  1. FRENCHY'S!!!!! That's where I headed between, *cough*, classes. I still have my mug!!
  2. That's a smell that lingers in the nostrils far too long!
  3. I agree. Hopefully someone will bring it back to life. I loved their hard rolls and pate'. Siouxmama and I will just have to lunch at Al's when I'm home.
  4. Agree, great memories. It was a favorite of mine but since I've been traveling for work, I hadn't been there in years.
  5. What!?!? Man, I hope they reopen! Whitey's is a cornerstone of the community. I can't believe it's closed. Mmmm, Dave Norman, 'nuff said....
  6. Damn, we're losing a lot of good, young people! Matt coached my son in hockey and the article is spot on! He was intense, focused and dedicated to helping his team succeed! He was a great family man as well. I remember when his first child was born. Man, he loved and cherised that little girl. I have pictures of him in the park with her and you could see how much he loved her just by the look in his eyes. He will be missed.
  7. I've seen you play hockey! You're able to get into tight spots that would stop most hockey players!! Being 4'2", has it's advantages!!!
  8. AGAIN, no one said alcohol wasn't involved. What people are saying is no one knows if alcohol was or was not involved. To post that he was probably drunk is irresponsible regardless of the history of college students drinking alcohol underaged or not.
  9. Nope. I will continue to be here, and call out the rumor mongers for what they are. What WOULD be simple is people would post what they know and not go off on 'he was drunk, he passed out in a snowbank, his face is frozen and is going to fall off, Altru had a frostbite unit, etc." Now that's simple!
  10. That is not what he said. He doesn't have anymore 'knowledge' than the rest of the posters have - negative or positive. What I personally do not want is posters to post rumors/speculation/etc. as fact. So far, we've have posts that state Danny was found in a snowbank, he has frost bite on hands, feet and face, he was drunk, etc. That kind of crap should NOT be post as if it were fact. That is the kind of information that has pi$$ed off the majority of SS.com members in this thread.
  11. Personally, I like staying downtown because 1) you don't have to drive anywhere/find parking, 2) everything that's going on around the games (Pre and Post game get togethers, getting together with old and new friends, etc.) is downtown and you don't have to drive anywhere, 3) if you have too much to drink, you don't have to drive anywhere, 4) the atmosphere of the whole Final Five event is all over the downtown area which contributes to the fun, 5) you get to meet nice people from different fan bases and can actually stop and visit without having to worrying about 'beating the traffic, 6) people with younger children can let them chill in the pool or room right up to game time, 7) ......there's more but I have to get ready for work.
  12. Count me in!!! You can stay at my house before we head to the foreign land and afterwards, too. I have four bedrooms, so there's plenty of room! Mr. RWD can stay there and wait for our triumphant return if he so chooses.
  13. Ah, now I remember. I thought he was buried in the snow. You're correct. The year of the flood!
  14. And by the way, my fish is bigger than your fish!!
  15. Yes, you were there. Ben and I were waiting for the elevator, a drunk goopher fan started talking smack to us, Ben asked if he could take the guy out, I said yes just as the elevator doors opened and I pushed him in. I saved a life and kept my kid out of jail that day. We're staying at the Hilton Gardens for both the F5 and the F4. I made our reservations last summer. Get on the ball there, Mr. Procrastinator! Make your reservations!!
  16. I don't have it but LadyDy would. Send her a PM.
  17. NO ONE has said alcohol is not involved. NO ONE here knows if alcohol is involved. What we are saying to all the rumor mongers, is, don't post speculations/lies/rumors/ fairy tales, etc as if they are facts. Think before you post. Think about the impact of your words to Danny, his family, his friends, and his teammates. If you don't care, well carry on....I've got high boots and a shovel!
  18. Really? I didn't know Altru has a 'frostbite unit'. When was that implemented? Altru does have a wide range of specialists. Sometimes they are short a specialist or two because of retirement, the doc left, illness, vacation, etc. Many patients and/or their families elect to get treatment elsewhere; even sober ones get airlifted to different facilities. Sometimes they get airlifted to as far away as Fargo! Reasons vary from availability of a particular specialist, personal preferance for a larger city hospital, a particular physician or department, proximity to family, PRIVACY, etc.
  19. So, in other words, you don't know anymore than has been reported by the press release. You just elect to post your opinion as if it were the truth with no thought how your 'facts' will affect him, his family, teammates or friends. Nice going. By the way, many sober people going about their activities of daily living outside, dressed appropriately for the weather, get frost bite. This is fact.
