  2. You're either Nostradamus or you were tipped off beforehand.
  3. I'm getting an absolute kick out of some Gopher fans on USCHO saying they(Minnesota) won't be visiting UND because of this new league. If the UMTC brass doesn't schedule us because of it, it is their loss as well. They'll be just as hurt by UND not visiting the Mooch. I find it amusing because any way you spin it, Minnesota and Wisconsin left for greener pastures($$$) as well. Even if Minnesota was reluctant(you know Wisconsin officials weren't). Disclaimer: I can say that not all Gopher fans are being high and sanctimonious pricks just some, mainly Gopher fans who post on USCHO. As for the other Big Ten teams playing UND in Grand Forks. I seriously doubt they would've played us in Grand Forks even if we remained in the WCHA. I don't know what Wisconsin will do in regards to the UND-Wisconsin series but I wouldn't be surprised if they killed the rivalry and regular games between the two. However, Wisconsin officials would be hypocrites to not play us on the basis of us leaving to form a new conference/opportunities when that is the sole reason they left the WCHA.
  4. I don't think Air Force would even consider it, they've repeatedly said they like being in the AHA and want to remain there. Also, I think with Army being in the AHA as well is also a factor into Air Force being content with where they are at conference-wise.
  5. I'd say it deserves to have its own thread now that it is pending reality. Anyways, out of all this the one school I feel bad for the most is Bemidji State University. They basically had to cut off an arm and a leg to get into the WCHA and now it is falling apart. I see a soured UND-BSU friendship happening because of this.
  6. I can't believe it either. Whoever does draft him is definitely getting a steal though. Edit: Rocco Grimaldi not drafted in the 1st round. Looks like we'll have to wait till tomorrow.
  7. JT Miller selected 15th overall by the New York Rangers. I think it should be safe to say Miller won't bolt to go play in a different league. The Rangers have had quite a few players in their system that previously played in the NCAA. Wisconin's McDonagh and Stepan come to my immediate thoughts.
  8. The situation in Minot just got worse. The crest prediction in Minot has been increased to 1566ft from 1563ft. Lake Darling Dam will be increasing its releases to 28,000cfs by I believe tomorrow. The dikes protecting broadway now have to be raised to meet the new level by at least Friday evening. If Broadway is lost, only the bypass would remain as the only means that connects the town together(if the bypass were to be lost as well, the town would be split in half).
  9. I can't say I feel that way. No matter how a previous season ended, I always look forward to the next season of Sioux hockey! GO SIOUX!!
  10. Well folks, as you all know the City of Minot has been fighting the Souris River from flooding the town. It has been announced today that flooding in town is all but imminent. Dams in Canada as well as the dam in Lake Darling are making huge increases in water releases due to heavy raining in those areas. Minot will have its worst flood ever with a crest of 1562ft - seven feet over the level reached in the 1969 Minot flood.
  11. Brock wasn't invited to the camp because he turns 21 on October 15th, making him over the age limit to participate.
  12. They booed whenever commish Gary Bettman talked.
  13. Just heard one of the announcers talking about past MVP award winners and one of the announcers mentioned the University of North Dakota when they listed Toews. Always good to hear the pro ranks mention North Dakota. Congrats to the Boston Bruins though on winning the Cup.
  14. I wasn't thinking of it in that sense. More like I'd rather not give any Canadian/Canuck fans something to gloat and cheer about.
  15. I don't really like the Bruins or Canucks but one thing is for sure, I'd rather have a USA-located team win the Cup.
  16. I just want to give my prayers to any fellow people residing in Minot and Bismarck. Evacuations have been ordered in areas of Minot by tomorrow night. KXMC News - Minot
  17. I agree, I wouldn't be surprised to see a typical struggle at the beginning in the first half and pick it up in the second half of the season. Also wouldn't be surprised at all if it was potentially vice versa. Anyways, still sucks to see Gregoire go. He was a great two-way player and I think the Sioux are really going to miss his presence on the PP/PK.
  18. Tampa Bay beats the top-seeded Capitals by the score 5-3, sweeping the series. Didn't see that happening.
  19. Yep, Fox College Sports aired quite a few UND football games last season while of course airing all UND men's hockey home games. @darell1976: I was trying to be a little nice so I only said dozens.
  20. Fact is, if the rivalry restarted the Fargodome would sell out in a heartbeat if the rivalry restarted and vice versa when the game would be played in Grand Forks. As for those who don't care, you don't have to but I bet if the two teams started playing again the majority of you will be there to watch it live. Well maybe except the guy from Wyoming. Now this doesn't mean I'm for the two teams playing again because I honestly don't care either way. However, I'm not afraid to say that if the two teams started playing again I will be there. That is like asking why there are dozens of threads dedicated to UND on their message boards.
  21. cough Garrett Clarke cough
  22. Lucky for them it isn't a one and done format. Being shut out by a red-hot goalie in the post season in one game isn't a season ending blow like it was for the Sioux.
  23. I wonder how Dylan Olsen is feeling after seeing the team he bolted from win its first National Championship? Congrats Dogs.
  24. It isn't just the Gophers though. The Islanders signed Matt Donovan after playing 2 seasons in Denver.
  25. Congratulations to Scott Sandelin and the UMD Bulldogs on winning their 1st National Title. I don't think UMD fans will be calling for his head for at least 2-3 years lol. Gotta say, UMD winning really eases the Sioux loss for me. Plus WCHA pride.
