  1. What exactly was he implying by "women's hockey holding football back"? Certainly not by taking players, facilities or fans. He could have only been implying $$$.
  2. Cause their quarterback wasn't very good. Teams will stack the box and cover #84 Their offense doesn't look anywhere else Their secondary was average. Apparently they lack depth
  3. We will see as the season plays along. It's not taking anything away from NDSU as they will be there at the end but CSU is very one dimensional. Indeed them losing to Florida St and Coastal Carolina in the coming weeks. They'll have to run the rest of the conference schedule to sneak in. 7-4 with a DII win should not get anyone in the playoffs.
  4. http://www.newsday.com/sports/college/stony-brook/stony-brook-football-preview-what-seawolves-need-to-do-to-make-fcs-playoffs-1.12234180
  5. After four weeks they will likely be 1-3 with their win over a DII school. Not much room for error in the rest of the conference season.
  6. We know he reads the board. I haven't read anyone say that all the resources from women's hockey should get dumped into football. It was a good article, glad he wrote it. The message of that the AD and president should be able to make these decisions without input from the med and aerospace colleges is the main point and one everyone.
  7. If NDSU's defense is at all vulnerable this year it is through the air.
  8. Good game. One dimensional teams don't fair well in Fargo. CSU won't be a playoff team this year. FU vs EWU should be pretty good in a couple weeks. Glad the season is here.
  9. I have a feeling it will be like the game tonight. First game rust with the defenses from both teams making plays. Hoping our young oline gels quick or Keaton is going to have to win us a game.
  10. Can't wait until Thursday night.
  11. Tickets are free And there is 10000+ empty seats. I don't expect them to draw 11000 but if interest is there for the sport I expect more.
  12. I understand the effort they put in. I also see that the athletic dept is losing money, state funding is going backwards and free tickets aren't bringing fans to women's hockey games. I'll give you something to think about for a second, even having two local Olympic athletes on the team couldn't drive interest in the sport.
  13. Football is also the sport most schools invest the most heavily in due to interest in the sport and exposure for the university. Everyone knows why UNO dropped it after moving D1. It's about 50 miles southwest of Omaha.
  14. They could get those same experiences as a club sport or another university. It's getting to the point where math and logic has to also be applied to varsity sport sponsorship.
  15. I'm not telling those girls anything, the 10,000 empty seats when tickets are free speak loud enough. Not only are "males" on this message board talking but the public is as well. No one had a hard time showing up for the "girls" volleyball game last night.
  16. I'll look at potential return on investment and I'll start with coaching salaries. The discrepancy should be reversed in this case. Your reasons above are the reasons women's hockey should be cut.
  17. For the first part- if they can give solid reasons why women's hockey should stay, it can't be argued. Present facts, not feelings. Hard to argue with facts that specific program if it stays should stay funded to the level it currently is. Second paragraph- why can't they have both? In order to have both, each needs to be properly funded. One has been the last few seasons and the other hasn't. Having 21 sports to fund hasn't allowed for that. Next would be the argument of which program, if equally successful brings the most potential for national r cognition to the university if they truly are a "front porch to the entire campus".
  18. Someone really needs to explain why. Based on numbers and support it can't be justified when stacked against other women's sports. Title IX excuse isn't the reason.
  19. The hockey town doesn't support women's hockey. There may be an outcry but not many weekend afternoons would be ruined because of it. If done properly, laying out facts, it would be tough to argue the decision.
  20. Let's see if the committee has the balls to bring up women's hockey. The president likely has sports in mind. Hopefully that is one of them.
  21. The email sent out stated one idea being looked at is switching conferences. We also need to trim some sports.

    2016 Season

Delusional is the bison fans posting on there that UND is a season away from dropping football. Again, more insecurity out of Fargo. We will see where UND ends up. The expectations are playoffs. For some reason that is ok for fans to have that everywhere but GF.
  23. Thanks for the feedback. Our secondary is the biggest question mark of our defense so that should make for an interesting matchup. I was impressed with SB defense the last time we saw them. They will likely be one of the best defenses we see all season and will be a challenge for our inexperienced O-line.
