  1. To be fair Tim Hennessey has intimated the same things on a consistent basis. Both he and Ralston continually ripped on people that questioned Rudy and Shaw. The ironic part is that the head coaches in both sports must have had the same conclusions.
  2. ...and, or the Titans.
  3. I would rather hang in the weeds longer and not have the target on our backs so early. Keeps the guys looking up. For some programs being ranked #1 is a carrot to help in recruiting, but I don’t think that should be an issue for us. I won’t be preoccupied until January when the Pairwise starts to mean something.
  4. Jackson Kunz and Jake Schmaltz with goals tonight for Green Bay. Is Kunz just filling in during a break at Shattuck, or did he leave Shattuck?
  5. Been a fan a long time, but one wouldn’t have had to be a fan long to remember the team we had three years ago that was loaded up and down the lineup. This team is doing quite well, and has the makings of a very good team, but we still aren’t even near Christmas, and we know how other teams get mocked for their first half mythical championship.
  6. Some of it is that, and some of it is just finishing better and getting a few more breaks.
  7. So, we are winning more and all of a sudden they have more good players than you can remember? Were you saying the same things last year, because a good many of the players were here last year.
  8. I agree, everybody that thought Denver was unbeatable and are so positive now will sing a different tune if we give that all back this weekend against a desperate St. Cloud team. Need the players to have that same killer instinct they had this past weekend. Hopefully they know they can take one more step in carving out a bit of history for themselves by sweeping St. Cloud, then Alabama Huntsville and get the longest home winning streak in the new Engelstad.
  9. Rizzo and Gaber with game winning O.T. goals last night for their teams.
  10. They are most likely going to get a top pick, but the spot isn't guaranteed, so why not play hard and let the chips fall where they may.
  11. What does that accomplish?
  12. If Pinto was on the line, it could be the Coast to Coast line with him being from New York and Kawaguchi from BC. It almost would apply with Adams from Michigan, but even more so for the coast to coast on the ice.
  13. You should fly Allegiant, according to the 60 Minutes segment a while back they don't worry about mechanical issues.
  14. So is this the way going forward for the program? I realize you need to cut bait at certain points, but then don’t be so eager to take verbals so early on marginal players. I get that after Potulny you don’t want to lose local talent, but this isn’t a good look either. Thought Randklev would be a good college player with his skill set, but I would guess he’ll land somewhere and have the opportunity to prove them wrong, if it wasn’t his decision. Would be nice if Schlossman has some insight into the trend.
  15. If I recall correctly he was a walk on like Matt Henderson.
  16. Let’s also not forget that UND has a history of guys that were not highly sought after, that were cornerstones to Championship teams. Yes, they were supplemented with some high end players, but sometimes those guys became the high end players while highly touted recruits didn’t pan out. Guys like Panzer, Sykes, Henderson, Gaarder, Caggiula, and even Sanderson have been huge at tournament time. Some of these guys are probably similar to these guys in that they won’t be starting out with high scholarship dollars, some maybe only books, so they will need to prove themselves to gain more scholarship money.
  17. Didn’t he also say something in the article about what the guys would think about something that had no diagnosis. I am sure fans questioning him didn’t make it easier to say he has this problem that can’t be identified.
  18. Not the people that thought he shouldn’t be on the team.
  19. Was going to say the same thing. I remember the DU announcers lamenting the fact that they couldn't muster any kind of attack against us last year, but when they did, they finished . Hopefully we have more people that can finish this year too. Of course it all depends on who has guys take the next step. DU I'm sure will have a few like Stapely and Guttman, and hopefully guys like Adams and Mismash continue their progression as well.
  20. It would open up such a can of worms of who would have to make the trip to London late in the year when bodies are already exhausted, nevermind those players in London having to make a trip every other week. Doesn't sound realistic to me. It really could become a players association issue.
  21. It shows Grand Forks on their website as a "Coming Soon" location.
  22. Losing that second game against Miami last year really put us in a downward trajectory. Hopefully we recognize this as an opportunity to get off to a good start in the league and continue our momentum before we hit a challenging stretch.
  23. ... and it is too early to tell if those losses can be offset with a little time to gel. We always talk about not winning championships in the first half, so who gives a rip about dropping in insignificant polls. Let's just hope they don't get well at our expense in a couple of weeks.
  24. So now you are using Hakstol as a comparison for positive talent, when you were always railing on him?
  25. Show us the quotes that reference that someone said it would hurt Penn State football. So a sport that seats 5000 to 6000 is going to hurt a sport that seats 100,000 plus? I would like to see the quote that claims that.
