  1. I am curious, does the fact that you joined this board during May of 2005 mean that you just jumped on the Sioux bandwagon less than a year ago? I have to assume the answer is yes based on the logic above. And Diggler's a fake because he has become a fan of one of better players on his favorite team? Dang, my head is spinning. Oh, the irony.
  2. I wasn't referring to any UND players.
  3. Although this isn't related to his hockey skills, it does reflect on his character. One of the things I most enjoy about watching Oshie is that when he scores, he acts like he's done it before. He usually just raises his arms briefly, gets a few helmet taps and then back to business. Last night he hardly even smiled after his goal (a sweet goal at that), which is a sign to me that he is into the game and not concerned about his stats, but more so with how the team is faring. I don't recall seeing any of the jersey popping, glass crashing or anything like that. I don't mind some emotion and celebration but some players act like they just scored the game winning goal in the Stanley Cup finals EVERY TIME they score, which gets to be a little absurd at times.
  4. I am curious whether this is just a run-of-the-mill statement or an implication regarding the Kycia case?
  5. Haven't seen this mentioned yet, but Michael Forney has been named as one of ten finalists for Minnesota's Mr. Hockey award.
  6. I don't agree. That may have applied to years '02-'04, but certainly not last year - especially the last two months and it is a stretch to say, based on the numbers, that Parise isn't #1 this year. In 2001, which was Karl's senior season, he played in 29 of 46 games and Andy played in 19 or 46. By comparison, last season Jordan played in 27 of 45 and Phil played in 18 of 45. There is hardly a difference in those numbers and both seasons ended with the same result, national runner-up. In 2000, Karl played in 30 of 44 and Andy 15 of 44. By comparison, this season Karl has played in 20 of 32 and Phil 13 of 32. And I have to believe that Phil numbers of late are slightly inflated due to Jordan's injury. It is an interesting comparison and clearly, based on the numbers alone, if Karl was the #1 tender in both '00 and '01, which he was, it is hard to say that Jordan wasn't #1 last season and hasn't been up to this point in this season. Additionally, Karl played in 118 career games. Jordan has already played in 69 and barring injury, early departure or incredibly poor play, he will likely approach or surpass 100 career games. In the program's history only 3 players have broken that threshold, but it is a real possibility for Jordan. I am not comparing their play, God forbid, just the numbers.
  7. Actually, Jeff Ulmer was the third member of that line. Jason was a freshman that season and often skated on a line with Armbrust and Defauw.
  8. TH says UND is healthy throughout lineup. Martens and Marvin are the extra players on the trip, but neither dressed tonight.
  9. Per TH: 9 frosh in UND's lineup tonight. 1 frosh, 3 sophs in CC's. Time for some folks to step it up . . .
  10. A team that gives up only two goals a game is generally going to have more wins than losses. Wins are a good thing.
  11. In a way he did: October 17, 2003; freshman; first official game; 13 days short of his 18th birthday; BC/UND; #1 and #2 in the country; nationally televised game. Third period, game tied, he beats a BC d-man on the outside before sliding a harmless looking puck past Kaltiainen for the game winning goal in a 6-4 UND victory. I think he made a fairly strong statement that night. Some people just don't need a microphone in their face to say what they gotta say!
  12. Stafford - green Lundbohm - black
  13. Off the knee, into the net - a thing of beauty! I believe it was Joey Martin that passed it out front.
  14. From today's Forum (sorry I cannot find a link): Christian said "it was too good of an offer to pass up." It looks like he will join SCSU for the '07-08 season. It also stated that he made an unofficial visit to UND, but SCSU's offer was the first he received. There were further comments about JC wanting to be part of a winning tradition that he believes Motzko, one of his instructors at the UofM summer camp, is starting to build.
  15. Do you have a tourney schedule or link? Thanks.
  16. I haven't seen this anywhere yet. If I missed a similar thread, I apologize. UND Athletics to auction men
  17. I am sure he will be glad to know that you approve of his opinion of his team!
  18. Psst - check the Sioux roster, look for #2. They don't get much bigger than that.
  19. Haven't seen this anywhere yet . . . Gophers juggling lineup.
