Yep. MY point that you keep over looking is if you thing the HC think is a thing of the past and you don't want to hear or read about it anymore....don't. When I read something over at GPL... Nevermind, I don't go there or care what they say there. But hey, that's my choice. You are welcome here but as stated, don't expect us to say nice things about the Goofs in general and don't expect us not to enjoy ourselves at the Goofs expense any chance we get.

I'm going to buy a Notre Dame jersey. If I hadn't been wearing a game worn Sioux jersey, a Notre Dame fan and I would have traded jerseys. Fun!!!

Picture this The Fighting Sioux lose to Holy Cross Crusaders... No way in H E double hockey sticks that the Goofs wouldn't still be sticking it to us over the loss; yesterday, today, tomorrow and into infinity!! No need to say, "Oh no, not us! We would never stoop so low." Yeah, right!! It's all part of the rivalry. It's all in fun...at the Goofs expense. If Holy Cross beat any WCHA #1 ranked team, other than the Fighting Sioux, damn straight I would buy their jersey. Being that they beat the Goofs makes it just that much sweeter! As I said before, don't come on to a thread that has Holy Cross in it's title if this bugs you, if it's old, if it's ...whatever.

OK. I thought it was hilarious. Had a lot of fun doing it and it brings a smile to my face when I think of it. You're right. It doesn't upset me at all.

Taken the summer of 2006. They still felt very embarassed and were 'feeling shame'. That's why they didn't say anything. Can you imagine any school letting someone put the jersey from a team who beat them in the regional playoffs or anytime on their mascot!! Oh wait....

I will never regret spending money on a Holy Cross jerseys for three reasons. 1) It's a piece of history. THE biggest college hockey lose in NC$$ history, 2) dancing around the Xcel concourse with the UMtc band during the F5 wearing a Holy Cross jersey, and 3) taking this picture in the middle of Goofyland with NO ONE taking issue with our taking many pictures of Goldie wearing the jersey of his new favorite team.

That was my first thought as well!

When I first moved to North Dakota, I worked for Migrant Health for three summers. Because some people didn't know I was Mexican American ("You talk good for being Mexican", said the Norwegian who asked what I was.), they said things they normally wouldn't. I heard about the dirty, lazy Mexicans who came North in the summer. I would never be able to work 10-12 hours in a field hoeing weeds like they did. When I made home visits, the housing was usually in poor repair but ALWAYS it was clean. The children were well taken care of, clothes were usually hanging to dry after being washed out by hand and the people friendly after getting to know me. I learned that many had 'real' jobs in their home state, many were educated, more than a few were teachers. They worked the beet fields for the extra money it brought into the home. Many more were migrant workers who moved state to state to earn a living wage. Those were the 'lazy Mexicans' I met in North Dakota. My mother and her siblings quit school and were migrant workers for three years after my grand parents died. None of us off spring ever lived or knew that life. 85% or more of us have attended or graduated from college. Unfortunately, for some education isn't that important while going out and getting a job to help support the family is a higher priority. I know that if you were to look at the different generations the newer ones place more value on an education than the older ones. Those 'new' to the US very likely place bringing home a paycheck at a higher priority than education. But, that will change for them as well.

I think both will be four year men. I'm hoping Chorney's dad has a big influence on whether he stays or goes. If he does, then Taylor may also be a four year man!

Now there's a family dedicated to their children's dreams!! The Staals' back yard rink had boards and lights!!! Incredible!

It was at a meet and greet, HockeyMom's little guy (I think it was HockeyMom's son) wanted a picture with TJ. He was in awe of TJ and stood about three feet away from him. TJ reached over, put his arm around him and pulled him close for the picture. That little guy's face was filled with adoration!
