One is a goalie in the WCHA and the other is a goalie in the CHA.

I give NDSU credit for what they did and also give credit to the 2016 team. I really don’t care what NDSU fans think.
-
Yeah. All the teams they have beaten actually made the playoffs. It’s completely different.

We just made the NCAA tournament last year. We have not been losing before this season. Admittedly I am not a Jones fan. However, there isn’t $650K sitting in the athletic budget for basketball. You tell me where you will find it and I’m on board with letting him go unless he somehow finds some discipline in his coaching
-
It has nothing to do with me as a fan accepting mediocrity and everything to do with understanding the financials of the athletic dept. and the fan base Nice try though.
-
I think you’d have to have a pretty solid replacement lined up to get $450K for basketball plus the additional it would likely cost to increase salary. Not sure he can change a system to play disciplined offense/defense but he needs to find a way to be more consistent from game to game.

You can’t use injuries as a reason for us “not being right there” and than say you shouldn’t have at large bids IMO. Injuries happen in football, at large bids give a team a chance if they have some guys miss a game or two to injury.
-
They had a really salty oline. We also need to expect our upperclassmen to play their age.
-
Does anyone know how many schollys total have been used on TEs? I’m assuming it’s not 1 full/kid.
-
You can’t announce a recruit that doesn’t sign a LOI?
-
Best of luck to both of them.

I think it went over your head.

A lot easier for me to block time and follow along on a Wednesday in Feb. vs the Wednesday before Christmas. Not even much coverage today for FBS other than ESPN. It will be interesting to follow the next couple months with guys keeping recruiting open and not getting offers they expect after schools hurried to fill classes today.

Likely. Fits the mold of Wanzek/TT at WR (if that’s his spot). One of the top basketball players in Class B and a strong track/field guy.

Bob Entzion did more to harm NDSU than he ever did to UND.
-
I’m well aware what NDSU does on offense.
-
Skill guys maybe but I believe they had McNorton and Holloway along with a young but talented Ojuri Defensively they had very experienced LBs that year and some DL that played a lot of games in their rotation In my posts above I was only referring to the OL/TE/FB spots. They develop them better than most teams and don’t ask a lot of Fr and So to play unless they are really legit. That year they were still Sr and Jr dominate upfront. In their offense (and eventually ours) that makes a difference. Our young hogs were just physically not ready this year. None of them were a Grady but even he would have had a difficult time his one season if surrounded by 3 other guys his age as well. That’s all I was saying. OL development/coaching needs to get way, way better.

SHSU had no idea what to do on offense and defense. Two best teams playing in Frisco in a few weeks.
-
Well, I’ve never argued their off season program is way ahead of ours (and most others). We are talking OL/TE/FB. So they started 4 So/FR in one season? What year was that?
-
You think Sam Houston would have stopped NDSU if they would have run straight FB lead up the A gap last night? They run more power but most of their success last night was A/B gap stuff. SHSU wasn’t stopping it.
-
We will get our shot next year but I don’t think you are giving enough credit to their opponent last night.

Where has anyone on this site said UND will be on par with NDSU all things being what they are today? I think my point and yours are the same point but some of you guys who blindly hate anyone who doesn't fully agree that Rudolph needs to go just type away at anyone who say anything besides that and mistake it for support all things UND. I do think Rudolph could have had the same outcome last night with NDSU's roster vs. SHSU. The plays they had success on were pretty basic. They just were a better team and bullied a squad that had was not very good defensively and wanted nothing to do with a team lining up and running right at them. NDSU also has a great S&C program and does a very good job developing OL. Even guys that no one else see's as D1 talent. We could likely site numerous examples but I am sure you know the names. That said and even if all was equal, you have to admit at a position like OL 1 or 2 extra years of physical development makes a difference. A majority of their guys they started last night were Srs/Jrs.. And that is my biggest issue with this season and it can go all the way back to the previous staff and falls on this one. Upper class o-line play and development with S&C has not been very good. That has nothing to do with Rudolph but does fall on some people on this staff. I also am not one that is real high on Juco or FBS transfers as more often than not, at all FCS programs they are more misses than hits and are not going to do quick patchwork of needs. There has to be development.

I think I see the difference pretty well. They have a really talented OL/TE group that is coached well and executes. They also are a very experienced group and rarely have to plug in more than one or two underclassmen in their rotation. The difference wasn't play calling, it was executing the plays that were called and physically dominating SHSU. Unless its a special group, you don't do that with an OL/TE/FB group consisting mainly of RsFR/So. Generally at the FCS level you aren't getting 4-5 of that special OL talent and development is needed. The development of our OL group going all the way back 6-7 years has not been very good and needs improvement.
-
No !@#$...... Amazing how much more physically ready a position like OL/TE can be when you start 3 Sr., 2 Jrs and only one So. and half of those guys are backed up by Sr. Who would have thought right?
