  1. Don't forget the part in Idaho's contract that states which schools need to remain members of the league for them abide by said contract. This is surprising to see the report but people involved with the Big Sky have been hinting that conversations were being had for some time. If NMSU joins, I will believe something is up.
  2. Easy to say when it's not your next contract.
  3. They drafted their QB of the future. Why the concern? He'd actually be doing them a favor. The NFL is a business. He won't do himself any favors playing for a team with an average oline and zero running game.
  4. He was with the Rams when they were terrible and building their team of today and in Chip Kelly's !@#!$ system.
  5. In a perfect world he should compete. In the sports world, someone else will give him a shot and why should risk injury. Everyone knows they are not bringing him back no matter what. Why bye Wentz more time when he could compete with 10 other QBs in the league for a starting job.
  6. There are plenty of teams who would take a chance with him. Why risk getting injured this year? Let the Eagles sink or swim with Wentz. They need the draft picks. It's not college anymore.
  7. It's a business. He knows they aren't bringing him back no matter what. He's looking out for himself. This isn't high school or college anymore. Why risk getting injured before getting a long term deal. Have his best season somewhere else and make them regret reading the farm.

    2016 Season

Without knowing any details on Grady I imagine there has to be some form of petition to the NCAA for approval.
  9. I hope McFeely goes back and asks his "sources" at NDSU about how financially stable they are. Like I mentioned when he wrote the article, my neighbor works on their campus and people are very nervous and aware cuts are going to happen or need to happen. He also mentioned that could be why some recent contracts and things got finalized before any expenses started to be examined.
  10. Did McDermott leaving free up some dollars? Edit: Nevermind, I forgot about the Creighton transfer.
  11. Your football staff was selling their tickets?
  12. Didn't you read McFeely's article about every school but UND being in great financial shape?
  13. 25 very solid minutes a game is all we need from him. Teams that beat UND badly last year did it with a strong inside game.
  14. If the P5 schools create a rule about only scheduling G5 or higher there is a huge need for another G5 conference west of the Mississippi. Right now there is only 1 G5 and 2 P5. Anyone involved with with Big Sky that has discussed a Big Sky move up has talked about the void in the West.
  15. Your game of imaginary is fun. Maybe he's positioning UND's academics and athletics for what he wants them to look like in 5 years. Trim some programs and get UNDs athletic dept looking more like a program in the MWC.
  16. I've talked with my neighbor who is an NDSU employee and I think Mike better ask a few more questions. There are nervous people on that campus as they are doing just enough to get by. He really down plays Schafers quite in that article about "what he visions UND to look like in 5 years. " Also, NDSU cries every year about funding. Can't wait until that happens again. Is McFeely on FU's payroll?

    2016 Season

That is surprising. Glad to have him back as I enjoyed listening to his broadcasts.
  18. You can't sponsor 21 sports and also complain about coaches salaries, recruiting budgets, etc. The decision while unpopular was the correct decision for the athletic dept.
  19. I can't imagine the travel budgets of either of those two sports was small.
  20. Those people are paying more to get into games now by purchasing a general admission ticket. You can't charge SRO when the games aren't sold out. You are also forgetting about travel costs, equipment costs and salaries. Cutting programs saves money. I just don't agree with the ones cut.
  21. Someone should ask Rob how many kids attend college who are on partial scholarships or walk on to sports programs, play in the band or major in programs such as sports medicine. Some of these kids than graduate and donate back to the university. I'm not saying subsidizing athletics through student fees is completely right but there is some ROI on college athletics.
  22. I like this. May be cramped (maybe not) but showcase that facility again. Better than being in the rain.
