I think they are talking about having a big nose, Toucan Sam has a big beak and how he'd look if it was big and crooked. Or something to that effect.
-
Lincoln plays TC this weekend, so that would be the perfect opportunty to watch both of them play. How ever I've heard Spirko broke his nose in a game Vs River city, so not sure how effective he'll be or if he'll play. I'm assuming he will with a full cage.

It's going to get interesting next year when Lamoureux shows up. Him and Ziggy have been battling/competing against each other for 2 years while in Lincoln. Both are capable goalies and if they renew their competiveness against eachother, Blais might have some tough decisions to make.
-
Maybe that's the problem LOL . Is there a reason the NCAA/WCHA choses refs from a different pool than the rest of hockey?
-
Do many of the College refs come through Jr Hockey? I don't see many names I recognize from the USHL, where do the college get their officials? I'm assuming they are based through USAHockey.

Obviously I'm a bit biased towards Bina, I got to watch him play last year for the Lincoln Stars, after missing most of the season due to a freak injury, he developed into on of our top d-men. He had lots of ice time, including PP and PK units. I hope he continues to improve and develops into a solid D-man for the Sioux

Gee, can we say puck bunny? Or someone with too much free time? Hmm, hottest player, well the line of Bo, Zach and Brady is pretty hot, I'm sure opposing netminders would agree. How many points do they have between them?
-
Wouldn't the officials determine who get the assists based one who were the last two players on that team to play the puck? Some times a player might say, I should of had that assist, or that assist should go to that player... There can only be 2 assists per goal. I don't know about college, but in the USHL they have changed assists ( and goals) after the scoring but before the sheet is signed off. This probably doesn't help a lot though.

I was attempting to watch the game Sat night and heard that too, you'd think if he took a look at the name he'd figure it out, there's only one "L" in Lundbohm and it's not where he's placing it.
-
Thanks for everyones help Looks like it's a French League, tried to use the German translator and didn't get anywhere so I tried French and that worked, but I still can't find anything LOL
-
Does anyone happen to know where Brian Lundbohm is currently playing? Trying to keep tabs on all former Lincoln Stars and he has slipped out from the radar. Thanks for any help anyone can give me.

I don't know anything about Foyt, but I do know that Robbie was one of Lincoln's best defensemen last year. Why not give him a few more games before deciding that Robbie should sit while Foyt plays. Heck if UND doesn't want him, maybe we can "adjust" his birth certificate to get him back to Lincoln for a season, Lord knows we could use a solid defenseman to play the point on the PP

Porter has played with Potsy and Irmen, and next years gophers Frosh Gordon and Borgen, so he knows a bit of how they play. Porter has a great work ethic and I think he'll be a surprise player for the Sioux.

I think the reason Fournier is ranked so high, is they are basing it soley on what they accomplished in the USHL, if they based it on what they accomplished afterwards, there would be some names added and subtracted from the list.

We always called him Ziggy here in Lincoln.

I deal with HIPAA on an almost daily basis in my job and am familar with the requirements of HIPAA. They aren't going to prevent the immediate family from knowing about their childs condition. How ever, if the player doesn't want the coach to tell his family he is obligated to comply with the players wishes. I think the only people who are going to be directly affected would be the fans, who don't really need to know the extent of an injury although it is nice to know. I'm sure If you have the right connections with either the players or their families a fan could find out the information, They just can't post it on the message board.
-
What high horse? I was commenting about the previous post, where the poster said he would have done the same thing. I realize the orginator of the post has apologized. I'm just stating my opinion that because some information may not be factual, even if you have every reason to believe you are hearing the truth, it might not be appropriate to publically post that information. Jakey is generally a good kid, he can have a bit of an ego as has been mentioned on this board. We'll just have to wait and see how Blais handles his pull tab incident.
-
Just because you have information from whom you believe is a reliable source, doesn't mean that you should post the information publicly.
-
I would think that although Potsy and Danny are going to Minny, that maybe someone would care where a North Dakotan born player was ranked in the draft.
-
AWHL page Well so far the Billings page is the only one who got it right apparently. How do you get 4-3 confused with 1-18?

If Lamoureux comes this year ( I really really really hope he stays in Lincoln) and Ziggy walks on, how many goalies will UND have? Is someone going to get cut? How many goalies can one team carry? Wouldn't it be better to have an extra Fwd or D? What's the roster limit/player dressed limit? While Layne's a good goalie, I'd rather keep Phil another year, Layne turns 21 in Jan, I believe under NCAA guidelines if he plays past 21 he will lose a year of eligibility. Is he still planning on going to college or did he decide against it since Blais pulled the offer? Or does that stop the clock since he did/does have an offer? Sorry I'm asking so many questions but I'm not as familar with the College rules as some other people might be

One thing I and I'm sure others have noticed is SR doesn't want any players who attended GFC to play for UND. So where should they play? Is UND a state university? I'm guessing it is, so why shouldn't a kid who grew up in Grand Forks play for the Fighting Sioux? Or is there something I'm missing? I would think it would be an honor to have a hometown kid play for UND?
-
Is size really that important if the player has skill? I know of players who are 6 ft + who have the size but not the skill. I guess I'm not a huge proponent of the Barry Melrose school of coaching "You can't teach size" I'd rather have a smaller highly skilled player than a big marginally skilled player. So in summary Robbie is a small dirty player who played for GFC, so that is why he shouldn't play for UND? I guess we'll have to see how he adjusts to college hockey.
-
well I don't know about that, but that is not the case while he's been here in Lincoln. I don't suppose you'd care to divulge which players were injured? Or at least the circumstances surrounding the injuries. But I still stand by my belief that Robbie is a skilled defenseman who will be an asset to UND.
-
Robbie is a talented defenseman, we only got him for part of the season due to injury. But he has impressed the fans and the coaches while he was here. It might take him a while to get acclimated to the higher level of College hockey but he's shown he can play up to the competition. Siouxrock, would you care to elaborate on why you claim Robbie is a dirty player? I'm going to assume you aren't speaking of his personal hygiene. You have stated that he is a dirty player twice with out any explanation. In 29 games he has 34 PIMs which isn't really that high for a defenseman, plus 5 of those was a fight were he did a pretty good job of taking care of business.
