  1. I was thinking back to some of the great goals scored this year by the Sioux and was curious if others felt the same or had others in mind that were more memorable. Some of my favorites: Andy Schneider's end-to-end rush and goal against Manitoba (I know just an x game, but still a nice goal). Mike Prpich's individual effort in Duluth walking around d-man, getting the goalie down and out of the crease and before flipping it into the net. Rory McMahon's goal off the faceoff against Duluth in the playoffs. (my second favorite goal of the year). Erik Fabian's first goal in the Frozen Four when he lifted Stevens stick and slid the puck past Briggs. Kyle Radke's slapshot from the blueline off the draw against BSU and Matt Greene's wrister from the blueline against UMN in the Final Five. Drew Stafford scoring USA's first goal against Russia on Xmas Day, which about blew the roof off the building. (I admit, not a UND goal, but still Sioux-related) and of course ---> Spirko undressing Harrington and Briggs on the same play in the Final Five. Of course there are others worth mentioning, but these stick out in my mind.
  2. I like how you think, but why not simplify by bringing the soda you purchased into a bathroom stall regardless. Shut the door and mix it up; you have privacy as there are NO security cameras in the REA restrooms (for obvious reasons)! Also, during winter, which takes care of most of the hockey season, loading, but not overloading, miniatures into gloves (choppers) works very well, at least it did in the day and at past FF's While holding both choppers in one hand, open your coat for security. The open coat creates the diversion and security won't likely consider squeezing your gloves. btw, with your permission, I would like to adopt your disclaimer as it relates to this matter?!
  3. That is a fairly decent nonconference schedule. A little different look next year with Northeastern and Harvard coming in and a home and home with Bemidji and away games with UNH and MSU and Miami - I like it. I notice that after Wisco plays at REA on Nov. 4-5, there isn't another home series until the Gophs on Dec. 9-10 - that is quite a span without home hockey, but Duluth and St. Cloud are always fun roadtrips!
  4. Perhaps ND has since backed out, but UND's participation was publicly reported by Coach Hakstol over a month ago, however, assuming the date of the tourney is Oct. 14-15, I don't know how UND could be playing in Ohio and at home against Northeastern on the same weekend. Split squad perhaps?
  5. What? You mean the "vodka" source might be giving bad or misleading information?! Greene says he hasn't decided; Hakstol says it's 50/50; for now that seems a bit more reliable!
  6. Exactly. I would venture a guess that if someone started a poll, God forbid, asking whether Sioux fans wanted Greene to return or felt it best that he leave, that the results would be a landslide in favor of his return. Just like Blais said about Commodore's departure being the difference in UND not repeating in 2001, Greene's return could likely be the difference maker in UND's drive toward a trip to Milwaukee next season.
  7. I couldn't attend Fargo Sioux Boosters today, but a friend of mine did. Here is what he told me: Evidently, Hakstol thinks Smaby will be back and said that it is about 90/10 he returns. DH noted MS's development of late and how he is in the right place to continue that development and believes that Tampa understands that. He wasn't as sure about Matt Greene and gave him only a 50/50 chance of returning, but from what DH said, MG hasn't yet made any decisions. Some very, very, very general comments about recruiting, NOTHING about specific recruits. UND may be bringing in up to three more guys for next season, but will know more after the playoffs end up in Canada. There is the possibility of another commit coming soon.
  8. He missed a few games following the removal of his wisdom teeth.
  9. Moreland broke his thumb about a month or so ago on a Jets swing through Montana. I believe he underwent surgery to repair the broken bone(s). Of the 5 players that have already signed, at least 3 are going to the Atlantic Hockey Association, which isn't exactly a powerhouse (Canisius tied for second in the league last year; Mercyhurst gave BC a run before the Eagles were smoked by the Sioux during the regionals): Quinnipiac 34 Canisius 31 Mercyhurst 31 Holy Cross 29 Sacred Heart 27 Connecticut 22 Bentley 17 Army 13 American Int'l 12
  10. Book what? Was there a prediction that I missed?
  11. I am guessing that your opinion would be different if you had the opportunity to see him play this year. He was a much different player from the year before. If UND loses either one or both Matt's, they may need all three of the players you listed!
  12. Please tell me that means you are taking his computer away!
  13. Don't kid yourself, MM. When I met you on Thursday, I think the first thing you said to me after nice to meet you is, "have you seen PCM, I already miss him and I just got here"
  14. I thought this would be a good place to track what this year's seniors do now that they have finished their college careers (the end of the season is just too fresh to put the info in the former players thread, imo). I heard this afternoon that Genoway flew out earlier today to play a few games with Hartford of the AHL (Rangers affiliate). If true, I wish him well.
  15. As reported earlier on this site by someone who had spoken with a Hardwick family member, there is a good chance KH will don the green and white. As for Ammerman, he visited Ohio State and Nebraska-Omaha - evidently, both visits went well and UNO has made a scholarship offer. I don't think it is that Ammerman isn't garnering interest, I believe it is that he may be waiting for one school in particular to show interest.
  16. Although I agree that his status is up in the air and there probably remains some medical uncertainty, word from one sioux hockey parent that I spent some time with in Columbus is that Kaip will play next season.
  17. Because of this great forum and site, I think the Sioux fans that encounter you should buy you a beer - I know I will if I see you. btw, are there really SiouxSports.com sweatshirts? If so, very cool!
  18. Jordan Parise article from Tuesday's Forum.
