Sicatoka: may I have your permission to print and photocopy this to hand out to all the "Brian Lee s***s" people I've run into the last two years? This is perfect.

I'm with you on this dagies; the Sioux need to figure out how the Gophers closed the ice to their passing lanes and create some space or they're in trouble. Michigan first, of course; but gotta open up the ice somehow. Lucia's matching his top line (as opposed to a checking line) with the DOT line was genius.

It'll be interesting to see where the Committee sends everyone. The Sioux fall to 10, a #3 seed. Wisconsin almost claws back in (unless the bonus is something other than .003). And Denver is right there at the doorstep looking in. At Christmas time, how many of us would've truly thought the Sioux would find themselves here? Skate to #8 young men.

Actually the Gophs should be very proud of this win. They took our boys out of their game. Not a loss for the Sioux to hang their heads too long over, though. It just shows how good someone's going to have to play to beat the boys in Green.
-
Wheeler played a heckuva game. He saved the Gophs last night and made up for a so-so second half tonight. He got a lot on that shot from flat on his belly. Too bad to see a great game end like that.

Do you want an Amen on that? Amen! I think Porter is the embodiment of Fighting Sioux hockey. Class, hustle, skill. No wonder the Black Hawks are keeping their scouts' eyes on him this season.
-
Don't know what's been said so far... This is a whale of a hockey game. The Gophers have done a really good job taking away space from the Sioux... no room for the skaters to create. Penalty kill has been awesome. And what a game by Ironman Chris Porter! Can't say enough about that guy's heart. Really too bad someone has to lose this game.

Thanks for all the work on the YATC stuff, but there are just too many upsets required for the Sioux to climb above a #2 seed. If the favorites win tonight, and the Sioux stub their toe against Minnesota, they could find themselves dropping a long ways in the Pairwise. If the favorites win, and that includes the Sioux, they'll end up with a solid #2 seed. Just win, baby.

CC - like Whistler said MN - year-in-year-out, a winning program with loyal, vocal fans The new and improved St. Cloud with Bob Motzko. I think he's brought a level of class to that formerly classless program. I can't bring myself to give any cred to Wisconsin or Denver because I think their coaches are crass whiners. I wish Sandy would get something going in Duluth. Mankato - meh Tech - give Jamie Russell a couple years and they'll be there Alaska - too far away..... in every regard
-
Apparently the third-place game is just as important to Bob Motzko as it is to Lucia: this from the USCHO game wrap-up: SCSU cannot fall below a No. 2 seed in any scenario, and Motzko was waiting to learn more before making decisions on whether to rest players in the third-place game. "Next week is way more important than tomorrow [afternoon's] game," he added. Spoken like a true (ex)Gopher.

I know what you mean... cheering for the Gophers makes me feel.......... dirty But Wisconsin's ability to plug up the ice and slow down a fast, good-skating team scares me. Although as super as the Sioux looked this afternoon, it probably doesn't matter who the opponent is.

Oops! I'm preparing my formal letter of apology to the University of Mankato Minnesota... no, the University of Minnesota - Manka... no Mankato State Univ...... no.... Landcow U. It'll be in the mail tonight.

I'm sure the writer was blinded by the stunning atmosphere at the Landcow rink!

Man, I feel really badly for Sandy... he's had such a tough time getting his footing up there. The 'Dogs gave Jan Brady SU a heckuva test last weekend, and I was thinking they might have something positive going for them. But this is a very severe blow to that. Wasn't he coach of the year a couple years ago? And now it appears the whole thing is crumbling around him. Very sad. On a positive note, I see Junior Lessard was called up to the Stars this week.

Well, it's official now... all four talking heads on the Fox Sports North telecast have said the Sioux are clearly the best team in the country and should be favored to win the NCAA. Hex x 4! (They were all highly complimentary of the Sioux. Called them the most complete team they've seen all year.)

Anyone else hear Woog predict the Sioux win the Final Five? Another kiss of death moment.
-
I have heard from his father that TJ will stay another year... That being said however, I don't know how easy it will be for young man of such talent and promise to turn down a contract when it is offered April 8 in St. Louis. I mean, when the contract is sitting there on the table and all one has to do is pick up the Mont Blanc... I hope

Good lord those are some impressive statistics! Remember when any save percentage over .910 and a GAA under 2.20 were considered "world-beater"?
-
I don't think Dubay's pick is at all out of line, especially as it relates to the Final Five. UND's swept both teams above it in the bracket. His pick makes a great deal of sense. As far as the kiss of death stuff: hey, at least its a kiss.

Don't know if anyone's mentioned it, but after Duncan's goal, the crowd put on a pretty good "Hobey Baker. dah. dah. dah, dah, dah" cheer. Kinda gave me goosebumps. One other observation from Sect. 112: JT & TJ spent a lot of time with in pretty intense conversation before and after both games this weekend. Kinda like their reminding one another of what a wonderful time they're having playing this season. I can't imagine what this line would be like if everyone was still here next season! Goose-bumpy good!

We were so poor I had to cut the pockets out of my bib overalls so I'd have something to play with
