  1. Based on all reports teams moving up from to the WAC for football would be all Southeastern schools. This could be something to make scheduling easier for Idaho and NMSU for those sports. Save them from Independence.

  2. Sounds like you're confusing talent with production. If its not a conversation worth having for you than don't post on it.

Well, was our offense that bad this year in the scrimmages I saw in the spring or was our defense that good? And with the secondary we had last year the guys coming back have a lot to prove. I saw some talent but not much production. This year is our chance to begin to prove ourselves at this level. Lets not get a head of ourselves until at least two weeks from now when the boys put all the pads on for the first time.

  3. Talent doesnt need to play to be measured. The Oakland Raiders are about as talented as it gets in the NFL they just don't produce. The 2003 team was not nearly as talented as others but got very close to winning it all. I'm just trying to make some good conversation til things pick up again so lay off the buzz kill please.

I don't think its conversation worth having until after the season. Buzzkill or not it sounds real silly to have this conversation before fall camp even starts. There is plent of conversation to be had. Freshmen report in less than a week. Camp starts in a week. Where is Fafita and what is our secondary going to look like? How is the turf coming along at the Al?

Crowning anyone anything before the season has even started is a joke. They are big boys, they will have their chance to prove it in about a month.

  4. No did I miss something about him turning it down? As far as the reports show so far he has not finalized his decision.

I'm confident if he is not at UND, he won't be in the state of North Dakota next season. I guess we'll find out in a couple weeks though.

  5. Oh please, now this says something about NDSU's recruiting class? Dream on man.

You wrote 5 posts quesitoning why UND was so excited to get this kid as a preferred walk on but never once questioned why your own coaching staff decided to make an half scholorship offer 2 weeks before camp.

NDSU has done very well recruiting and there is no question what they have done works but its a UND board and I'll stick up for the UND staff and players everytime. You try to pretend your not stirring the pot but you keep asking a question and don't listen to the answers or look at the current facts of the situation. The big one being the kid turned down a ndsu scholorship to walk on at UND. He also has talked to the UW coaching staff in the past couple weeks along with another FBS school, if it was a ndsu recruit in the same situation you and all the other fans of your school would rightfully be singing the kids praises and you know it.

  6. The obvious question seems to be, if he is going to be such a great player for UND, why is he not being offered a scholarship at UND?

I have never seen so much hoopla over a preferred walk on in my life. If he is really that good, why didn't UND see him as a priority?

You are not taking into consideration where UND coaches had him in their rankings. If they got the player or players ranked higher than him than there was no need to offer a scholorship.

I guess the more obvious question is what does it say for NDSU's recruiting class when you come in two weeks before camp to offer a half scholorship to a kid that is only a preferred walk on elsewhere? And when 2 FBS schools and one other local FCS call the UND coaching staff to let them know they are going to talk to Joe and may offer a scholorship why did ndsu not have the courtesy to do the same?

I think the kid is going to be a very good player and it sounds like he has great head on his shoulders as it sounds as though he has been very honest with the coaching staff throughout the last couple weeks after the all star game.

  7. NDSU is not desperate I imagine. I presume NDSU saw the guy had potential and showed it in some All-Star game, correct? He wasn't signed to anything. Threw an offer out. Worth a try if they wanted him. Nothing wrong with doing that. If it isn't against any NCAA rules that is.

I love going and reading the recruiting threads here and Bisonville. Seeing guys like you, BisonDan and others ripping UND's recruiting class saying it lacked talent. Now a few months later, your bison are offering scholorships to one of our preferred walk ons. New low no matter how you look at it.

  8. I believe we have the most present history with unc, but they have little athletic talent on the field, and have a hard time finishing in the top half in football every year. I would like this, but for a rival game no.

I think UNC will get at least 3 conference wins this year.

  9. OVER OR UNDER: 70% Freethrow shooting as a team for the season

Push- I'm as interested to see if there is any improvement to this stat as I am to see if there is any improvement to our DB play on the football field. Both will be keys to our success this season in both sports. How many games did this cost us last season?

  10. I don't know if "excited" is how I would describe how I feel about the defensive backfield. Definately curious. Hopeful maybe?

That is more what I meant. Everytime I start to get real excited about next year I think about the DB's and that tempers my expectations. The potential is there. They are very good against the run but I need to see improvement from last year against the pass. I'm just ready to see what we have.

  11. Jameer Jackson

    Dominique Bennett

    Cordero Finley

    Garrison Goodman

    Seth Nichols

Good ones. I forgot about Goodman. Also, excited to see Nichols this year. And our entire defensive backfield.

  12. Which player is everybody looking forward to seeing the most this season? For me it's Jer Garman. I really wish he would have been used more last season or redshirted although I do understand why it was pulled.

    Spencer Cummings

    March 13-16 Big Sky Tournement

replace Crown college or Presentation college with a home game vs. USD or UNO and that is a good looking schedule. I'm glad we are finally in a conference that gives us something to be excited about.

  14. You can make a pretty good argument for Sam Houston being #1 in a pre-season poll. It is a tough road to repeat. Let's play the games and see where we wind up!

Two very solid teams at the top who deserve to be there based on what they have coming back from last year. Its a 1A & 1B thing if you ask me. After all the games are played that top 10 will look very different. Can't wait for the season to start.

  15. I think its a good idea. The papers in Dickinson, Minot and sometimes Bismarck already cover the Big Sky conference as much or more than they cover other conferences so fans west of the Missouri are very familiar with these teams. A traveling trophy tied to both states would be great idea with a team we are playing on a yearly basis.

  16. Ever think that hockey might be holding the "other" sports back?

Nope. Man it must have hurt Terry to write this column. http://terryvandrovec.tumblr.com/

That number for UND is only going to grow. I have heard football season ticket sales had a nice bump this offseason. And hopefully with the women's and men's basketball teams finally being in a conference thier attendance will increase. Also, every women's volleyball game seemed to have more and more people at it last year as the season went a long. Huge number and still a lot of room for improvement, without having to spend any money on new facilities.
