When Charles Murphy was on ont Board of Higher Education, he publically supported the Fighting Sioux name and logo even though he was against it before that time. This is a man who speaks out of both sides of his mouth. How is anyone suppose to know where he stands on issues when his opinion's change with the wind?
Started looking for rooms in Tampa and I'm more than a little p o'd. A room near the arena that costs $119./night today is going for over $300./night over the F4 timeframe! The other hotels in the same general vicinity have all jacked up their prices to twice or more as well. I'm all for making a profit but that's ridiculous! What a rip off!! For those prices, I can stay farther away, rent a car and still not spend as much money. But, I love being walking distance from all the F4 activities......
I think the attendance will be ok. When it was announced that the F4 was going to be held at Ford Field in Detroit, there were a lot of naysayers who believed the attendance would be small. It actually had an attendance of almost 40,000. Anaheim another least likely spot for a F4 also had respectable numbers; well over 39,000.
Little fender bender in April wasn't so little. My non-healing sore thumb needs surgery to pin back the torn ulnar collateral ligament. Six weeks out, no assignment to Massechusetts. Damn...
In essence, what he's saying is, the new league is full of top-ranked hockey programs, the WCHA is full of cupcakes and SCSU can only be successful in a lower ranked league. Gotcha...
Yeah, and Minnesota's budget problems are our fault, too. There aren't enough Sioux vs Minnesota team games in the state for Fighting Sioux fans to support their economy. Now that we may not be playing as many games in Minnesota as in the past look for more severe deficit problems in Minnesota in the future.
Wow! The possible advantages for college hockey due to the Super League spinning off the WCHA (IMO) are just starting to come to light. I expect to see more positives as a result in the future. Wonder if UND will get the 'blame' for them as well?
It was only after the announcement of the new college hockey conference that UMtc has considered supporting the other MN college hockey teams. Kudos to the NCHC for making this a reality!
