I know we as fans are excited to see him on the ice and I'm sure this has to be a total bummer for him that he won't be able to play right away. As for St. Clair, hopefully that gets figured out.

They are talking about Notre Dame getting a regional TV deal to televise all home games. Do we share our FSSN/Fox College Sports deal with other teams in the WCHA? I honestly don't see the big deal about this regional TV deal that Notre Dame wants? I know the NCHC is hoping a national TV deal for the conference will materialize but do the regional TV deals such as our FSSN, cease to exist because of it? Some Miami Redhawk blogger has posted that Notre Dame & RPI will be joining the Hockey East Association. That's too bad if true though it'd explain the early invites to St. Cloud and Western Michigan.

If Notre Dame decides to join the Hockey East that'd be pretty baffling. Do they want to join a bus league and be the school that has to travel by plane for every away conference game? This is their hockey program, not football. I don't really think ND cares too much about the other schools in the HE besides BC and if they want to play them regularly they easily could if they choose NCHC. The NCHC is definitely the better fit for Notre Dame, hell the majority of Notre Dame fans want their team to be in the NCHC. Because of this, I wouldn't be all too surprised if Notre Dame goes Hockey East.

I thought the NCHC schools wanted to move away from a school like SCSU? Should've just stayed in the WCHA in this case. And if Notre Dame is able to remain independent in football, will the NCHC still look appealing by becoming an 9 team conference(if ND joins)? Since the whole theory has been that ND only wants to be in a 7 team conference.

Interesting, in all my years going to the REA, I don't think I've ever seen anyone slip on the marble. Even during the winter months. Hell, I think the only way I'd slip is if there is a sizable amount of water on the marble and I've pounded down quite a bit of alcohol.

What a weak example of trying to discredit a fanbase as not being the best in treating opposing fans. You are a fan of a major rival school, of course you are going to be heckled by some d-bags. Just like I am every time I wear a Sioux jersey at the Mariucci. Either way though, I do agree with you on the ranking of fanbases. It is totally in the eye of the beholder.

Are you sure about this or are you just making this up? I'm sorry but I have a hard time believing that Notre Dame could just do that. If that was even remotely possible, I'm pretty sure it would've been mentioned in the news and I also doubt the CCHA leftover schools would just let Notre Dame "take" the CCHA autobid to make its' own conference. I'm all fine with hypothesizing but I just don't see this happening. It is independent or NCHC for Notre Dame.

I have to agree, SCSU can go pound sand. I've always thought UND got the short end of the stick in regards to the "rival" pairings within the WCHA. I'd rather have had us paired with UMD versus SCSU.

Sounds good to me. I'd rather not have the UND administration trying to shove a new nickname down our throats immediately after the Sioux nickname is retired.

Do other WCHA teams do a "Gopher Rejects!" chant when they play UND? Cause all I'm familiar with is the UND students doing the "Gopher Rejects!" chant on St. Cloud State.

And why is it that Gopher fans always like to include UW when saying they didn't have a choice? Wisconsin fans may not have wanted to leave but Wisconsin's AD was a major proponent of the BTHC. So yeah, they had a choice and they chose BTHC. Your response would've been just fine if you stuck with just saying Minnesota.

Hard to wish the kid luck when he decides to bail pretty much at the 11th hour. If it is true then I am glad UND got out of the WCHA then. If the other schools were not willing to vote out an inept commissioner, then I'm glad we left.
