Like vince mentioned above, most guys in that area that have seen him play are very high on him. Apparently he missed most of last year with a broken hand but came back and had great stats this year. Needed to add a player at QB this year.

Would love to see Coach Luke get a chest bump today. Hopefully Thurman's visit went well.

Thanks for caring about UND. I suppose FU doesn't have to worry about success of one sport affecting attendance of another during the same season. Your women's team is terrible so MBB is the only show on campus.

I don't think he was calling out a recruit. I think he was answering what some of us were questioning. He knows its a big weekend and the coaches are not going to let the weather be an excuse to not get the kids to commit. Its a normal recruiting weekend as far as the coaches are concerned.

I know not all FU football players are criminals. They have had players doing great things off the field for years. You don't have to post stories to prove that. It does tell a lot though that you feel the need to post one great story on this board to offset a years worth of behavior off the field. That is why you posted the story isn't it? UND has players that go great things for fans in the community as well. I could give you a laundry list of things done this year alone. Some very touching stories there as well. They do them because its the expectation of the program and those within our athletic dept.

I think that has been the direction he has been leaning for a while but "I have heard" he is more seriously considering UND. FU has recently offered, something they were pretty open about not doing early in the process. If they would have offered 6 months ago, it would have been a done deal, not necessarily the case now, but UND hasn't offered yet either. The UND coaches have been very upfront with him and he has been very impressed with that.

I feel terrible for the kid. No one that age should have to go through that. Pat on the back to current and former players for making him feel better and giving him and his family a great memory. However, I find your reasoning for posting the story on this board interesting. Your explanation for why you were posting says as much. Athletes all over the country do great things for kids and don't expect the pat on the back you want us to give.

Many people in general do great things and don't expect a pat on the back. Tells me something when you feel the need to post something like this to try and offset the actions of other players from the program through out the year. Players doing great things off the field, court or ice happens at every program, including UND.

Nice post Hambone. Jaried Combs at TE has an impressive highlight tape. Also, Clarence Smith at RB looks nice and Dirrell Clark out of IL. He has had an offer from Purdue for a whilebut hasn't committed yet. Hoping Coach Luke can keep working his magic in Illinois. On a side note, Jesse Kubick from Dickinson is a possibility for a PWO. He has $$ offered from Montana St. and right now has a PWO from FU and us but FU talked to him about a partial so we may have to as well. We have a decent shot as a PWO if FU's offer stays there. Big body, with good feet and strength. I think he could add to this class.

Thats what I was thinking. Its been rather quiet regarding Bell. Judging from the press he got this fall and him being open about he'd consider a D1 offer if it came along, I'm hoping it works out with him. I wonder if Travis has any news on him

Just imagine last year when Travis came on here to give updates on Schobert, if we would have had users who told him to !@#$ off and that he wasn't good at his job. How can you fault a kid for wanting to play at the highest level available to him and how can you fault a reporter for doing his job and reporting it?

No, he got an offer from them and apparently told Travis (from Wissport) that he was thinking about reopening his recruiting to see what happens. Once Travis posted this some posters pretty much told him he's worthless and many bashed the MAC as a whole, saying the MVFC is a better conference.

He received an offer from Western Michigan and if you want some good comedy go check out Bville and read their responses to Travis from Wissports who filled them in on the news.

Meh, enjoy filling your schedule. I'm guessing a team holds out for $300,000+ to come to Fargo. Anyone Gene calls knows they have FU by the balls. Not getting a D1 puts them at a 10 game schedule with Kansas St. being one of those games.

I wish we would have had a repeat of last year with a regular season rematch. Texas A&M was the hottest team in the country the last 4 weeks. Alabama is just impressive. I would have loved to watch those two teams go at it again.

Hard to say. I think there is still one, possibly two from the Illinois area we don't know about. Coach Schleusner has had a few chest bumps and we only have two comitments from Illinois if you include Adams. JJ Robertson being the other. Its hard to say if we have been able to keep up on the commitments or not.

Interesting note on Thurman. He held an offer from Central Michigan and from what I gathered by reading online got a commitment from someone higher on their board and that offer is no longer there. He is a must sign. Watching his highlight tape he could come in a play right away. He's physical against the run and moves pretty well. I'm guessing this will be a big recruiting weekend for us and I'm hoping there are a lot of chest bumps getting thrown out on Sunday and Monday. Thurman is set to visit Southern Illinois the following weekend but hopefully we get him locked up before he leaves town.
