This was restarted with Kolpack on the radio talking about it again. We find it funny. You NDSU fans and Kolpack have now spent 10 months worrying about UNDs ranking in week 3 of a nat'l championship season. But carry on trying to drag UND fans into this and tell us how we would handle it, its giving me a good laugh.
-
I understand that. As I said, I feel like our qb play will be better next year and that will help our offense tremendously. If our young secondary improves, I feel 7-3 isn't out of the question. I'm not expecting a sub .500 season with this team. Nothing wrong wih lofty expectations, I feel the team and the coaches are up for that.
-
My expectations are 7-3 (I'm not counting Mines). 5 wins (Sac. St, Cal-Poly, Northern AZ, Southern Utah, & Northern Colo.). 2 games that could go either way (Portland St., Montana) 3 games were we will have to play mistake free football to win (Eastern Wash., Mont. St., & San Diego St.) Win the 5 listed at the top, split the middle two and sneak a win out of the last 3 and we're sitting at 7-3 and in the playoffs. Obviously staying healthy will be key but our secondary needs to improve and our qb play needs to be consistent. I'm expecting 7-3, 6-4 would be disappointing, especially with the Mines game as a non counter.

SBoHE votes to move ahead with nickname retirement

Yeah Sic, stop throwing facts around. They really mess up the arguement. -
SBoHE votes to move ahead with nickname retirement

And those that were cheering changed their tune after Al's 15 minute meeting with the NCAA. It was at that time that most understood the NCAA wasn't budging and those that were cheering started to prepare for the retirement. Everyone of those people who made the trip to Indy understood this after that meeting, some were just a little more vocal than others. There is nothing wrong with changing your opinion on something as the situation changes. -
What do you mean? Faison called the NCAA and got them to mail the banner to UND. That's why the letter was addressed to him and not Gene Taylor. Its the only explanation. How else would the NCAA confuse UND and ndsu?
-
Right, your media and coaches spent a month interviewing everyone who votes in the poll when UND was ranked trying to prove everyone who voted made a mistake. That has professionalism written all over it.
-
You tried calling Faison classless without knowing facts to the situation and were completely wrong. I'd say that is as classless as it gets.

I was being a straight shooter with you when I wrote my post. You have made it perfectly clear that you are a fan of the nickname only. Its gone so you should move on. I see you no different than other posters who aren't fans of the Unversity of North Dakota. You are a troll only here to stir the pot. Go back and read your posts from the last 6 months, its clear what you are a fan of. -

Do us a favor and stop posting here too. Your not a fan of the school anymore so unless your trolling, you have no reason to post. Bye. -
If ndsu wants to join the Big Sky I have no problems being in the same conference as them. I think they are happy where they are at though and so is UND.
-
Don't get to excited. I could see where a bison player that played in the last 2 years of the games and redshirted another wouldn't have enjoyed those games that much.
-
There have been plenty of schools that have changed their nickname and haven't lost "many" of their fans. There are examples all across the country but there is an example right in Dickinson. When they changed their name from the Savages to the Bluehawks people weren't happy about it but the strongest group of supporters are those that were there when the name change took place and the generation before and after. People still attend games. Again, you have no facts to back your claims.
-
He lied in the article about Wanless being at San Diego St. so he lost all credibility with me. Seriously, correct me if I'm wrong but Wanless is at Sacramento St. When he misses the easy facts, he loses all other credibility.
-
The coaches who's lively hood is affected by the ramifications of keeping the nickname have come out and are now in agreement it is time to change it. How about we start the conversation there? They are closer to the situation than you, I or anyone else on this board. Are they excited to change it? No. Do they understand what it is necessary to get their programs to the next level or keep their programs at the highest level? Yes. They can back up their stance with facts. I'll wait for you to give your facts that support why the name should stay.
-
You might want to revisit the facts before posting. How many more specifics do you want? Thanks for posting, might want to read up on the facts before posting.

You have to look at what Texas and A&M will be like 10 years from now to make your compairson work. I guess I don't know what conference either team will be in at that time but if thats what it takes for you to justify that UND was clearly on the minds of ndsu players and fans after their nat'l championship, so be it.
-
Clearly this was proven in the hours after the national championship game by fans and players. UND wasn't even on their minds after 10 years. Wait, never mind. Don't flatter yourself Dan.

I live in Carlson's district and have tried to contact him by phone and e-mail about his thoughts on his law and the topic in general. My neighbors have as well and all of us are still waiting to hear from him. As residents in his district, I feel that he should be able to share how his meeting with the NCAA went before the upcoming vote. I have also contacted Heitcamp and asked him to have Carlson or Dalrymple on before the vote. I feel its important for the voters of North Dakota to have a chance to revisit how this meeting went. Its funny that for some reason Al won't respond to these requests. I feel that if a radio station or newspaper would want to write a good story, now would be a great time to revisit that 15 minute meeting with the NCAA. The leadership who met with the NCAA reversed their decision to put the law in place so fast after they returned the NCAA obviously made it pretty clear they weren't budging and had a pretty good reason not to. I don't see any radio or newspaper having enough balls to write that article though and ask the tough questions unfortunately.

He hasn't been name the starter so I don't think he's been handed the job. People who went to practices and scrimmages this spring and watched know that him and Bradley (along with the others) split reps between the ones and twos. Both seperated from the pack and the battle will continue into the fall. Neither has been named the starter so I guess to answer your question, no, its not a dangerous precedent at all.
-
What are the lies you are speaking of Dave? As Sik said above, lets hear them.
-
Sounds like someone or a particular fanbase is more scared of the game cause of how it may end up. I get it now after reading pages of this thread, they think its great to chant how UND sucks and its great when your players stand up on a stage and proclaim how this is Bison country and UND sucks, but when it comes time to prove it onthe field, there is no benefit. Talking the talk is easier sometimes I guess.
-
Four 16 team conferences was so close to happening last year. Basically Notre Dame not choosing a conference is what kept it from happening. This thing is close. I think Florida St. being so open about them and Clemson joining a conference in the middle of the country speaks volumes about how close it is to becoming a reality.
-
I don't care. I just find it funny that every response is that such a small percentage of fans want the game when its been made clear time and time again this year that your fans won't let it go. You proved my point by trying to justify your point by naming state schools that play eachother every year as your example. I think the volleyball and basketball games this year have more to do with not wanting the games scheduled than your fanbase moving on.
-
You guys are trying so hard to talk yourselves into not wanting this game. Sioux suck chants during the nat'l championship, Sioux suck chants when you returned from the nat'l championship, Sioux suck chants at home games. Hell I was at a wedding last weekend in Dickinson of a former Bison player and a Sioux suck chant broke out at the end of the dance. Your post should read that there are not many of the 50 regulars on B'ville who want an annual game, there are more than plenty that want it to happen but are nervous of the outcome.
