  1. U2Bad1, I meant that it was inconclusive to me. The camera angle was pretty poor to see anything, as it was the high mid-sideline angle so you couldn't see the UND players much past the PSU players.
  2. Is it the NFL or the NCAA where if a player leaps, and then lands on a teammate it's a penalty? They showed the replay- but it was inconclusive. Sioux fans- If you want to see some I-AA football (Big Sky's own Montana ) after the Sioux game, Montana vs. New Hampshire is on ESPN2 just started at 3:00, so you should be able to catch the entire second half. Probably worth it just to see Montana's stadium.
  3. The PSU offense hasn't been that great, other their ability to just keep chuggin along on some of these drives
  4. I can sit on the couch and watch the game on TV, or I can watch the game from my comfy chair in front of my PC, while watching another game on the PC. I'm not so absorbed into the rivalry that I won't cheer for UND if NDSU is not playing.
  5. UND D better start clamping down. TOP is something like 11:00 vs. 2:00 for Pitt St. UND's depth might get worn down if PSU keeps sustained drives going
  6. It was a hit to the helmet, leading with the helmet. That's a penalty.
  7. Good punt? By my quick calculations that was over 70 yards!!!!!
  8. McFeely is paid to get people talking with his editorial pieces. He enjos trying to stir the pot, just like Ed Schultz did on the radio to get people talking .
  9. Hmmmmm...... Letter by Kupchella to UND football letterman on Division I issue A move to DI based on a threat to pride and emotion? Smells like a recipe for disaster.

    Division I

Why not ask Roger Thomas how over $400k of red ink worked out last year? The 2003/2004 OPE stats are up-http://ope.ed.gov/athletics/InstList.asp
  11. Just think of them as counterpoints to the great journalistic classics, such as: Bisons' D-I move doesn't make sense Division I? Say no! 'Sucker's game' Just be glad The Forum doesn't carry the UND beat. There would be a lot more accountability on UND's part.
  12. Sicatoka, That would make sense, but developers and investors are much like the NCAA. Throw reason to the wind.
  13. A player only has to sit out if he is going from a I-A school to a I-A school. This is why many I-A transfers go to a I-AA school. DI(A and AA) have a five consecutive year clock for eligibility. If a player redshirts and then transfers from a I-A to a I-A, he would only have three years of actual playing time(with the one year he would have to sit out and the redshirt year as part of the five years).
  14. LOL I don't know who was doing color with Pat, but my wife (defender of all things GF) asked "Who is that guy with Pat Sweeny? He sure isn't good." Anyhow, back to the subject- Congrats, good win for UND. I thought GVSU had a slight advantage in athletes on the field, but UND definitely had a better TEAM and coaching staff.
  15. BigGame, It was a tongue-in-cheek comment about the bubble screen. There was an in-depth discussion about the proper use of the bubble and tunnel screen names a couple months back. Of course there are about a million different name variations, but it's fairly well known that a bubble screen goes towards the sidelines, and a tunnel (other common name: jailbreak) screen goes towards the center of the field. These are the most common names for two completely opposite plays- much like a go and a hitch route (or whatever other terms are used for those).
  16. From a somewhat objective viewpoint, it was a well-called game. A few missed calls on both sides, but no more than an average game. Pat Sweeney was freaking out on the missed facemask call on the safety, but then again, he was calling tunnel screens by the improper bubble screen name.
  17. Stats for a school in the first year of transition are recorded under DII (or DII if applicable).
  18. Actually, it was less than 12,400 in 2003. 12,267 to be exact.
  19. I've stated this before, but here's the short version: Very nice indoor arena, with all the amenitites. My biggest complaints: low ceiling and too shallow of a pitch in the seating which creates less-than-desirable sight lines. If either of these complaints of mine were remedied, however, the Alerus would probably not be as loud or hostile for opposing teams. Fun atmosphere, as standing was encouraged. Of course, I prefer outdoor football, but only in climates where it stays above 40 degrees during football season.
