  1. I don't think Dubay's pick is at all out of line, especially as it relates to the Final Five. UND's swept both teams above it in the bracket. His pick makes a great deal of sense. As far as the kiss of death stuff: hey, at least its a kiss.
  2. Don't know if anyone's mentioned it, but after Duncan's goal, the crowd put on a pretty good "Hobey Baker. dah. dah. dah, dah, dah" cheer. Kinda gave me goosebumps. One other observation from Sect. 112: JT & TJ spent a lot of time with in pretty intense conversation before and after both games this weekend. Kinda like their reminding one another of what a wonderful time they're having playing this season. I can't imagine what this line would be like if everyone was still here next season! Goose-bumpy good!
  3. What, playing? Or posting?
  4. We were so poor I had to cut the pockets out of my bib overalls so I'd have something to play with
  5. A certain SiouxSports poster might be able
  6. Well, yeah, except for Lee and Finley. And Lamoreaux. And Porter.
  7. I still like that Manchester bracket... there's noone there who the Sioux can't put a whupping on. Maine is not even close to the team that swept in Grand Forks in October and MSU and NH haven't shown me anything special. It does su** that the Frozen Four can't be another all-WCHA lovefest through.
  8. Didn't Gordon Lightfoot or someone write a song to this effect? I'm sure you have it on 8-track PCM.
  9. I think you meant indulging. But no, I am perfectly aware some UND hockey fans have an adult beverage (or some other substance ) before the game. I just didn't want Goon to have to sit in The Ralph all afternoon by himself. That's all.
  10. ummmmmmm...Goon, I don't know how to tell you this pal, but the game's Saturday evening
  11. Junior Lessard anyone? Last I heard he was with the Iowa Stars.
  12. Not I sprig, but don't the bids to date seem ridiculously low? I'm almost tempted.
  13. Hey.... shallow is what we do here!
  14. This may very well be the most honest and profound post I've read here for a very, very long time. Frankly wish I'd strung these words together.
  15. Looks like I'm going to have to go along with Goon here: I see Wisconsin and Tech pulling "upsets"; top three seeds win easily. It would be nice to see Tech at the X this year instead of just their band.
  16. Is your name Carthart?
  17. I really think a #1 is out of reach. All the people we'd beat to win the Final Five who are above us in the Pairwise we've already pretty much cleaned up on this year. What we'd need is to have some flukey stuff happen out east, I think. We'd need two comparisons with New Hampshire flipped; and I'm too tired and way too old to try to figure that out tonight.
  18. You are correct! Jay? What's Diggler going to take home today?
  19. Lucia's post-game on the tube: he's NOT happy. "We WILL be working hard THIS week." Can you imagine the pressure he'd be under if the Gophers mailed it in again this March?
  20. Tech still up 5-3, 4:00 remaining
  21. Nice. Obscure for sure.
  22. I remember watching Grand Rapids win back-to-back in '75 and '76 at The Met! They had quite a run: 2nd in '72; 3rd in '74; 3rd in '77; and 2nd in '78.
  23. Kind of OT, but Roseau beat Moorhead 1-0 for the Section 8 title!
  24. I just realized this is the third-place game. Someone should've told the team they didn't need to work so hard.
