  1. That was a good article - thanks for providing the link!
  2. I see we signed Chris Clausen, Dan's son. The 6'6" forward is a sophomore at North Iowa Area CC. If he is anything like his dad, he will be great for the program!
  3. UND wins 80-71. Played pretty well for the first game!
  4. UND up by 8 a couple of minutes into the 2nd half. Playing pretty well!
  5. I noticed that also. I would guess/hope that it was an oversight. The list of players was noted on two sheets of paper. Hopefully, Lehnertz disappeared due to that!
  6. I was also very surprised by the starting lineup. Other than Mertens, I suppose it could be that Jones has elected to start seniors in the first game. In addition to Bledsoe, I would have thought that Benter, Mitchell and Lehnertz can have started.
  7. Tomorrow begins the fall signing period. Does anyone know if there will be any signees other than Brekke and the guard from Ohio?
  8. I appreciate your insight - it is good to hear from someone who has attended all the games. You apparently have some tie to the team. What are you hearing about our freshmen who are being red-shirted this year and the couple of transfers who are sitting out? Are there kids who will be able to make significant contributions next year? We lose a bunch of seniors!
  9. Thanks - I appreciate your insight. However, my concern was not the game itself or its outcome. I am curious as to how the players look - the veterans, the new kids and those coming off an injury. Whether we win by 5 or 50, someone should be able to assess how they think we will be as a team once we get into the regular season. Regarding not buying a ticket, I don't think anyone will be buying a ticket with the only reason being that they expect to see a close, well-played game. They will go for the reasons I noted above - to get an idea how we will be this year and to SUPPORT THE TEAM. I would hope that too many fans don't get overly concerned about the schedules for most UND sports over the next couple of years. The schedules won't be great but the teams still deserve our support!
  10. I assume some (hopefully, many) of you will be attending tonight's exhibition. Please provide your thoughts tomorrow.
  11. You have to keep in mind that FCS teams are not standing in line for a chance to travel to Grand Forks, ND to play UND in football. First of all, they know there is a good chance they may lose the game in the Alerus, the cost of travel to Grand Forks is expensive and UND can't afford to pay large guarantees. Couple that with the fact that a game in Grand Forks isn't likely to help a team's recruiting efforts nor entice a bunch of their fans to travel for the game (as opposed to a game in a more exciting or more populated location). Scheduling is going to be very tough for quite a while. Once we get into a larger FB conference, it will help a bunch. Bottom line - you need to have some patience and not assume that the AD is trying to line up a more attractive home schedule!
  12. Thanks for the positive comments! You have a fine team - I hope you keep winning!

    Chappell

Good news - for him plus possibly for the football program. Thanks for checking!

I may have missed this on a different thread but.... Do we know for sure that Chappell is not enrolled and attending classes?

42-32 with 6 minutes to go. Unfortunately, our defense just can't stop them.

    WWU vs UND

Offense playing very well. Defense - having some struggles. UND 42 WWU 24 11:00 minutes left in the game!
  17. My thoughts - if you can afford to buy season tickets, you should do so! The Athletic Department needs the money and the teams deserve your support. It isn't their fault that scheduling was so difficult this year.
  18. I was not aware that Bergan was having any "difficulties" - are we meaning that she has an injury issue, too?

Is Chris Kuper starting? If not, is he getting much playing time?
  20. Has anyone seen the men work out? If so, your thoughts?
  21. While most of us were very disappointed that UND's schedule included a two-week layoff, it may end up being a very good thing! Many of our injured players are healing up a bit and it is allowing our coaching staff to do some serious talent assessment and recruiting during the season - a rare opportunity! Of course, if the team is not sharp when play resumes, it may not have been such a good thing! Although I am not a fan of recruiting a lot of JC players, I am glad we are doing so for next year. We lose a lot of talent and we are very thin in many positions. It will be important that we are very respectable next year - we don't have to be 9-2 or 8-3 (although that would be great!) but we do need to play people tough and continue to make progress as a DI team.
  22. Thanks for posting! Good luck the rest of the season!
