Western hasn't exactly done anything in the National Tournament either, so why is that "winning" so much better, considering they haven't won league titles either.
-
Would be nice to make it 5 and add Benak to the list.
-
If there was division, wouldn't they be at a totally different bar?
-
So, then once again, name the source.
-
So by your definition, every team that Hakstol had at UND had a divided locker room.
-
Just out of curiosity, do people think Matt Greene should have been Captain for UND and alternate captain for the L.A. Kings? I would argue he had many more questionable penalties, nevermind an off ice issue.
-
If he had an NHL contract he wouldn’t be eligible for college hockey.
-
Completely mind warped on them. Persson's been around so long that it didn't register, but should have remembered Hellsten because of the hype about his background and the fact that he wasn't playing over here first.
-
A lot of foreign flavor to that list. Wonder how many are looking to go the college route. When was the last foreign player UND had? We had the likes of Janatuinen, Hoff and Tomek, who didn’t make huge splashes, but we need to be a bigger player for some of the elite guys with BC, BU & Michigan having a pipeline to the NDTP. It is an international game, and we need to take advantage and get guys like Mietinnen, Borgstrom, Heinen, etc. Could use another Spirko ourselves.

Wow, after your ludicrous prediction earlier this year, I would cut your losses. You obviously haven't a clue.
-
Let's hope they are focused on making this a productive start to the second half of the season rather than a vacation from the cold. No distractions.

If Berry were to go 0-3 against Arizona State, a team that still has their club coach, that would almost seal the need to win the conference title to get to the regional.
-
Appears to be wanting to get exceptional status and play in the WHL.
-
I agree, but do wonder how the other players coming back feel about it. Would hate to see any friction within the team. I think Schmidt seems to have the guys buying in, so hopefully it’s a fresh start for everyone.
-
Why not test it already. How can Wisconsin beat anyone when they were nearly swept at home by Lindenwood?
-
You know as well as anyone that cherry picking scores then trying to extrapolate those results going forward isn’t a great prognostication tool.
-
Funny, UNH is the last placed team in Hockey East, but #11 in pairwise. Hopefully they lose to Princeton tonight.

2024-25 University of North Dakota Hockey Season

I think if we finish top 2 or 3 we would still have a pretty good chance at the tourney by pairwise. -
We do have the top forward and defenseman leading the USHL in points per game, so there is that. Add a Will Zellers and Sam Laurila to the likes of Boisvert, Perron, Swanson and Livanavage, and you’ve got a nice group of skilled guys.
-
Yeah, I just think we need Cornell to dip, and then if we take care of Arizona State it would help a bit.
-
It would be huge if Omaha, Denver and Arizona State could win tonight.
-
Are all scholarships full scholarships now? Do we know if he is the equivalent recruit of a Montgomery? Think we actually need some more grit guys like Cole Smith.
-
Yeah, should have never have taken a flyer on the likes of Shane Pinto and Cole Smith.

Where is the line of expectation for this program? Brad Schlossman points out that Pat Ferschweiler for Western Michigan just got a new contract through 2030, based on them making the tourney for the last 3 years, the first time in program history. Looks like they will most likely make it 4 years in a row this year, which is something Berry has never done, and Western has had a lot of turnover the past few years. Western reminds me of the style we used to be known for, by being fast hockey with an edge that sometimes is a problem because of penalties. Western does have the problem we have had lately though and have not done much in the tournament, and thus the question, what should the level of expectation be for our program compared to those of teams like St. Cloud and Western who both have had decent success?
