Was hring Bubba a good thing?
The best voices for that would be former players who played for Bubba. Those I have talked with would tell you it was a good hire and are happy to have him back.
-
Ha it's the only way you guys will ever see a Championship caliber team in that tin shed
Must hurt to know that UND is soon going to have everything FU has plus a state of the art IPF.
-
I notice that they still only have one Assistant Coach position posted. You'd think they'd have multiple positions posted by now. Or maybe posting one gives them the authority to hire multiple coaches. I'm not sure how that works.
I believe the one posting gives ability to hire all. I noticed FU has only two postings for their current openings.

My hope is Bubba brings in an O cord that takes control of the offense. Let Bubba and Schmidt fix the defense and I there is potential to fix things quickly. Faison has to let Bubba spend some cash on a quality Offensive coordinator/assistant head coach.
-
Your genius makes my head hurt.
Haha
-
my sources tell me we will be happy with our coordinators and Faison was abel to generate money for bubs to spread out
You have exhausted your sources and are in throwing !@#$ at the wall mode.

Congrats to Lowell Schweigert and his circle of influence. You'd better be right.
My plan was to be patient with DeBoer to the end of season four.
With Bubba, it's three.
Signed,
Still looking for UND 2.0
They can get outside the perceived circle with the assistants. Solid hire.

Congrats Bubba. Time to assemble the staff to right the ship. Quality OC to handle the offense. Let's fix the defense.

Anyone know the consequences if the rules of hiring a coach are not followed?
Seems interesting all these other teams can quickly find a coach but we have a "process."
A rule without consequences is merely a suggestion.
This. Great question

i've been thinking we would have a hc a little after 5pm on the 11th....what makes you think anything is happen tomorrow or the day after that or the day after or the day after that......??
Wishful thinking more than anything. I would assume one of them would stay for a press conference.
-
Sioux Football Insider guys are reporting they would be surprised if Bubba is not the guy named after the weekend. Who to believe gfhockey reporting Deboer or Fritz and Oskie reporting Bubba? Should be an interesting day tomorrow.
-
If true, How in gods green earth is a man with no more than 48 months coaching experience at ANY NCAA level our next head coach?
Guy has as many national championships as a head coach as he has loses. Pretty impressive no matter the level.
-
Like I've said all along, both are quality guys. Faison needs to open the checkbook for the staff and we need some quality. Also, let's get to recruiting.
I'll also add I was and am still pulling for Bubba but will support either guy.

final score: SDSU 77, UND 70
Jacks have a good team. I was impressed by their size and how well they shoot it. It will be a FU vs BU final in Sioux Falls. Best of luck the rest of the way.

Overall improvement:
1. Fundamentals
2. Coaching
3. Fan and University Support.... Hockey School and it shows.
There won't be a lot of support at any school for a 3-8 team. The big loses at the beginning of the year weren't good either. Last year excitement was built, more season tickets were purchased than any year in history, Champions donations were the highest they have ever been and enough money was raised to build a state of the art IPF. The support is there and as an alum, if teams win, they will get fan support. When the football team is annaully ranked in the top 25 of FCS, I have no doubt the team will get the support. The past has shown that.
Won't argue #1. #2 is being addressed.

1. Offensive line -- it sets the tempo for the whole team, offense and defense (keeps them off field)
2. Defensive line -- you win an lose up front
3. Get the fans back.
4. Secondary -- you have to cover
5. A real DI running back
I believe that UND has LB and QB talent available. I'm not sure about WR anymore, but, that would come in outside the top five.
Can't argue with this. I think there could be some young potential to help with #'s 1 and 2 but our new staff has to be able to develop young talent. Only change I would make is look at moving #5 up the list. We might have one on the roster but all we saw last year was Miller and Garmin. The same guy in Illinois who labeled Golloday as one of the top 5 WR his senior year said Sharp was one of the biggest steals in last years recruiting class. Hope he goes 2 of 2 on his predictions.

Completely outmatched down low tonight. I have never seen a team with worse luck in regards to injuries. Not an excuse either. If we can't find a post to step up, either Calcuterra or Salmonson or Traylor once they get back, we are in trouble come league play.
Miss Brekke dearly.

Still trying to figure out how Cody Larson was granted a waiver to play this year. Solid player for SDSU. Not afraid to talk a little after each whistle.
-
Tied 32 at half. Not pretty for UND but still in the game. Need to do a better job moving the ball and find an answer to the zone I am sure will be coming in the 2nd half.
-
So far my I am impressed with SDSU's length and the team ball they play. Wondering why they went to a man defense and still wondering why we continue to struggle vs. the zone.
-
Anderson needs to sit for a while. No ball movement.
-
Congrats to both FU and Towson for making the final game.
-
We miss Brekke so much. Without a post player right now we are getting killed on the glass.
-
I'm with Ira. Amusing to see the criticism of players that transfer, but when fans are refusing to go to the games? Understandable cuz the product stinks, right?
I remember your fans booing Nick Mertens a few years back in the dome. No different really.
