You act as if you have proof of wrong doing. The Admin closed the orginal thread for a reason.

I'm glad to see that Phil is doing well at UND, He was a fan favorite in Lincoln and it sounds like he is quickly becoming a favorite there too. It's too bad he's not getting much support up front, he had the same problem in Lincoln. Hopefully Hak will give Phil the start again Sat and UND will pull out a win.
-
hockeygirls, I think you missed the point of the thread, I'm sure even Hak would realize it's a tongue in cheek thread pointing humor at the fans who are saying the sky is falling.
-
I don't think Phil is capable of growing facial hair

I think I heard the Stars radio announcer say that Brian Lee was going to be a before and after player for Lincoln, but I could be wrong. I think Lincoln owns his USHL rights anyways

I don't think I'd say Ziggy was running, should he have kept waiting and never got the chance to play and 3 yrs later say "what if I...? " Who knows if he'll get playing time at UMD, But it was his decision. Now if next year he leaves and tries to find yet another team, then there is a problem. But I don't think he's doing the wrong thing in deciding to play for UMD.From what I've read here, It doesn't sound like Ziggy was given a chance to show what he could do. I don't know how the conversation went, but maybe both the coaches and Ziggy felt it was best to move on. I wish Ziggy the best of luck and hope he gets to finally show everyone what he is capable of.

If you are talking about Phil, he played for Lincoln last year.
-
That could be, I thought I saw somewhere he was splitting it with Parise? In any event, he does have some sort of scholarship to attend UND.
-
Unless something has changed since I last heard, Ziggy is on a partial scholarship. UND is pretty lucky, they have 4 capable goalies backing their team, who will be the "go to guy"? Who knows but it'll be an interesting season.

Reading one of the Minnesota HS message boards, they seem to think Eades has all but signed the contract to be the assistant coach. As far as Johnson goes, he hasn't really made any indication what he plans on doing one way or another. I would like to see him in Lincoln for another year to bring the Stars back to their winning ways after the horrible season we had last year. But I would like to see him advance in his coaching career. I'm sure he'd make a nice fit at UND, heck, half the team played for him and the other half of the team played against him

Yes, Ziggy and Phil were pretty much evenly rotated while they were in Lincoln. I'd like for Ziggy to stay at UND because that has always been his dream, but I'd also like for Ziggy to go somewhere where he'll get playing time. He needs game time to be a successful goalie. Some goalies are fine with just getting practice and are sharp when they finally get called upon to play a game. When Johnson stayed with the rotation they were fine, but if he gave one goalie 2 starts it kind of threw their game plan off a bit. I think they were so used to playing every other night. Best of luck to all of the UND goalies, especially the former Stars

Lincoln Journal Star- Steve Johnson's comments This is the article that ran in the Sunday LJS. I've heard talk that an assistant coaching position could open up and that Steve would be willing to take that job, but in this article it sounds like he'd like to stay in Lincoln. I have mixed feelings on all this, but I'll be relieved once everything is said and done so us Lincoln fans can stop worrying if we'll have a new coach next season.

Danny is deadly on the PK, last year in Lincoln, he lead the league in SHG with 9 I think.
-
Well since I'm in Lincoln and don't exactly have the opportunity to pop by and ask him, Maybe someone from the board can speak with him regarding this. You seem sure that he would say he regrets it. Why would you say this with out having personally talked to him about it? Currently I don't think he would get much more ice time at UMD, and not only that, he would be farther away from friends and family. And there is also the possibilty that he's having fun in his classes and enjoys the entire experience of being a student athlete at UND.
-
I hope Ziggy gets playing time as much if not more than the next person But he's always wanted to play for UND, I doubt he'd consider it a mistake, taking into consideration that he planned on walking on to a school that is known for it's abundance of goaltenders. It was a "lucky" break that he ended up with a partial scholly.

Last I checked, GB had dropped Jacques from their protected list. He actually has a decent chance, along with PJ to end up in Lincoln some how since they play for Chad Johnson in Bismarck, Steve's brother. While a team might not be able to hand pick players, there are always trades that could be worked out between teams. I think Lincoln is always going to have a pipeline for ND players, at least as long as Steve is the coach.
-
Jesse was a very steady defenseman, I'd imagine the only reason we dropped him was for health reasons, since he's an 83 he wouldn't be able to play next year and we need healthy bodies. I don't know if the concussion is the end of his playing career or if he will be cleared to play next year.

Gee, I wasn't aware that how "cute" or "hot" or "sexy" a player was had ANYTHING to do with how talented of a player they are. I really doubt Blais sits around and goes, "hmm, who should we start in net tonight? JPar is better skill wise, but Jake is better looking." I'm female and having little puck bunnies post drivel like this sets all that female hockey fans have been striving for back 10 yrs. It's hard enough to convince guys that you have a clue what is going on in the game, and you aren't just watching for the cute players, but then we have to deal with this type of polls?

Finally people are discovering what I found out last year Even though Robbie is small in size, his heart and skill are equal to a player 6'0.
-
It's rather unfortunate, Ziggy is a good goalie, doesn't seem as if Dean wants to give him a chance. He's only played what, 20 mins in maybe 3 games? I guess with how things are going now, Ziggy won't get any games in this season, and next year doesn't look much better, Maybe by his Jr year he'll get to show UND what he is capable of. Should be interesting to watch Ziggy and Phil competing during practices, they spent 2 yrs in Lincoln battling for the top spot, They both drive eachother to be better.
-
So where does Ziggy fit in to all this?
-
Porter is a workhorse, last year he played in 59 out of about 60 games for Lincoln. Johnson sat him towards the end of the season to give him some rest before playoffs, basically a reward for playing so well, but Chris took it as a benching. Coach didn't think he would take it that way so had to explain that in this situation it's was a good thing. Chris has a great work ethic which I'm sure you all have noticed.

I guess all the work Willie O'rea has done for minorities in Hockey has been overlooked by NDSU
