    2012 Recruiting

This is good news. Get someone in here to hold down the position for one year, hopefully play well and than let the young guys remaining fight it out to see who takes over after that. I think after this recruiting class we will have the young qb in our system we can develop. Hopfully this is the answer to the position that has been the biggest question mark the last couple years. Nice work by the coaching staff.

I think next weekend is going to be a big recruiting weekend for us.

I agree with some of the above, lets give the kid a chance to get here before we throw him under the bus. His coach said some other schools were waiting on some other offers before offering him, we'll see how it plays out. Hopefully by now the team has an identity inside the locker room and a kid either fits in or makes the proper adjustments to fit in. Newsflash- not every kid our coaches recruit will be an A+ student with a perfect attitude. Its up to the player to buy into the program and hopefully it works out in this case. A certain LB who just graduated had a little trouble and a little bit of an attitude before he got to UND and he ended up being a great player and a great person off the field. Give this kid a chance.
  4. Its funny, I don't see a Legit Slater on any of our rosters of our athletic teams. This person believes so strongly about this he/she is willing to write their beliefs under a false name. Must beleive in this pretty stongly. And than you expect me to believe he/she is an athlete?
  5. I'm beginning to think that the only people who thought the meeting with the NCAA was going to change anything were you and Al Carlson. If I were on the trip I would have kept the car running with the AC on while we went inside to keep it cool. The meeting could have been that quick.

    2012 Recruiting

We have a short 6 day window between quiet periods this week for recruiting. Hoping we hear of a few verbals this week but I'm guessing next weekend, the 14th will be the big recruiting weekend.
  7. You mean Mac Schneider who is a UND alum, played athletics at UND, will take the time to share his thoughts with anyone who asks, and predicted this mess months ago when arguing against passing the bill to keep the name, one of the only officials to have the backbone to take a stand for the athletics teams he actually played for. Your comparing that Mac Schneider to Al Carlson who didn't even graduate from UND? Thats a big time stretch Star.
  8. The Big Sky has to vote to have us removed before we even worry about this scenario. Why worry about something that is completely out of our hands?
  9. Your funny. Typical bison troll. You don't care about UND yet there are ndsu fans posting on this board daily. And I bet no one will care if you get beat or bother posting here if you win. The ndsu fans not caring about UND has been beat to death and is more and more comical everyday. There are new posts daily on your own fan board about UND and new threads started weekly so its pretty funny when you say no one cares.
  10. Goon, it's a desperate article by both nickname supporters and a blog who's source of income is hits on its website. In a time where nickname supporters are trying to gather signitures for their petition its a perfect article to get signitures from those with no vested interest in the university.
  11. I just think Kelly has more patience than I would have for this. We've changed from not retiring the nickname, to retiring the name, to not retiring it, to now transitioning to retiring it. Things that were said when we were in the retirement stage shouldn't be held against someone when we've flip flopped two or three times now. I don't think Kelley has ever really hid his thoughts on the subject even though he hasn't come out and voiced them publically. As far as the NCAA and Big Sky are concerned I guess I'm in the crowd that believes if its their club, they can do what they want. UND still has the option of keeping their nickname, its called the NAIA.
  12. If I was Kelley I'd resign on my own and go tell the hockey only loving crowd to go !@#$ themselves. Than you could apply for the job Star since you seem to have the whole conference thing figured out and could get the rest of the sports into a conference while being in good standing with the NCAA.

6'7" and he can play either tackle or TE.

Heard both UND and ndsu have made an offer to Lechler from Beach. I know both Montana and Montana St. were recruiting as well, not sure if either have made an offer.

    2012 Recruiting

Well, now that we are in the recruiting dead period what's everyone's thoughts- assuming of course everyone who has verballed sign on Signing Day. Good list of kids that have verballed so far. We're continuing to build depth by getting some kids who appear as if they could play very early in their careers. I expect we will see, or hear about, a some offensive linemen and a few more secondary verbals as those are always going to be positions of need in the Big Sky. What is everyone's thoughts?
  16. This is in the football forum. Lets not start this argument.
  17. Done trolling yet? A simple look at your posts and its easy to see why your here.

Here is a good article on him while your waiting. Sounds like a good talent. The coaches are doing a great job this year and I know they are very happy with how this years class is shaping up. http://espn.go.com/blog/chicago/high-school/tag/_/name/anthony-taylor

I believe I heard there were about 10-12 recruits in town for the weekend.

    2012 Recruiting

Paper from his home town had an article that said ndsu offered a full ride and he was waiting for a visit from UND to see what they were going to do. ndsu was the front runner at that time before he had even spoken to UND. You can tell the story however you want but UND never offered the kid. I'll take it as what I have heard and they had WR higher on the list. Not a knock on either the school or the kid but its how coaches evaluate talent. In a few years we'll see who was right.

you don't know either yet you and all your buddies like to keep coming on this board come recruiting season and tell everyone how it went down. Fact, he had two offers, ndsu and Moorhead, not sure what FCS schools you are talking about. Good job, you stole a recruit from Moorhead.

I read from the Fargo Forum that Molberg and a RB from Wisconsin committed to ndsu, neither ever happened. Not a good reference.

Nice comeback Danno. There is a common theme with all those players on that team, great players who had great success 4 years in the conference. UND probably didn't have any of those players but some of the kids on our roster now will have just as successful careers by the time they are done at UND. How about the number of Great West championships each team won?

The kid is a good player but he wasn't UND's highest ranked WR. Things are looking good for the guys they have ranked higher and time will tell if they made the correct decision by not offering. Either way, Woods definately turned some heads with the two playoff games he had.
