are two of the most visible members of the biggest show in town (maybe in the region). Let's face it, Grand Forks and UND are media backwaters, so when something
  24. I agree with McFeely. Sorry, but he is right when he says Hak blew it. Further, The Forum has indeed publicly and officially sanctioned employees who break the law, even an "insignificant" offense. I'm not going to do the research for you, but I assure you when one of their highly-visible managers and/or employees gets busted, it is reported; in fact I'll go so far as to say the press in general goes overboard in reporting its own transgressions. This thread is a primer in homerism.
  25. For a minute there I thought this reply was directed at Siouxmama's post... But I didn't really want to go there.
