I guess if there is another stretch of rehab to be done, I guess we can see why he dropped so far in the NHL draft.
-
Curious about Ty Smilanic who is also mentioned. Did he decommit from Denver because he plans on playing Major Junior, or is he reopening his recruitment, or maybe a wait and see where he is drafted scenario, then decide.
-
It may work out for us in that a few players may have a bit of a chip on their shoulder if they feel they were slighted. Some may work themselves into the draft next year should they have good years.
-
Hopefully that will be the day we are finishing off our revenge sweep of Canisius!

I am not so sure the minimal decreases compared to other teams is all about winning. I think it is more about the product not being as exciting. A lot of Hakstol's teams were hovering around .500 midway through the season, but attendance was pretty consistent. Hopefully the excitement comes back this year which leads to better attendance ... and winning! -
As some suggested, Jay O'Brien is going to stay on the East Coast with Boston University after his year with Penticton.

With a part time mayor that has only increased cost of living in the city while the wages haven’t kept pace, is it any wonder why Grand Forks is stagnant right now. Like you say we need to get aggressive, but I don’t see that with a mayor that has no concept of economic development.

Was thinking that since he is 16 he would only be a sophomore in high school last year.

Is Halliday a 2020? With Ness, Gaber and Randklev and Mancinelli, it certainly would seem something has to give.
-
I could see Costello and Mancinelli flipping because I would guess they would be the ones getting pushed back.
-
Would guess this would rule out getting Jay O’Brien after he spends a year in Penticton.

On the positive side, it gives Minnesota another excuse for bad attendance. -
https://www.reddeeradvocate.com/sports/video-garrett-valk-son-of-former-nhler-garry-valk-making-an-impact-at-rebels-main-camp/ Looks like he just recently moved to defense, so maybe a nice upside. Hopefully if he develops nicely he doesn’t go to the WHL. Playing for Chilliwack is a good sign.

True, your goalie wasn't a world beater, except against us. Sometimes losing those goalies works out great for teams, like when Duluth lost Kaskisuo and then Hunter Miska. You guys certainly should put up your share of goals, so even if it takes a while for your goaltender to get comfortable you should be able to pick up the slack. For sure need NCHC teams to do well in the non conference part of their schedules to bring all our pairwise up. We certainly didn't hold up our end of the bargain last year in that regard.
-
So are you a big gopher fan then?
-
But it certainly helps prevent teams that would possibly have a motto "Lose for Hughes" or "Play like Crappo for Kakko".
-
...and then there are people who are obsessed about those people that are obsessed. But the funny part is the people that yell "Fighting Sioux" the most, the students, never were in college when they were the "Fighting Sioux".
-
Since they are in trade talks with Pittsburgh about Phil Kessel, maybe they didn't have the cap space, although I am sure they plan on offloading a lot of cap space too. Haven't seen that Anders Lee signed with the Islanders yet, so maybe they would rather have a hometown boy rather than another old Fighting Sioux.

Raise your hand if you had Colton Sanderson being one of the leading goal scorers down the stretch of the Championship season!
-
Well, only 4 forwards on the team last year finished ahead of him in plus minus, and 3 of them were the line of Senden, Hain and Smith. It isn't a foregone conclusion that new guys are going to be responsible on both ends of the ice from the get go. On the contrary, guys like Adams were just figuring it out at the end of year two.
-
But you never know, as the layoff might not help with Rask being so incredible right now. It doesn't take much for things to turn in the other direction, as I'm sure not many people would have suspected that Martin Jones would be playing as well as he has based on the first few games in the Vegas series.
-
But if they are hoping Joe Thornton wins it, should they not have called a penalty on St. Louis when Thornton was complaining that they shot the puck into the net above the plexiglass, which replay confirms? They might have never got to overtime had they not missed that obvious call.
-
Don’t know how they missed that hand pass. That was worse than the call against Vegas because Vegas just was inept at killing a 5 minute major. In the same token, the refs missed an obvious delay of game penalty in the second while the Sharks were still leading that would have given them a chance to take a two goal lead. Just goes to show you that professional officiating isn’t much better than college. Cross checks to the back of the head, and dangerous hits that resulted in injury. Interesting to see if the refs apologize again, because horrible non calls both ways.

Not trying to convince you of anything, just saying that if you want to support a saintly team, you should cheer for the gophers because they have never done anything beyond reproach. Of course I am being facetious.
