He got hit in the mouth with a puck during warm ups. lost some teeth and had a bunch of stitches, Coach McGroarty expects him to be out of the line up for about a week to recuperate.
-
The Lincoln Journal Star had indicated he went home for personal reasons.

I guess they'll find out in about a week or so who made the 30 man roster, which will be cut to 25 then 23 by the start of the season. I've heard rumors that Brett is looking to be traded, not sure how accurate that is though.

Pat Arnason was invited to the Lincoln Stars tryout camp this weekend.

That's pretty much correct, HIPAA is primarily for health care providers, if you worked at a hospital and found out by reading the clients chart, then you would not be able to share that information with others. But if you found out from the player or his friends/family you would not be violating HIPAA rules and regs. I work with Medicaid and Insurance so I have to be familar with who I can release information to and what information I can release. As far as coaches being careful with releasing injuries I wonder if that is more to not give opposing teams to much information. Pro's do the same thing with the "upper and lower" body injuries. You don't want your opponent knowing that a player is nursing a sore shoulder, especially during playoffs.

If Lincoln does/did add Hunter it would take a day or two to update the website, and I'm sure it's the same for Vernon

according to Pointstreak, the Lincoln Stars have added Hunter Bishop to their roster. Pointstreak- Hunter Bishop

That would have to be a tough decision for Mario, which brother do you play with Phil or PJ? Personally I hope he stays in TC and goes on to UND. Although my dream would be that he ended up in Lincoln before he goes to UND

You'd think SSM would have tutors. I don't really have a problem with him going WHL, even though I was looking forward to seeing him in a Stars uni. However I have to wonder, and it's probably not a popular thought, but are schools putting the success of the sports team ahead of academics?

I haven't seen Dowzak play, but Finley has not impressed me. I don't know if he hasn't grown into his size or what, but he didn't stand out to me at all ( other than being 6-7) I wonder if people are drooling over him because he's so big? Like the saying goes "you can't teach size"

I noticed that too... the LJS isn't exactly the mecca of hockey information. Minnesota, Michigan, they probably figured no one would know the difference.

From the Lincoln Journal Star : This could be a good thing, it looks like he's planning to play in the USHL. Maybe Sioux fans will get their wish?
-
According to the Sioux Falls's message board, someone contacted the front office who denied Hartzell as new coach. So who knows what is going on now.

I'm probably in the minority here, but I think Brian Lee would benefit from another year in Jrs. I don't know how much of his tenativeness came from not practicing with the Stars and only playing weekends. I really wanted to be impressed because of all the hype surrounding him, but I just couldn't. I don't know how he'd do at the college level, at times he seemed lost while he was in Lincoln. As long as UND eases him into the line up, he should be ok .

Very true. I'm sure the hockey fans in Lincoln would get a kick out of it though
-
Love the Milk Carton design! that would make a cool t-shirt, have the FF teams on front and the missing on the back. too bad it would probably be a nightmare to get marketing rights and what not from the teams/league

I think what makes it appear tacky is the way the team/coach handled the situation immediatly after it happened. When you see the player acting like he didn't do anything wrong and hear people say he's not reallly hurt, it's hard to switch gears and feel like they are doing this out of respect. An example, a few years ago in Lincoln during Nationals, a Compuware player drove an Omaha Lancer into the boards. It was not near as bad as Robbie but the player was taken off on a stretcher. You could tell even in the stands the player was visibly upset. I talked to him afterwards and his comment was " I though I killed him" and he was still shaken by what had happened. While I could have branded him a goon or a cheap player, his compassion for the injured player showed me that it was an accident and he honestly didn't mean for it to happen. I didn't see any of this from GP. So while the gesture is nice, you start to wonder the motivation behind it.

In the interview Robbie said that Gwoz has called him but not Paukowich. I'm amazed at how well Robbie is taking all this.. well not really, he's a class act, a good hockey player and a great person. If anyone would be able to handle this with dignity and class, it'd be Robbie.
-
Granted the two incidences are not related, but both were stupid decisions that are going to impact the victims long term. I'd imagine the girl who he assaulted isn't going to "forget" what happened to her, she's going to have emotional issues, and Robbie won't forget what happened to him, he's going to be reminded of it whether he wants to or not if he is unable to continue playing hockey. Robbie is a class act and while he may be able to "Forgive" GP for what he did, it's going to be harder to "forget". Sadly GP has shown a history of making choices that are highly questionable.

the news report had a little clip of the hit. I'm so glad to hear that Robbie is up and walking. Very good news
-
I started wondering about this so I rewatched the Bina hit, I wonder how many of the people who think/thought that Robbie was faking is because he did show movement of his arms and legs. Many people don't understand that breaking a bone in your neck does not always cause instant paralysis. I'm not trying to condone their behaviour just taking another view of the situation. That being said, I hope they realize that they are wrong and Robbie WAS seriously injured because of this hit. Get well soon Robbie, Lincoln Stars fans are rooting for you!
-
Has Geoff apologized for his actions? Not that saying "I'm sorry" will undo what has happened to Robbie but it would be a good guesture, unless of course he really is that insensitive.
-
A quick question, not trying to take anything away from what Paukowich (sp?) did, but how much of the injury was exacerbated after his collision on Thurs nights game? After watching that hit I was concerned for his health.
-
Hate to see this happen to any player, and especially a player like Robbie. Get well Soon!!
