  1. Well, duh. If MN plays with intensity they are as good as any team. If they're flat they're dead. They don't have the talent to play without emotion. I am not a fan of UND, but I sure as hell respect the team & its history. Pssst, only the "G" is capitalized.
  2. Yeah, I saw you had lil' shep this weekend. That always makes for an interesting* weekend. *Interesting = inconsistent, horrible, king of the marble boys, extraordinarily confused, Mr. Meathead, etc... Have a good night.
  3. The CC player got the DQ for fighting, I think because he went back after Goligoski after the intitial scrum had broken up and apperantly hit the ref. Goli got 4 - holding & roughing.
  4. I would. On the road against an excellent CC team with oustanding goaltending...I'd be very satisfied with a split. Of course I want a MN sweep, but would not be disappointed with a split.
  5. The above quote is from Charlie Walters. As someone said on POI, the street very well may be POI.
  6. Scary? I think not. It's relatively early but most Gopher fans are obviously pleased and hope the intensity can continue - and it's the high intensity level that is the biggest improvement from last season. UMD is an enigma. I haven't seen them play so I can't really comment, but from what I read it sounds like they may be 1) gripping their sticks a little tightly, 2) have the belief they can show up and win and 3) lost the heart and soul as well as their top talent last year.
  7. Future Gopher, Peter Mueller. He's an '06 commitment. I am not qualified to comment on where he rates compared to Kessel & company.
  8. Just curious as I did not see the game. When the UW d-men had the puck in their zone how did they handle pressure from the UND forwards? The Sconny D were horrible against MN (bad passes, iced it a ton, turned it over even more, etc.) and I am curious if this continued against UND. Thanks.
  9. The difference IMO: Most all Sioux fans I've met have an understanding and love of hockey at all levels - and I think this is pretty common of most MN fans too as well as UMD & some SCSU fans. Most Badger fans only have a love for the Badgers and if they happen to be playing hockey....
  10. So you're saying it's Mr. jloos now, eh?
  11. Announcers mentioned he was a former NHL ref who was out of the game for a year or so and then contacted the WCHA and expressed interest in getting back into the gam at the college level. Methinks the WCHA is fortunate to have him.
  12. Sounds like the UND players were very classy to Coach York after the game, glad to see the WCHA being represented this way. Good luck tonight against Northeastern. Although I suspect NE might be facing the wrath of one POed team.
  13. Today's TC reads/previews: Pioneer Press (you will need a password) - Focus on Ryan Potulny Star-Tribune - Focus on Briggs Star-Trib preview, including MN line combos
  14. Rumor has it Glen & Lou are firmly planted along I-94 specifically to prevent young Phil from entering the state of North Dakota.
  15. I can almost see Virg pounding his chest in pride for landing these three guys. Random notes from the Star-Tribune. Most interesting, first time since Truman was in office MN won't host UND in Mpls. BTW, one needs to register in order to read article in the Mpls fish wrap.
  16. There may be a tad bit of hyperbole here, eh?
  17. Colorado College & Alaska-Fairbanks. The Don
  18. My $0.000002 I consider UW the Gopher's biggest rival, primarily because it encompasses more than one sport and the rivalry between MN & Wisconsin extends beyond college to pro sports. The latter is probably a lame argument from the perspective of a UND fan but I think it's pretty prevalent for many MN fans. But if UW is #1 then UND is #1A.
