  1. hahahaa all that hate from the Gopher fan(s)...? I take it as a compliment. If the SIOUX hockey team and fans can get this guy's goat this bad, we must doing something right.
  2. Regardless of no history, neither league will be as good as the old league. Hockey East in the current college hockey landscape will continue to be the best league in the nation. i'm not sure why either conference would want to debate mediocrity. ok, that's a stretch but i'm sure you can get the jest of it.
  3. USA Hockey and I had grown weary of the goofer fans around us after going down a few goals, so we stood at the top of the rail on one end of the rink. also, it was easier to get a beer from there. As the comeback was starting, Dave Christian happened to be right outside that section at a booth. As the Sioux started to roll, Dave stood and watched the 2nd and 3rd with us exchanging high-fives every goal! awesome experience to say the least. also, we told him more than once that Brock needed to come back one more season.
  4. kind of a sad statement. Also, Crawford absolutely gifted that point to the Wild. ugh.
  5. Blais style circa 1990's is different than Hak's style of play. If you think in those terms then you also have to agree that Deano doesn't play that style anymore either. Hak's system has always been an NHL style from day one. Good or bad in your taste, it is very close to the NHL style of play and it shows in the success that all the talent that's currently playing in the league. Would those guys still been in the show without Hak? Of course they would, but the guys that are good enough to play up there all play well in all zones and are good on the wall in the cycle game. Many NHL types have said as much about players that develop in this program.
  6. Just caught the post game interview with Pierre on NHL Tonight. Wished the Sioux boys good luck and hopes Hak can win a title because he's a good coach. #firehak
  7. classic. I would've like to see the game last night be played on an acceptable ice surface. so many turnovers and missed passes happened because of the crappy ice and inferior boards. (both teams) i think it had much to do with the plodding flow of play last night. ugly to watch.
  8. UND is the better team but that always doesn't matter.
  9. running team please in the BC/Denver game.
  10. Gopher womens team could skate with this RMU team. oh boy.
  11. agreed. his loaded teams have puckered up in the big games. Hopefully he's finding the right balance going forward.
  12. The dichotomy is maddening. Hak has had teams like this and 2 years ago that have overachieved a bit. conversely, he's had the best teams in the nation lay eggs which will define his tenure until (if) he wins it all.
  13. i watched games at the revamped sport book at Luxor a year ago. it's smaller so you're closer to the tv screens with nice chairs. Ceasars is classic too.
  14. agreed. he's a soph that will be in the NHL in a few years. i predict he will win league dman of the year next year. well, i guess if he feels like being that player as some have suggested above. unreal
  15. so wrong in many ways. #1. you just used the word 'awesomer.' #2. i would think a fan of the #1 seed wouldn't resort to going on a former rival's league-mate's website to stir things up. then i remembered your a goofer fan born with false entitlement insecurities and it makes sense. i guess i'm out of practice since i don't watch, follow, or think about your squad anymore. i will think about them for a few seconds when you're bounced next weekend by Clown/ND.
  16. I guess all i'd say to that is if you thought this roster was going to be top 10 in the nation and a frozen four team, you're delusional. You could see it from a mile away that this was somewhat of a rebuilding year, de-commits being the main reason why. i'm not a blind Hakstol apologist but i do go defending a bit because some of the things spewed here are ridiculous. This board has too many "great hockey minds" talking about systems and chipping the puck off the glass. Yes, Starman was correct in saying they needed to get off the wall and to the middle. well, the fact was that the players couldn't get there. Miami shut them down and forced everything outside. Is that coaching or that maybe these guys just aren't good enough? Oshie, Toews, Frattin, etc.. could've won a championship with you behind the bench, but they didn't.
  17. This team's effort can't be faulted in my opinion. missing the finisher, the clutch player, the clutch goal...... Owned Miami in the latter portion of the first and most of the 2nd. woulda coulda shoulda.....came up with nothing to show for it and that was the game. it's a little bleak and making the tourney is going to take some luck, something UND fans haven't experienced for a while. That being said, the future is bright with developing defensemen and hopefully an influx of scoring touch up front. The team has grown and improved since the beginning of the season and are on the up, imo.
  18. the final kicker per twitter: they are not serving beer at the X today.
  19. i would say 40% GF 40% Twin Cities and the rest are scattered amongst the other outlets.
  20. Carey!! Carey!! He can be the underdog that wins over the 'flashy' player.
  21. you're right, Miami is hot but you wouldn't have said that 3 weeks ago. Yes things can change quickly but they also beat a team that was very human down the stretch. The team with no offense hung 5 against them in their own building two weeks ago. it's been a weird year and nothing will surprise me next weekend. also, WMU and CC aren't playing 'bad' hockey at this time of year.
