    I prefer the 1:00pm starts. It's a time zone advantage for the team and I get to watch the best FBS games as a fan.

    Some of the same people I have seen post on social media how they hate the logo were the same who voted for Hawks because "How About We Keep Sioux". Sticking it to the man. I have yet to ever seen a non cartoonish or really cool tough looking animal mascot so I am not sure what people expected. The only disappointment I have from yesterday is retiring the ND. The rest should have been seen when the Hawks name won the vote.

    As it was introduced yesterday, no I don't think that will look great on a hockey jersey. However I would deal with it if it was. The hockey jerseys with the Sioux logo were very nice, when that logo went away the jerseys were very nice. I have no reason to believe with all the resources thrown at that program (and rightfully so) the new ones won't be very nice. I even think they will look nothing like the artwork tweeted yesterday that has been reposted 100s of times.

    But at the end of all that, the only thing they care about is $$$$. When is the last time the NCAA was truly concerned with PR?

    At the end of the day that is the only reason.

    One was responding to no longer being able to play for this university, the other to a logo design that at the end of the day has no effect on the experience they will have at this university, in the classroom or on the ice. Regardless of the name, they will be equally prepared to compete at the next level and still be given every advantage to prepare. They may not like the logo but at least they have the opportunity to compete and coach next season. Their responses today have been pretty consistent with the entire process.

    The baseball team handled their program getting cut better than the hockey team handled a new logo. In today's world, getting taught how others perceive your social media posts is more important in some cases than what is being taught in class.

    I don't 100% agree with SV but please explain how a conference that is smaller in total schools with those schools being more aligned in academic focus and athletic focus is disastrous? I'd argue that a 13 team conference or a conference made up of mostly directional schools is more dangerous to an athletic department.

    Not sure how things shake out as far as rankings go but taking a very early look at our schedule, if we go 7-4 we don't get in next season. Have to be 8-3 or better. I don't think any of the 3 non conference games are a gimme. USD will also be a very big challenge at home.

    Need to see an improvement on numbers in town during the summer. It has to be the expectation. This is DII anymore and was really an area the past staff was below expectation.

    Has anyone contacted the GF fire dept. to get their opinion on how they would handle the aging 100 year old buildings if they caught on fire?

    The odds of getting a quality QB to transfer in when there is a two year starter in place is slim. Most of those guys transfer to a place where the starting spot can be guaranteed prior to showing up.

    So just avoid maintenance until the building is ready to crumble. Was that the strategy with another building on NDSU's campus?
