  1. When more than 1900 students show up regularly, then the $5/ticket thing gets tricky, but until then it’s not a big deal. Although it is only Wednesday, I'm not hearing as good of things as I did last week in terms of student interest in the game - hopefully that changes. This game will be a huge indication; if a lot of students show up for two home games in a row (especially with this one on a Sat. night and with most of the 'UND hockey-only-brats' being more interested in partying and talking about the NHL rather than watching football live) then I'll be convinced student interest/attendance is back where it needs to be.

I'm hoping the fact that it is a short week and everything being shut down on Monday has a lot to do with the student ticket situation this week. Hopefully things pick up today and tomorrow. Its going to be an entertaining game.

  2. It doesn't say he thinks it is more serious. It shows that he is in a position to gather information and make an intelligent decision on whether or not a player's circumstances warrant a suspension. CSU isn't even the toughest game on our schedule and it may end up that putting this off will come back to bite the team in the ass. What if their punishment comes down during a conference game? Will you still be spouting off about lack of integrity? How about you let the situation play out before shouting from your high horse?

I am so glad that you personally GUARANTEE UND would handle this differently. Now we know exactly how UND would respond.

Bohl is letting 8 situations play out right now and didn't let one play out 2 weeks ago. Inconsistencies. And stop trying to drag UND into this. Coach Mussman does not have to decide how to handle this situation cause the name of 8 UND football players is not in the paper and all over the news. You are asking a hypothetical question and wanting an answer. We don't know how Mussman would handle this cause he didn't have to have a press conference yesterday to address the issues, Bohl and Taylor did.

  3. Like I said, I think that Ojuri should get the hammer(and possibly the boot) and Jemison got what he deserved. The rest of these guys, at most, deserve a game or two. I'm sure they will and I hope it is for the cupcake game.

Ojuri already got the hammer, worked wonders.

  4. Sounds like some people are trying to make it into a huge deal rather than looking at what it really is. It is some college kids being lazy. I'm not saying they shouldn't be punished, but I don't think anyone(other than IMO Ojuri) should be given the boot.

Just my opinion but if someone put my signiture on something without my authorization I would be pretty pissed off and wouldn't think it is not that big of a deal.

  5. Great, so when they find out exactly who did what then punishments will be handed out. Why are we so quick to rush to judgement these days? I'll admit I am a little disappointed with the inconsistency in punishments between different situations, but you have to admit the situations are very different and not all crimes are created equally even if they technically carry the same degree of severity in the law's eyes.

I don't have to justify anything. Two weeks ago with your program, punishing a player before he "had his day in court" was just fine. Yesterday, its not.

I was responding to your post about not knowing for sure who did what and based on interviews I've heard with the AG, it isn't hard as all they have to do is look at the signiture of who is responsible for each petition.

  6. Sioux football insider tweeted that UND players (Garman and Ivery) missed the Mines game due to....skipping a class. The coaches do random class checks and they werent there. Talk about two different philosophies in Fargo and Grand Forks! Way to go Muss and staff!

You hit that one on the head. I think Muss's track record speaks for itself when it comes to discipline and consistency. Pretty black and white.

  7. So all thirteen people charged had a "high number" of errors? I find that hard to believe. It sounds to me like they don't know exactly who is guilty and who isn't at this point so how can punishments be handed out? At this point I believe that it is in the preliminary stages and Coach Bohl is justified in waiting until a few things play out.

It shouldn't be to hard to figue out who's petitions had the errors on them if you look at the signiture of the circulator. As the circulator, you are responsible for the petitions you turn it.

  8. I honestly don't know where to begin with all of the leaps and assumptions you have made in your post.

Let's actually look at this from a legal perspective(I am not a lawyer, so if I make assumptions I shouldn't feel free to correct me). From what I have read in the news, the entire "team" of signature collectors is being named in this. It seems as though they do not know exactly who is guilty and who was just on the "team". Let's say for example that it was just 2 of the players who actually committed fraud and the rest of them are being named as a result of being on the "team", does it make sense to suspend all of them? I like the idea of letting this one play out, not because what was done was less of a crime, but because they aren't even sure who did what at this point and it seems as though it might be quite difficult to determine. This situation is so very different than someone showing their genitals, although I would have liked to have seen that play out as well before punishment was given.

To say this shows a character flaw and that in some way this reflects leadership is asinine. What this may show is a couple of these guys were feeling lazy one sunny summer day and instead of hitting the streets to get signatures they decided to take the easy way out and sit on their butts. Good lord they are college kids. Have you ever skipped a class and then copied someones notes or had someone take your PRS clicker to a class so you still get participation points for that day? Ever had your wife take your credit card to the grocery store and sign your name? I commit fraud every day when I let my employees take the business credit card to buy office supplies. Turn me in if you want.

I am not downplaying this at all, I think it is a big deal and if found guilty the players should be punished accordingly. But don't make this out to be more than it is, a couple of kids who probably felt like taking a nap and still making their $9/hour for that day or couple of days.

I think your incorrect. When the petitions are turned they have the signitures of the circulator that Sic mentioned above. This wasn't the entire team of circulators. It was these individual circulators who had a very high number of "errors" on thier petitions.

  9. i am sure they all didnt know that the signature and names had to be verified. probably didnt know that it was needed to be put on an election ballot. that being said they still committed a crime. seems like a very complicated matter. there could be many factors involved in the case. so i understand bohl wanting to play it out legally. i just hope they dont go unpunished. if something does come of it which would likely be late winter, how will they be disciplined? more conditioning? 1st game of 2013? hmmm

Maybe he'll really flex his muscle and sit them during spring ball. If all they get for this is having to run a couple extra crunchers after practice it will raise some eyebrows.

  10. let me see but is this not a UND sports forum? Then why are we talking about the Bison for? I brought up hockey players for the simple reason if it had been a hockey player from UND you would be singing a different tune, like pissing in an elevator.

But its not. Craig Bohl had a press conference today to discuss the charges against 8 of his football players from NDSU and Gene Taylor had an interview today to discuss the charges against 8 athletes within his athletic dept. Again, nothing to do with UND or any of their athletes. If you would like to revisit items from the past we can definately compare situations within both programs via PM.

  11. I don't think they had any idea what would happen if they did what they did. They thought it was a way to make a quick buck and went for it. I agree with Taylor on this. As if most UND hockey players would know not to fake signatures. Besides Hak would still play them and don't for a minute think he wouldn't.

    Two things:

    1. This wasn't UND hockey players and UND has nothing to do with this conversation. Don't even try to bring them up because UND has nothing to do with this mess.
    2. I also want to make sure I understand your thought process on this. These young men signed up for this responsibility to collect signitures voluntarily and if they would have done the job properly they would have gotten paid for their hard work and the fine job that they did. This money would have been theirs to spend however they choose to because they earned it. But since they didn't take the time to understand the job they needed to do in order to get paid, it is someone else's fault and someone else should suffer the consequences of thier actions? So my question is- how old are these kids and what exactly are they going to do when they get into the real world? Some of them are a year or two away from graduation and I know my company sure as !@#$ wouldn't hire someone who wants to get paid for the job they do and wants a pat on the back when the job goes good but is quick to point the finger when !@#$ hits the fan. And you sir aren't much better for thinking that is ok and making excuses for them.

  12. Ticket sales seem to be going ok for the game. Ticket master shows open seats in the corners sections and 2 of the sections on about the 10 have availability. Other than that it is fairly spotty throughout. Another strong student turnout would be outstanding and hopefully being Potato Bowl will give ticket sales another boost this week for what is going to be a fun game to watch.

  13. As far as playoffs, the injury puts UND in jeopardy(not that we would have known otherwise, game against Mines shows nothing), but a big part of the UND playoff hope was(from what i gathered) based on him. Two weeks without him, could really hurt if UND loses the PSU game. Y'all got the next few weeks to see if you got a shot at the playoffs. UND needs 7 wins to gain consideration. UND has 10 games to garner that consideration. Portland State game just got more complicated. Things should very interesting to watch from a Bison fan perspective.

Well thought out post with breaking information we were not aware of.

  14. 3 sections is 2000, right? 18 sections, 12000 seats, ~700 per section

Plus the students who were sitting in empy season ticket seats in 214 and in the endzones. We showed up to our season tickets and there were students in our seats and the seats of others around us. The ones who stayed said the student section tickets were all gone so they gave them tickets in the endzone areas and they wanted to move down. More than 3 sections worth.

  15. how much time ? 40 million worth ? ?

If you want to move all the coaches offices to the Alerus along with sports medicine and academic center and an updating training facility I'm sure you could spend 40 million. Good thing the IPC is only going to cost $19 million.

  16. i was told this morning that the student ticket allotment was not sold out, and i have a ticket for the normal student section. I can't imagine that 3,000 students are going to show up. Hell I'm not sure I would believe that 3,000 students actually know about the game.

Mr. Positive speaks again. I guess we'll find out in a few hours.

  17. Just a heads up, if there are any National Guard Soldiers or Airmen, Naval Reservists, Air Force personnel, ect. You can get up to 5 free tickets tonight for the UND football game. Just show up at 5 p.m. in the Alerus Center ballroom. That is where they will be doled out. Go UND!

    Thanks for the service Teeder

  18. Just saw on twitter than Dom Izzo picked UND to go 4-7 this year.

Was he looking at the right schedule and roster? According to Fargo media, coaches and fans it is easy to get the two schools confused.

  19. Huh?

    C'mon homer...

In my neighborhood all dish locations are street side on the side of the house which would be right above my family room. I thnk it would look like !@#$. Also, I prefer to have bundled internet, cable and phone. I'm waiting for Midco. When they were installing thier system into Moorhead in 2010, I believe I remeber hearing 2013 as their target date for Fargo. I haven't had anyone come knockig on my door yet asking for backyard easment but I still have my fingers crossed.

  20. I totally agree. If you are in one of the markets that have options for cable, why not just switch to Midco? That will get their attention. CableOne apparently needs a wake up call.

Even if you don't have another cable option, drop them and go with satellite. You will still have the same options for UND sports.

Start switching your service, they will start listening.

I'd love to but I don't like the look of a dish on my house.
