They have a ton of talent on this team, many that have set USA records, so the fact that he doesn’t play a ton isn’t surprising. Noticed he was out there short handed on a 5 on 3, so they must trust him to be responsible. I can see how the top guys set records, since they play all the time including when the game is well in hand. Putting them out on the power play with two minutes left with a game well in hand seems a bit much.

http://collegehockeyinc.com/articles/2015/09/10-need-know-facts-about-ncaa-hockey-scholarships.php Has it changed since 2015? I’ve always heard they can split them how they want. -
Watched the U18 game last night, and noticed he coasted quite a bit. Hope that is not what we can expect. Those kind of tournaments don't really give us an accurate picture of success at the college level. Those guys will obviously make impacts, but don't know that they would dominate, especially their freshman year. Most of the big names won't last longer than two years in college. You would have thought by his performance Wahlstrom would have ripped up college hockey. We have seen the same kind of thing with the World Juniors, guys who absolutely dominated but didn't really do the same after the tournament.

By the time they are ready, the next big thing will come around. Would be nice if they can come up with something creative to keep fans engaged. I always enjoyed the little trunk monkey clips and stuff like that. Someone getting creative with new video clips would be nice.

Thought you were talking about Kennedy. The way he has cast aspersions on North Dakotans about being racist to further his agenda leads me to believe diplomacy isn't his greatest asset, and no doubt the "We can sue you" line is probably true, even though he can't remember saying it.

Hak to coach up until the Frozen Four, then Berry from there.
-
That’s true. Would think he would do it, but maybe he didn’t feel like he needed to save face.
-
As much as I think something needed to be done, I wish they could have given him a way to save face and say that he enjoyed his time here with his son, but he wanted to explore other avenues. I hope he takes good memories from here in the Championship season.

Would guess Anderson would be more likely than Wolf for UMD.

I’m shocked that Mr. Pessimist can’t see any reason for optimism! Of course you couldn’t see the bright side when we were making it to the Frozen Four every year either, so not sure anyone would be surprised. -

You look at how Denver outplayed UMass and the territorial advantage we had against Denver, and I think you have reason to be very optimistic. I do think guys like Mismash, Adams, Weatherby and Hain all take steps forward, and with our defense it isn’t going to take a lot to change some outcomes. If our power play is worse, someone will probably lose their job. -
For sure, there isn't a forward that they have that strikes the fear in you, or that you say is a sure thing NHL top six guy, but they do what they have to do to win.

Duluth earns some of their breaks as well. Let's give credit where credit is due. Don't want to be like some of the gopher fans that were saying how cheap we were when we won the National Championship. Don't know where they got that out of the game, but I guess they are looking through a different perspective. Duluth just plays well when the chips are on the line in games and in the tournament. That said, I would hope that a bad bounce or two or an untimely penalty down the stretch in one of the one goal games will eventually turn against them.
-
...and Duluth's good fortune continues. I am sure Denver would have liked to have the benefit of a power play out of the fiasco, but since the refs screwed that up, another team is going to benefit. If this review thing isn't applied evenly, then get rid of it.
-
... and he is also doing it with guys like Parker MacKay and Billy Exell who have scored big goals and have been key cogs in their lineup. Exell put up 7 points his first two years at Duluth, and MacKay 18 points. Where would they be if Sandy ditched those guys for new freshmen like many are proposing we do. You need players like Coltyn Sanderson to win Championships. Yes, we have a bunch of guys that haven't produced, but a lot of them weren't projected to be scorers.

I think a couple of those points are very valid. So maybe the bigger story here should be "Kennedy unwilling to fight for Racial and Gender Equality"!

After the sisters tried to use the sexist thing about him, you would think you would tread lightly on such accusations, but since it is hard to prove, it met his needs at the time. Once a politician, always a politician.

Brad Bombardir sure didn’t bring them luck in the draft lottery.

No, Brian Jones is going to work from here and commute once a month.

Having the #1 seed hosting certainly would make for a lot of exciting hockey down the stretch when teams are close to that position. Would certainly make the results for the entire year quite relevant. I guess I don't like the mentality of just finishing top four in our league and just getting in the tournament as a means to winning it all, so a little more incentive to give yourself an advantage would seem appropriate. Of course we would need to move "the process" along a lot faster to achieve that.
-
So Ryan Poehling scores 8 goals all year for St. Cloud but has a hat trick along with the shootout winner in his first game with Montreal. Go figure.
-
That’s so true, why rush it, if that is indeed the reason he chose to go elsewhere. In contrast to Donovan’s zero points in 16 games, Bryce Brodzinski has 16 in 16. Doesn’t mean Donovan won’t end up better, but if he rushes it and loses his confidence, was not waiting a year worth it in the long run?

Truth be told, I thought the same thing as well, but it’s funny how perception and stats don’t always mesh. I did a double take when I saw our power play was at 21.5 percent last year which by numbers is good. It didn’t always past the eye test, but those numbers are quite acceptable and had we met them this past year we would have been sitting pretty well. Our penalty kill was much more of a problem the previous season. If we can get our power play back up over 20 percent next season, I am thinking we get back in the tourney and finish top 3 in the league. If special teams don’t improve the hot seat gets hotter, because they know where the focus needs to be again.
