agreed. To not take any credit as a coach when you get run off the court in the first 10 minutes is chicken !@#$. He has to go. It's embarrassing. Lots of very good D2 coaches in the area looking for an opportunity.
-
they won the conference due to taking advantage of a great conference schedule. Not sold on Montana's starting QB. He wasn't impressive week 1 vs the Bison and he wasn't real impressive today. He is their best option at that position though
-
MVFC fans were thinking the only teams that would beat their league were other MVFC teams.
-
Yes, WIU looked very competitive in the 52 point loss to NDSU. So they played a hard schedule, it's not like they were competitive in all those games.
-
arguing the irony of NDSU fans taking the time to come to this board telling is our FBS win this year doesn't count for anything based on record of opponent.
-
so Wyoming has 80 freshmen on their roster?
-
is it records or conferences that are important?
-
what were EIU and WIU's quality wins? Also, one has I love the irony of bison fans now discrediting FBS wins.
-
a couple teams raised the level of play. Not the entire conference.
-
I've heard Kolpack and Izzo on the radio multiple times this week crying about the MVFC teams being on the same side of the bracket. Kolpack thinks it's a conspiracy by the NCAA.
-
Jack Michaels was even making fun of his answers today on his radio show saying the guy talked in circles and wouldn't answer the questions Jack or Pinto was asking. Stated he asked 3 separate times why EIU or WIU and he wouldn't answer or gave three different answers. Laughed at the thought that a team that got beat by 52 can be thought of as a playoff team. I find it funnier that is the coach of the year in the MVFC.
-
I think it also depends on what the player is doing during that downtime. I'm guessing Studsrud put in a lot of time watching film and getting better even if he wasn't taking snaps.
-
This. The bowl game is not happening.
-
I thought about this. I also look at the QB at Montana (Gustofson). We will see how the playoffs shake out for that team but they have been lights out since he got back. With him I thought maybe the same thing where he was able to see how that offense should work from a different perspective. Having said that, hoping they don't lay an egg against SDSU.
-
Sucks if true. Not sure how he was progressing but he had offers from a good chunk of MVFC schools out of high school. Need to keep developing depth on the OL.
-
This is key. For years the MVFC only got a couple teams into the tournament and they than raised a fuss about how they were the "best conference" and should get more teams. I believe that is a big reason WIU got in this year and they put 5 teams in last year. The Big Sky needs a couple teams to make a run to prove the quality of football being played. Having some teams go deep into the playoffs or all the way will be a way to petition to get more teams in next season.
-
they are as much a quality loss as Eastern Illinois is a quality win.
-
Congrats to all the guys who won the awards and the team in general. UND is finally starting to get some recognition in this conference and it is because the play of the team this year.
-
But a 40+ point loss to a 5 win FBS opponent is a good loss. Going by quotes from the committee, 4 losses wasn't too many. We just didn't have as many quality losses as other teams.
-
Clearly we won more games than WIU so technically we won enough games. What are the criteria used by the committee?
-
Sure they could have but they still put themselves in position at the end of the year to be in.
-
He couldn't say that because its higher than New Hampshires. He specifically say SOS because ours is likely tougher than EIU. He can't specifically say anything about quality wins because we have more than EIU. He can't specifically say anything about D1 wins because we have more than WIU. But, we did not apparently have the quality losses other teams had. That has been specifically mentioned since Sunday.
-
Committee chairman couldn't even answer what is a quality win and what is a quality loss so they should start by clearly defining those for the committee.
-
^^^^^^^ This. They should have let Pinto do the interview. He wasn't scared to ask any question. Or keep it open to the phone lines like you said you were going to do. I had called in to ask the same question Westside had e-mailed and oddly enough they only took two phone calls from Bison fans.
-
He didn't back down from his decision but didn't give any answers to justify his decisions.
