  1. My bad - sometimes sarcasm is hard to spot on this thread
  2. Exactly this - I had hopes that Karl would be the missing piece but so far we are always getting our goalies from the portal - not what I expected year after year. A hot goalie is essential to the playoffs.
  3. And it's been going on his entire Sioux career - after over 10 years you would think a light would go on. HIs deer in the headlights attitude is catchy.
  4. Really? - Berry's needs to get a team to play the full 60 every game. We often take time to coast and lose focus - this is a huge problem - see last year's regionals where for some reason we didn't come out of the locker room to start the 3rd. His record in regionals is pathetic.
  5. You make a valid point about the photo - I think people are glomming on to it real or not because it appears to be a perfect visual metaphor for our leadership for many seasons now. As far as dealing with the issue at the end of the season - I am an alumni and lifelong fan who has season tickets for football and hockey and am a member of the Captain's Club. I have written Chaves with my concerns last year and again this year. I feel that I have absolutely no avenue to push for change - after my email to Chaves last year he promptly extended Bubba. Other than complaining on this site and writing the AD there appears to be no way to effect any changes. Clearly Chaves doesn't get it or doesn't want to. The total state of our Athletics is very mediocre and we as fans feel helpless. If the Good Old Boys Club is real I wish they would get it in gear.
  6. Seems like everybody that follows the program knows what the problem is except the person who oversees UND Athletics. Time for a change starting at the top.
  7. Perhaps the only person more clueless than Bubba - he embraces mediocrity.
  8. We got shut out - how is this better?
  9. Played well but scored 1 even strength goal this weekend against a middle of the road team. Not buying it.
  10. Jerry should have been in with about 10 left in the 4th - come on Bubba.
  11. My point - we run a 3-4 without the personnel to do it. And Bubba won't change. Our 3 linemen usually aren't big enough to occupy the O line. Bubba will run this regardless of personnel and will not adjust. Just look at our defensive record.
  12. Ah, But Bubba is playing the long game with the defense - when the Bison return to the option we'll be ready with our 3-4.
  13. A glaring weakness of Bubba's - and he is nothing if not stubborn.
  14. Pretty hard to get ready to play when you get absolutely no meaningful minutes in games.
  15. No one can be certain but I'm of the opinion that when we lost Eades we lost the guy that could be intense and fire up a team - and effectively call them on it when they were standing around. Not so sure we have that now.
  16. Carle's team didn't take the first 10 minutes of the 3rd off in a regional game they were winning so there's that.
  17. But ...... culture. Watching them disappear at the start of the 3rd in last year's regionals was unbelievable - not the culture we want
  18. Well Simon is nothing if not consistent.
  19. For all his coaching experience Bubba has some huge blind spots and is stubborn enough to keep them. Not giving the back-up QB reps has been one. The insistence to hanging on to the 3-4 defense is another. Not giving Kaminski reps could come back to bite us big time - either in a game this season where we need him or after the season in the transfer portal.
  20. This is exactly my point. As for Chaves addressing the issues at the end of the season - this has led to two extensions before his contract was up. That is my point. Clearly Chaves thinks Bubba is the way to go - as for the specific game vs the Bison - Bubba has given us exactly what he has shown throughout his career at UND for road games. I know Chaves didn't play - but he has Bubba's entire body of work to look at and clearly he thinks this is fine. I don't think anyone (except maybe Chaves) is surprised that Bubba and Co. laid an egg again Saturday. Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. Bubba clearly is not going to change and apparently neither is Chaves.
  21. I'm pretty sure Chaves has no hot seat.
  22. But hey - If the Bison ever go back to the option we'll be ready
  23. Bubba will always be Bubba - he is incapable of change - this is squarely on Chaves.
  24. Bubba's gonna Bubba - he is hardwired - this is totally on Chaves.
  25. Why isn't there more pressure on Chaves to demand excellence in our programs?
