  1. What a weak example of trying to discredit a fanbase as not being the best in treating opposing fans. You are a fan of a major rival school, of course you are going to be heckled by some d-bags. Just like I am every time I wear a Sioux jersey at the Mariucci. Either way though, I do agree with you on the ranking of fanbases. It is totally in the eye of the beholder.
  2. Thanks for the clarification and to which I say let ND go independent.
  3. Are you sure about this or are you just making this up? I'm sorry but I have a hard time believing that Notre Dame could just do that. If that was even remotely possible, I'm pretty sure it would've been mentioned in the news and I also doubt the CCHA leftover schools would just let Notre Dame "take" the CCHA autobid to make its' own conference. I'm all fine with hypothesizing but I just don't see this happening. It is independent or NCHC for Notre Dame.
  4. I have to agree, SCSU can go pound sand. I've always thought UND got the short end of the stick in regards to the "rival" pairings within the WCHA. I'd rather have had us paired with UMD versus SCSU.
  5. Sounds good to me. I'd rather not have the UND administration trying to shove a new nickname down our throats immediately after the Sioux nickname is retired.
  6. Thanks for quoting that, I was going to also mention that. Now I haven't been to many road series other than going to the Mariucci, is that statement true? Do other WCHA teams do a "Gopher Rejects!" chant when they play UND? Cause all I'm familiar with is the UND students doing the "Gopher Rejects!" chant on St. Cloud State.
  7. 5 Greatest College Hockey Programs of All Time Link: http://bleacherreport.com/articles/773887-college-hockey-greatest-hockey-programs-of-all-time#/articles/773887-college-hockey-greatest-hockey-programs-of-all-time Pretty nice to read stuff like this. Too bad JT Miller didn't get to read this before deciding to bail.
  8. Unless that Schwartz has a first name of Jaden, I think I'll be more looking forward to Schmaltz coming in.
  9. Hear, hear. We won't see the prolific offensive scoring that we were used to seeing last season but I think our offense should still be pretty solid.
  10. You are kidding right? Do you need someone to link you to all the threads on USCHO?
  11. And why is it that Gopher fans always like to include UW when saying they didn't have a choice? Wisconsin fans may not have wanted to leave but Wisconsin's AD was a major proponent of the BTHC. So yeah, they had a choice and they chose BTHC. Your response would've been just fine if you stuck with just saying Minnesota.
  12. Hard to wish the kid luck when he decides to bail pretty much at the 11th hour. While he was most likely pressured by the New York Rangers into going the OHL route, he still had a choice. http://www.nyrblueshirts.com/?p=1058 I'm not going to wish ill will on the kid but I can say I won't be cheering for him either.
  13. If it is true then I am glad UND got out of the WCHA then. If the other schools were not willing to vote out an inept commissioner, then I'm glad we left.

  15. You're either Nostradamus or you were tipped off beforehand.
  16. I'm getting an absolute kick out of some Gopher fans on USCHO saying they(Minnesota) won't be visiting UND because of this new league. If the UMTC brass doesn't schedule us because of it, it is their loss as well. They'll be just as hurt by UND not visiting the Mooch. I find it amusing because any way you spin it, Minnesota and Wisconsin left for greener pastures($$$) as well. Even if Minnesota was reluctant(you know Wisconsin officials weren't). Disclaimer: I can say that not all Gopher fans are being high and sanctimonious pricks just some, mainly Gopher fans who post on USCHO. As for the other Big Ten teams playing UND in Grand Forks. I seriously doubt they would've played us in Grand Forks even if we remained in the WCHA. I don't know what Wisconsin will do in regards to the UND-Wisconsin series but I wouldn't be surprised if they killed the rivalry and regular games between the two. However, Wisconsin officials would be hypocrites to not play us on the basis of us leaving to form a new conference/opportunities when that is the sole reason they left the WCHA.
  17. I don't think Air Force would even consider it, they've repeatedly said they like being in the AHA and want to remain there. Also, I think with Army being in the AHA as well is also a factor into Air Force being content with where they are at conference-wise.
  18. I'd say it deserves to have its own thread now that it is pending reality. Anyways, out of all this the one school I feel bad for the most is Bemidji State University. They basically had to cut off an arm and a leg to get into the WCHA and now it is falling apart. I see a soured UND-BSU friendship happening because of this.
  19. I can't believe it either. Whoever does draft him is definitely getting a steal though. Edit: Rocco Grimaldi not drafted in the 1st round. Looks like we'll have to wait till tomorrow.
  20. JT Miller selected 15th overall by the New York Rangers. I think it should be safe to say Miller won't bolt to go play in a different league. The Rangers have had quite a few players in their system that previously played in the NCAA. Wisconin's McDonagh and Stepan come to my immediate thoughts.
  21. The situation in Minot just got worse. The crest prediction in Minot has been increased to 1566ft from 1563ft. Lake Darling Dam will be increasing its releases to 28,000cfs by I believe tomorrow. The dikes protecting broadway now have to be raised to meet the new level by at least Friday evening. If Broadway is lost, only the bypass would remain as the only means that connects the town together(if the bypass were to be lost as well, the town would be split in half).
  22. I can't say I feel that way. No matter how a previous season ended, I always look forward to the next season of Sioux hockey! GO SIOUX!!
  23. Well folks, as you all know the City of Minot has been fighting the Souris River from flooding the town. It has been announced today that flooding in town is all but imminent. Dams in Canada as well as the dam in Lake Darling are making huge increases in water releases due to heavy raining in those areas. Minot will have its worst flood ever with a crest of 1562ft - seven feet over the level reached in the 1969 Minot flood.
  24. Brock wasn't invited to the camp because he turns 21 on October 15th, making him over the age limit to participate.
  25. They booed whenever commish Gary Bettman talked.
