  1. Somewhat off topic here, and maybe it has been adressed ealier in this or another thread, but I assume there'll be no hockey segment of the Fighting Sioux Coaches' Show??? Or is someone subbing?
  2. Aw, pleeeeeeeeze, one more hint?! (It's a slow day. I need some excitement and stimulation)
  3. Actually, I've been in fifth grade for 26 years! Some guys never learn. Brian Lee came to our school as a favor to one of our students who is a neighbor of his at the lake in the summer. Brian was this 2nd grader's "show and tell." I had the brother of this student in class last year, and the parents knew I was a big Sioux fan. This is how he happened to come to my room, as he didn't visit all the rooms.
  4. I told him that when I taught in Warroad , MN, that I got to hold ex-Sioux Dave Christian's 1980 Olympic gold medal in my hand a few days after the Olympics were over. He said that Dave is his next door neighbor in Moorhead. Small world.
  5. Brian Lee came to visit my fifth grade classroom today. A very, very nice young man! Had a good (but too short) visit with him. Very personable and easy to talk to. My students were thrilled. He had a great handshake!
  6. During last night's intermission between the 2nd and 3rd period, Tim Hennesy was interviewing some official (I never did catch who he was or in what capacity he served) from the USHL and he positively gushed about LaPoint. Among the things he said was that LaPoint was among the top 5 USHL plsyers right now and that he would for sure be an impact player for UND when he steps in.
  7. Polls at the beginning of the year are like batting averages after 5-6 games. Some guys are hitting .800 and some are hitting .078.... you know you aren't supposed to put much stock in them. They have to have someone ranked #1, #2, #3 etc. No big deal.
  8. Mayville-Portland.......and after that, any Class B town in the state!
  9. I live in a town of about 2,000 midway between Fargo and GF, and from what I have observed over the last few years, I'd say it's about 80/20 in favor of the Sioux (as opposed to NDSU). We have gatherings to watch Sioux FB and hockey on TV at a local establishment, and they,re very well atended. Of course, the Bison are hardly on TV for any sport, so it's maybe not a fair comparison. (this post is in responce to the AC reference) I would say in my small town, there is STRONG Sioux support.
  10. Wasn't happy with how UND handled the goalie situation?! Phillippe is the #1 goalie on the #3 ranked team in the nation as a junior! I think Dad should be pleased. It's not as though some seive was playing in front of him the last 2 years.
  11. I've been checking this forum on and off all day hoping for the FSSN announcement. Now, instead of driving to my daughter's to watch, I can watch in the cozy confines of my basement with a refreshment in my hand. Great!
  12. I think I'll go ahead and drive the 22 miles. I get most of the games anyway, and I don't want to spend the extra money for a digital package. Besides, it'll make a nice little road trip for my buddy and me.
  13. Warrrior_8, After all you said and your team loses 49-2...you dare come back on this board again? You need to put yout mouse where the sun doesn't shine.
  14. Oh, and last time I checked, it was on DirectTV, on FSNW (the Wis. virsion....) on channel 642.
  15. Well, I do have MIDCO, and unless they've done a programming change without my knowledge, I don't have Fox College Sports Central. I hope we do, cause if we don't, I'll have to drive 22 miles to my daughter's farm to watch it on DirectTV.
  16. Who's the guy who looks like the Twins' Lew Ford in the lower left hand corner?
  17. #1Hakfan, Which one do you think will shock people? Or do you just mean that given the number of recruits, odds are that one will shock people?
  18. NO away games sucks! But, then again, they di say the schedule is subject to change.
  19. Way to go Rutgers! 21-16 over NC. I really enjoy cheering for Rutgers now that I (and other Sioux fans) have a somewhat "personal" connection!

    CWU vs UND

I do know all involved with the PLS bus thing, although I've never gone myself. I think they do have a very good time, (lots of food and refreshments). I could have gone many times, but I like to be able to abandon ship when I want to. On the bus, you have to be willing to go when everyone else is ready, and make any stops that they want to.

Siouxmama, say hello for me to S.G., ateacher at your elementary school. Also, your VB coach is married to my cousin.
  22. Last year we did get the games from Denver (I think it was both.....) I remember Prpich's face-off move in particular. I don't recall if we got CC or not..... I know we have occasionally in the past. I think the Denver action was a last minute deal. That's happened with Wisconsin before, too. Maybe it will again.

Your last name starts with H, doesn't it. Just had a refreshment with your dad about 3 hours ago.

I'm at the elementary school in Mayville. Oldest male 5th grade teacher in ND. (at least that's what I tell everyone)
