Pretty clear I want what several others want … ability to win big games after a decade+ of Bubba ball. Perpetual 7-4 football with occasional losing seasons in there isn’t exactly awe inspiring for this fan base (or any fan base for that matter).
I get that but when the team isn’t performing to your (or my) expectation should you be upset when a back up leaves? I agree with some of your comments after Saturday, disagree with this. Your not improving on 7-4 if he’s playing and maybe the coaches were honest with him about it so best of luck to him.

Complain about losing……complain about the players playing and losing leaving. Which way do you want it??

8-3 would be a success because it would mean the team has improved and is clicking on all cylinders come playoff time (given they’re 2-2 right now), but a A LOT of work ahead for Bubba and staff to get UND to that record come playoff time. It doesn’t seem likely right now.
Next two games are huge for direction of program. Close loss to NDSU isn’t good enough. 12-15 vs crowds of 10,000+ since 2016. This program does not have enough leadership or vision right now. Used to always say big players make big plays in big games, well Bubba and his staff certainly don’t make big coaching decisions in big games.
With all that, this is also a recruiting issue. UND wasn’t even in the game from the start yesterday; SDSU was simply a bigger, physical, more talented team, but should we tolerate such a talent differential? No- no excuse. It’s Brookings SD vs Grand Forks ND. SDSU vs UND. No reason or excuse for such a talent and coaching differential. Plus this current team is senior-laden to make matters worse.
Frustrating day yesterday.
My opinion only but the USD results vs FU yesterday put more pressure on the staff than the SDSU loss. Just looked really uninspired and lacked consistent effort yesterday which is really the one thing we can control. Plus, I agree with others that offensive game plan was questionable. I get trying the QB run game after MSU had success with it but it was not working for us.

Disappointing…….team doesn’t even look like they play with effort.

ummm how about the other und........10 guys on field last two plays and he's spinning it that it was kinda his choice .....on both plays?
Like putting faith in a guy who was not even on the roster the week prior to kick a game winning FG against the #4 ranked team in the country.

whadya know.....dabo sweeney didn't like his kicker so he called up a kid that was clemson's backup for a long time and said job's yours...first kick....30 yard right thru......
difference between bubba and dabo...........?
Maybe he should have stuck with his original guy. Great take…

That is what was so frustrating, the dropped picks....fumbling as getting near red zone before half. We just can't ever seem to seize the moment. Not that we for sure win if the drops and fumble don't happen, but think it would have been a 4 quarter game at a minimum.
Fumble before half was a game changer. In the 20, minute thirty left in the half. Lots can happen but I was thinking worse case we go into half down 8 although the way we were moving the ball possibly down one. Get the ball right after half. Instead we go in down 15.
Dropped picks were frustrating as well. Some of those are huge game changers.

I’m trying to wrap my head around how folks think a middle-of-the-road FCS team would roll into Boise and expect to walk away with a W. SDSU or NDSU might be able to do that - but it’s still a BIG maybe.
Again, the disappointment is the way we lost. It’s not wrong to expect players to make plays. Two legit dropped INTs, defensive players losing contain, Tommy making poor plays, CJ getting beat multiple times, OL looking lost at times.
Shouldn’t be hard to wrap your head around the expectations of making those plays regardless of opponent

Exactly. Not a great comparison.

bits? against boise tommy is gonna have about 4 seconds less to throw that bomb to wes...........and more than likely they will be better coached to where he isn't running downfield ALONE.....
and the bo throw "drop radius" was so huge it's crazy....tommy could've dropped that throw in a circle about 25 yards wide in the end zone and bo would've caught it easily....instead he underthrew him by 10-15 yards
Pretty sure it had nothing to do “with how NAU was coached” and everything to do with the DB tripping and falling down.

We also had the MVFC offensive lineman of the week. Pretty big accomplishment in a conference full of great OL.

They don’t deserve playoff bid based on embarrassment against Missouri. USD as a playoff team would be a disgrace to FCS football, but, I suppose, they can improve. I would rather they suck all year, though, personally.
They are bad but could be good. Well said

Going to wait until our first game (maybe 2nd) before making any comments on other squads.

He just looked massive...moved well out there. I assumed he would start in week one by what i saw but it took a few weeks or an injury to get in the staring lineup around week five or six iirc. Jerry reminds me of him. If you didn't know anything about UND's qb's and you checked out a practice or scrimmage you would think he's qb1. He stands out from the other three that much to me.
so....
had a good commit but left for FBS....cedric case is currently playing qb at central missouri (d2)
picked up schuster....no one else at the d1 level wanted him so pretty easy to pickup
quincy had hype....but i guess couldn't throw or run?
fenney...jury is stil out but looks promising...
So since 2013 our qb's were are...
2013
joe mollberg-highly sought after...sucked...moved to TE
ryan bartels-played a bit than lost spot to keaton---had fbs offer but ending up sucking
jake hanson-local kid
kurt palendach-left after one year after seeing that mollberg was the future....currently a pro quarterback....in Japan.
2014
keaton-best qb bubba's had...gutty fast smart qb
2015
brad heidelberg-horrible
2016
eric prater-?
2017
brock boltman-moved to wr and renamed the brockstar
nate "axel" ketteringham-second best qb bubba's had....should never have another down for the sioux after cussing out fans on the catwalk
andrew zimmerman-played a bit...got hurt...not good.
2018
noah grover?
2019
tommy schuster-current starter-1 playoff win (covid season)
2020 spring
quincy vaughn-moved to te...can't throw or run
reid neal-?
ethan postler-?
2021
trey feeney-current qb2
simon romfo-current qb3
2022
colton hackel?
2023
jerry kaminski-soon to be qb1
You answered your own question yiu asked yesterday regarding “what has Danny done”? - he’s turned a QB that no D1s wanted into a top QB in the most challenging conference in FCS.

Are you that numb in the head? Going 2-2 versus 3-1 never questioned whether or not UND is better than non-scholly Drake. If UND plays poorly against Drake, that’s entirely on the coaches and not the players; no question which team has more talent.
I’m not the one who argued with people who said exactly what you are trying to say now. If UND plays poorly against Drake it is on the entire team.
Stay on that ledge……

Honestly, if the backups aren’t starting the third quarter we should be concerned.
Wasn’t the concern supposed to be a 2-2 start?
When people posted that we could go 2-2 and look better than 3-1 you called them out as accepting status quo.

The new defensive coordinator was last year’s safety coach …
There will be plenty of heartbreak and explosive plays against good teams, no doubt. Again, pressure is all on Freund’s offense and the experienced O-line to put up 30+ points every single game.
Most of what you typed was your opinion…..

This won’t happen. It did happen in 2016, but that was another textbook choke job playoff performance. If UnD goes 2-2 in 2023 (this season), then 9-2 likely ain’t happening, but crazier things have happened. My simple point is that UND needs to go 3-1 or 4-0 to make this a special season, and not the same ol, same ol. It’s a prediction, sure, but I’m confident in it.
Let the team take the field before writing them off.
There are ugly ways to get to 3-1 and a team can look ok getting to 2-2. It has nothing to do with accepting mediocrity

The scholarship wouldn’t be tied up for 3 years, it’s a year to year thing. Several schools in the surrounding area have done this. Welcome to college basketball buddy
So than do they make a video of when the scholarship gets pulled??

Also no one is saying Daniel Hong is some all conference player. It was about having an open scholarship all summer. There’s nothing better than seeing the videos of walk ons receiving a scholarship in front of their teammates. It’s priceless. I was hoping Hong would get that chance. If the coaches found a guy they think can contribute then thats great. No idea why I’d be upset over that
Most videos of walk in’s getting scholarships are of guys that won’t tie up that scholarship for 3 more years and never see the court.
