  1. Lets hope for numerous overtimes so that either team we play tomorrow is exhausted...
  2. CONGRATS KAIP!!! What a first goal, it was beautiful! Let's go boys... momentum is swinging in our favor right now, keep it up!!!!
  3. Stafford praticed yesterday with the team... leaving the WI staff confused as to if he is going to play (he isn't), but if the Badgers are spending time trying to figure out if Stafford is going to play, they aren't on their best game... Announcers think that the NHL ice will give UND a slight edge They also think Zajac, Toews, and Chorney were snubbed in regards to WCHA teams. They think Smaby should be on a higher up team. They think Poultney should be MVP. Lots of comments on ROY... "when it comes to on the ice performance, TJ Oshie was the rookie of the year" They would like to see the voting published, so they can see who voted for who. Choney and Kozek interviewed in pregame. Chorney - We've come a long way since we last played the Badgers. No freshman anymore... Badgers play solid defensively, good goaltender. Will have to use our speed and take the attack to them. UW and SCSU are two of the toughest teams to play against. We're gonna have to screen their goalie, maybe score some ugly goals. Learned a lot from the World Juniors. A lot more confident. Helps a lot to have played with Lee all season long, can read off of each other. Was huge to not have to play in the play in game. Our goal is to win the tournament, we think we've got a good enough team to do it. Like the NHL rink as opposed to the Olympic rink. Opportunity to play two great teams, that could be HUGE for our pairwise. Ever since the loss to St Cloud we've started to turn the corner, every game we are getting better. Hopefully we just keep improving game by game. Being young doesn't put as much pressure on us... we just come out and suprise people Game plan - Get a lead, UW isn't very good when playing from behind. Earl is going to take a few dives, maybe up to ten, but get out there and pound these guys into submission Kozek - apparently no Kozek...
  4. Why not green for St Patricks Day... might as well match the rest of the arena
  5. WISioux, never heard of him, but I have heard of Duluth Marshall. A pretty good program. However, why next year? The SIoux aren't looking for a goaltender for next year unless Jordy finds a miracle contract and goes pro. I say miracle because I think he'll be here all four years. Not really sure... I don't know the kid personally, I was going through my friend. Perhaps he could spend some time in juniors and then come and play for us. Just throwing another name out there
  6. Does anyone know anything about a goalie, Jason Paul, from Marshall School in Duluth? From a friend that graduated from that school last year, I hear that is pretty good and is thinking about going to UND next year... he's a senior. I haven't heard anything about him... so I have no idea. I see that he was named to the Class A
  7. Maybe goalie recruits are looking at our solid, young goaltenders and they know that they won't get much playing time so they opt to go elsewhere. I would like to see the Sioux get a few more recruits, but at the same time I realize with the HUGE freshman class that we just had, you can only have so many people on the team... It's hard to say who will be leaving early
  8. My friend and I have three tickets for Saturday's game, section 108 row C that we are looking to get rid of. Catch is that we will be leaving Grand Forks after the game on Friday night to head home for spring break... EDIT: Thanks Sioux Yeah Yeah

    Toews

Sorry, I didn't mean to post this twice. The first time I was told it did not go through

    Toews

17-year-old rookie has come on strongly lately for the UND men's hockey team. Just thought that I would share this article with everyone. I thought that it was interesting to see the special relationship between Stafford and Toews, seeing as they both came in as 17 year olds.
  11. I've got a story on how bad the Ralph box office is. My friend and I who are students here at UND decided that we wanted to go to the series this year in St Cloud. We went to the Ralph to purchase our tickets on Tuesday and we were told that the person in charge of tickets for the away series was working in the Betty at the basketball game, could we come back the next day. We agreed. We went back on Wedensday afternoon and spoke to an older women (non-college student). We were told that we could purchase our tickets right then and we paid. However when she went into the little back room to get the tickets she came back with nothing. She explained that she wasn't in charge of the tickets, and there were two piles and she didn't know which ones had been sold, and which ones she could give out. She asked if we could come back later in the day. We told her that both of us had class until after they were closed, but that we would be back tomorrow (Thursday) morning to pick up our tickets. We returned on Thursday, our third trip there, and explained to a new person that we had purchased tickets, but they didn't give them to us because they didn't know which ones to give out. They took our names, went into the back room and talked to another person. We could tell that it wasn't going to be good, and when they came back out we were right. We were informed that our tickets had been sent with the team to St Cloud that morning, and that we could pick them up there. We had no receipt or proof that we had these tickets and were nervous about driving all the way to St Cloud and being told that we had no tickets. In the end it turned out alright, our tickets were there... but there is absolutly no reason that it should have taken us four tries to get our tickets!
  12. Actually, the students had the option of buying Regional tickets at the same time as the regular season ticket holders, in the current student section. October 10th - October 31st: UND students * UND students will have an opportunity to purchase tickets in the current UND student section. These tickets will be available at a reduced student-rate of $49 until Oct. 31 and may be purchased only at the Ralph Engelstad Arena box office with a current UND student ID. Limit one ticket per ID. http://www.fightingsioux.com/sports/mhocke...RELEASE_ID=4116 I know that I got my tickets, and the people that I normally go to the games with did as well. I think there will be a good showing of students...
  13. That's awesome...

    Sioux/DU

Things went bad in the third period last night. There were numerous factors, and numerous results. Would the game have been different if Finley hadn't been kicked out? We will never know. If we really want home ice for the playoffs then we're gonna have to play a solid 120 minutes of hockey. I don't think that we should be looking past Michigan Tech... We really need a sweep, and that might not be as easy as some people think. We really need the Badgers to step it up, but after this weekend, I'm not too sure that is gonna happen any time soon! Even if we sweep MTU what happens if WI doesn't beat SCSU? Let's just focus on our own team, our own game, and stay outta the box!!!

Elliott is back... he was playing earlier in the game tonight, but I believe that someone said they pulled him...

    Sioux/DU

Could the DU announcers possibly mention one more time that this is the fastest DU has scored this year??? Smaby is definatly put some big hits on people! We need to focus and we can definatly be back in this game!!! Let's Go Sioux
  19. You must have checked either Yahoo or ESPN... both of which are wrong. Turns out that Minnesota beat UAA 4-3, sorry to spoil your night... but hey... at least the Sioux won!!!
  20. I was at the North/Grafton game... I thought that it was a great game! (however I was cheering for North). I thought it seemed pretty fair both ways... although there were times that I was saying the ref needed to put his whistle away. Some impressive goaltending tonight... good luck to both teams in the rest of the tournament
  21. If they played the Gophers of the Sioux, would they have to play two games? With OSU they are only playing one game. That way they can take Friday night to have team dinners in the Lambeau Field Atrium, sign autographs, and look at the Stanley Cup/Lombardi Trophies. I personally think that it is a very good idea. I agree that OSU was probably not the best team that they could have selected, but it will still be a good game. If I was at home in Wisconsin, I would definatly be going.
  22. My cousins played lacrosse for their high school in Green Bay and really loved it. I know that the younger of the two was trying to look for a college with a team that he could play intercollegiatly on, but wasn't able to find one. I believe that he might still be playing club lacrosse at University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. I was never able to attend a game, but I've seen it on tv some... would be neat to watch, but travel costs to other schools would be HUGE for a start up sport
  23. Can we say that perhaps Parise's numbers are better because he has played in more games... he was able to develope a routine, a grove, and get into it. When you play one or two games a month, you can't possible get into as good of a routine. With that said, we do have two (maybe three, I don't know) amazing goalies that could start on any D1 team. We should be glad that we can even have this debate. In the end, our opinion doesn't matter at all. We all have our own favorites no matter what the reason may be... but Hak is who is going to make the choice, and I doubt he's on here reading to see who we want to play...
  24. I was wondering the same thing about the CC-SCSU series next week... SCSU is one point ahead of us, CC is one point behind us... that's tough!
  25. Three Stars: 1. Crabb 2. Rau 3. Zajac
