  1. I'd love to see a game of total domination. Cal poly like from last season.

    Cal Poly vs UND

We should be favored in a lot of games but the team has to prove they are mature enough to handle the pressure IF they keep winning. Also we are not deep enough to handle any more injuries at some positions. Plus you can look back at games 1-4 to see a pretty anemic offense. We still need to prove last week was expectation on offense and not a fluke. Thank you for the compliment though and we would love to see C-P again in December.
  3. Great interview that shows an outstanding personality of that young man. Glad he came to UND to finish his college career.

Not if the DL makes plays. There were times the Cal Poly oline was too quick to try and get second level and the d line made plays. Watch the tape and some of Tank and Greely's plays were made with them being untouched and in standard fronts.
  5. Studs and his young WR's will have to win games for us here on out. They won't have to throw for 300+ but need to make enough plays so we don't see the defenses we saw vs Mont. St. I agree with others that the last wrinkle to add to the offense is a play action, TE seam route. Maybe we don't see it until SUU.
  6. I am hoping Taubs can shake his inconsistency of kicking outdoors this week. I'm with you though and think he misses a couple.
  7. I'd love to see a blowout, not 100% confident it will happen. UND- 27 Sac. St- 17
  8. Any buyout money??
  9. They will never know unless they order. I was there last week and stopped in before leaving town. I would have scooped up a couple for the kids if they had them.
  10. That last series wasn't on Rudolph. That swing pass was open for a huge gain with a better ball. Yeah, I think everyone would have like to seen more more time run off but that was a first down and a field turning play. Missed execution.
  11. I thought he looked good. Quicker than I thought. Hopefully the injury to Santiago isn't serious. Gordon could fill in for a couple of weeks nicely.
  12. Great game by the offense today. Worst enemy was themselves with some bad turnovers but they moved with tempo and the line played outstanding. Getting nicked up but this was a huge win. No let down next week.

tough news on injuries. Not a ton of depth at CB and OL.
  14. Picking UND because games like this are ones they have to win. Still not 100% sold on the offense but think they do enough. Defense needs to stay out of 3rd and less than 3. Taubs is a different kicker in the Al. UND- 23 Poly- 21 Must win game for UND

    Couldn't or chose not to?
  16. If there is a position that is the most difficult to make an impact at immediately it is o line. Very few 18-19 year old men can come in and complete right away.
  17. Why is this in the recruiting thread?

Studsrud needs to play the game he did in Bozeman and we need to eliminate the penalties and make field goals Im going to assume the obvious PI calls that should have been called in Bozeman get called this week. Those were brutal and don't understand how an official misses three calls when a DB is hanging on a receivers arm.

    Cal Poly vs UND

I think Poly's rush defense statistics are inflated due to playing games against SDSU and Montana. Both are pass first teams who are more effective moving the ball that way. Teams (Nevada and San Diego) that have tried to establish a running game have averaged near 5 ypc against them.
  20. We will win more games this year with what we have than when we had that combo on offense.

    Cal Poly vs UND

As always vs Poly keeping them out of 3rd and 2 or 3 will be key. Also crowd noise needs to be a factor. As Oxbow said yesterday, the remaining schedule after this one is favorable but this is a huge game. Need to find a way to win.
  22. One of the all conference guys did transfer in when the staff got here and the other two were the two best olinemen that staff recruited while they were here. Really broke out their senior years. You make a backhanded statement about the oline depth not being the old staffs fault right away and than state how terrible the pass protection was a few years ago. It's not a stretch to state that Muss' staff did either not recruit or develop quality olinemen. Our QB didn't play bad yesterday. Some untimely drops (I believe it was Toinivan early) and missed PI calls (Stanley, Toinivan and #34 I believe on 2nd last drive) hurt some drives he was leading.
  23. Maybe a marketing person.
  24. Shame on the marketing department for trying to build excitement in the offseason.
