  1. What does a thread regarding JT's WJC comments have to do with Kessel? Answer - nothing! PK is a good player (the scouts say so, coaches say so, my eyes tell me so), he plays for a team other than the Sioux, who cares, move on, let it go. End of rant!
  2. Hakstol stated during the pregame show that Radke has played okay, but okay is not good enough at this point. I don't think it is inconceivable for DH to send a message to certain players, especially at this point in the season. DB benched a lot of big name players during his tenure and they typically responded quite well.
  3. His comments were from tonight's pregame show. Something along the line of Radke's been okay, but they need better than okay at this point. He is getting a chance tonight to show the coaches something. Kaip just hasn't done much. He isn't generating any offense and doesn't have any goals.
  4. bs dq's, if you ask me (sorry to hijack the thread).
  5. Landon Wilson Parise, Greene and Jones Brad Berry
  6. dq's changed to misconducts according to collegehockeystats.com. It helps opponents when Harrington is in the lineup. Gophs had 31 shots in the 3rd - 66 for the game!!! hahahaha
  7. could he still play for the Sioux?!
  8. He is in, Marvin out. Foyt in, Kaip out. Not the kindest words from Hak about Radke's and Kaip's play of late.
  9. The fact that they drafted him in the first round knowing he was going to attend college would indicate that, in this case, they were not overlooking "collegiate" players. I am sure the Blues are enjoying what they are seeing from him this season. . . . hopefully not so much though that they make a big push for him this offseason.
  10. Technically he didn't touch the ice, but during Friday's warmups Porter accidently took Walski's skates out from under him and he hit the ice fairly hard and crashed into the boards. It looked like he got a good chuckle out of it.
  11. And he brought Hobey winner, Mottau, to his knees - that was cool!
  12. Good call. Eaves in lineup for now (some comments included about Bo).
  13. Oshie is INCH player of the week. Gotta love that website, eh?!
  14. That was Gopher fans. You do realize they like to riot when good things happen!
  15. Although I think Miller was a worthy winner (I think Panzer was just as worthy), the part that amazed me is that Panzer, as previously mentioned by a poster, fininshed in a tie for second with Gionta - AND I believe Panzer won the fan vote which jumped him into that tie. Otherwise, he is third. 2003 provides a good comparison to 2001: Dave LeNevue (Cornell) - 28-3-1, 1.20 GAA, .940 save%, 9 shutouts and team in frozen four - he didn't win award. Peter Senja did win with 36-46-82 line and team not in frozen four. (For comparison purposes Panzer in 2001 was 26-55-81 and leader of the national runner-up team). In other words, from year to year, who knows how or why things shake out as they do with the voters??
  16. It is neither here nor there, but the game was during early February 1996 and I will never forget the one goal you mentioned. UMN was the dominate team in the country up to that point as mentioned. They hadn't lost in 19 games leading up to the series in GF and seconds after Wooger pulls Jeff Moen in the second period, freshman Jay Panzer walks in and roofs one over DeBus and the place exploded. Moen was reinserted in net, but it didn't matter. The Sioux won convincingly. The other great part of that weekend, other than the sweep, was Virg's article in Sunday's paper. Evidently, leading up to the series Bonin and Wynne were neck in neck in the national scoring race and Bonin commented to the media during an interview before the series something like "who is Teeder Wynne?" Wynne of course had a huge weekend - 7 or 8 points - and took over the national scoring lead. Virg's Sunday article started simply with, "Brian Bonin meet Teeder Wynne."
  17. I see that Edmonton just recalled a d-man from the ECHL! That seems like quite a leap. Is it someone that was on a rehab assignment? Does anybody know how Greene is doing down in Iowa?
  18. Off the top of my head: Hrkac 21 Joyce 20 Johnson 7 Kidd 4 Krampotich 8 Koberinski 15 Parks 11 Davidson 14 Benson 6 Dub 19 Bobyck 25 Parent 17 Paranica 22 Baron 3 Belfour 29 Bowen 9 Nako 10 I hope I am not too far off with these numbers and, hopefully, this will be helpful.
  19. Jacques Lamoureaux is NAHL Player of the Week. It appears that he is playing quite well this season.
  20. '86-87 roster. Sorry I cannot find a team picture, but at least this link gives you the names of the players from that season. Also, I have the print and will pm you next week when I return home from the holiday. I can fill in most of the players identities for you.
  21. Obviously, the St. Louis Blues were not too concerned that he only played Class A hockey. I suppose being a first-round draft pick isn't really noteworthy either?
  22. My thoughts exactly. 30 career games - 0 goals, 4 assists. He plays an important role on the team, but providing offense isn't what he brings to the table.
  23. Red Line Report. Top-heavy 2006 draft pool looking weak overall Also worth noting Forney is listed at #10.
