It was interesting to hear Charchian grill him about it, and even after Donnyboy got off the phone Charch said "They could have left dates open if they really wanted to". I was surprised by that.

Lucia on KFAN right now. Charchian and PA hammered him with questions about Big 10 hockey, breaking up the WCHA, he got questions on "Why not OK for Sioux but it's OK for Fighting Irish"...deflected those questions by saying "ask the administrators, that's above my paygrade, ask the NCAA, etc. I'm surprised they're asking him some of this and not sucking his lollipop. Lucia sounds frustrated. Admits that his son going to Notre Dame had something to do with scheduling them. That's my very quick recap.

Man, how spot on is this post! And shortbusguy's reply above says something about his "family and this new girl out east". "Family" in this situation must represent the other Minnesota schools. To hear them being referred to as family by the Gopher faithful is funny!

You must know these guys and are trying to be nice to them. "Fun to listen to" would not be words that I'd use to describe what I just wasted an hour on, and "they do a good job" and "they know their hockey" would not be words I'd use to describe those 3 stooges. Sorry...

So I'm about 10 minutes into this thing and I'm very glad that I've never heard of these GPL podcasts before. What a waste of time. I'll stick this one out to hear what genius thoughts these intellects have on the Sioux series - that's if the heating unit doesn't keep kicking in or the baby stops crying. Good Lord! I may also listen in next week to hear what you have to say after this weekend's Siouxweep at The Toilet.

A win's a win, and we'll take the points...but 2 games like this next weekend and they'll get blown out of the arena. I have faith that next weekend will be a different story.

Katie Hale interviewed Schlossman between periods and referenced him sprinting down there. I wonder if they were going to interview someone and Hak put the kabosh on it, so Schlossman filled in?

Ha...I'm the farthest thing from Papa Shep there is. Unfortunately, yes..that's always going to get called.

I never said he called contact to the head, but he didn't call the penalty on the original hit. It was on the second shot once the player was down. And yes, the Kristo penalty was foolish as well. Watch the play about 10 seconds earlier in the offensive zone. When the puck got turned over Kristo gave the guy a slash and you could tell what was coming next.

The fact of the matter is, there is no reason to give a guy a shot when he's laying on the ice after you've laid him out with a good, clean, hard hit. That'll get called every time...period. I can't stand these refs just as much as the next guy, but I'm not going to argue that call. As soon as Mac did that I knew it would be called.

That was a dumb play by Mac. Guy laying on the ice and you give him a shot after just laying him out? That's a penalty every time...he had no reason to be surprised or mad at that call.
