  1. Not a big fan of the 3 on 3 OTs; seems too gimmicky to me. It looks more like a skills competition or an All-Star game with only 6 guys on the ice. #okboomer
  2. Me too...I was lucky enough to see that game in person; it was just crazy when Dorey tied the game in the last minute with his tip shot. Still think the Sioux would have won that game if they had played the OT right away instead of goiing to intermission.
  3. My pleasure. I finally ran out of VHS tapes of Sioux games but found a small stack of games recorded to DVD. Will be picking up some new editing software this weekend and will hopefully get the rest of the games uploaded.
  4. It was always crazy when Minny was in town!
  5. The house of horrors continues for Doug Woog and the Gofers as their visit to the Old Ralph is highlighted by a four goal performance by Jeff Panzer. Don't have the whole game but did catch his final goal.
  6. You can't put a bounty on a man's head!
  7. So the Saturday game after Trupp's game winning goal, the teams play to a seemingly innocent 1-1 tie. With 3 seconds left in OT, the teams have a faceoff just outside the Minnesota zone. Looks like this game's pretty much over except for the final horn and a sportsmanlike handshake. Note: I love how the Gofer announcers attribute all the goonery to UND; their Golden boys certainly wouldn't be at all to blame for the dustup.
  8. The Sioux take on the Gofs at Mariucci Arena February 1, 2008. I was lucky enough to attend this game in person; what a great atmosphere for a college hockey game. (back when fans actually showed up for Gofer hockey) Evan Trupp with an amazing play to quiet the Minny faithful. Note: The last 6:43 of the second period somehow got deleted/taped over; apologies!
  9. The Sioux cap off the tourney with Chris Vande Velde named player of the game and Evan Trupp MVP of the Final Five. All tourney team named as well.
  10. The Sioux play their 3rd game in 3 days at the 2010 WCHA Final Five. They face the SCSU Huskies in the title game and they appear to be a little sleepy in the first minute of play. Brad Eidsness shakes off a rough start to lead the boys to a strong finish. Enjoy!
  11. The Sioux, fresh off their win over Duluth in the play-in game, take on Furious George and DU Pioneers in the Semifinals of the 2010 WCHA Final 5.
  12. The Sioux face off against UMD's Bulldogs in the WCHA Final Five Play-in game. A tightly contested game throughout; who will step up for the Sioux?
  13. Good question, not sure. I know it was before 1977. Best guess would be in the 60s based on the trophy case.
  14. I don’t know who the hell Walz is listening to but he needs to wake up.
  15. Disc golf? The profit that concessions would make on weed alone would be enough to fund the course indefinitely.
  16. The Sioux take on Bucky Badger in the play-in game during the 2005 WCHA Final Five tourney. Jordan Parise in goal for North Dakota; Bernd (Toast) Bruckler mans the net for Sconny. Robbie Earl for the Badgers up for all conference honors...for the Dive team!
  17. Des Lacs-Burlington’s mural is way better than Berthold’s. Go Lakers!
  18. The Sioux face the Gofers at REA in December of 2007. Pretty tight throughout...hope the Sioux get a late period surge!
  19. Here you go...
  20. The Pony Express looks to deliver the mail against Goldy Gofer in this Saturday night matchup. Game played in January, 2011 at REA.
  21. Two familiar rivals playing in the Final Five 3rd place game? The Sioux look to beat the Gofers and solidify their seeding for the NCAA's. Rastislav Spirko absolutely fakes Chris Harrington out of his jock on his way to a huge shorthanded goal. No Robbie Bina in the lineup as he was injured in the previous night's game against DU. (Geoff Paukovich) It's all here!
  22. You’re welcome!
  23. October 2004 at the REA...The dirty Gofers are in town but the Sioux are missing Zach Parise and Brandon Bochenski (early signings). Dean Blais is gone as well and has been replaced by Dave Hakstol. Will the Sioux have enough firepower to beat the rodents? We'll see! Note: If you watch the second intermission, there's a point where the camera pans the crowd after coming back after a commercial. It shows some young punks in the crowd goofing around and wrestling with each other. The blonde kid sure looks like a young TJ Oshie.
  24. The Gofers are in town to take on the Sioux at beautiful REA in October of 2009. Alex Kangas in goal for Minny; Brad Eidsness backstopping the Sioux. Apparently Lucia felt this was still a 'healthy' rivalry at this point.
