And of course, it's in the WCHA and NCAA bylaws that MN is automatically allocated a spot in all the above tournaments if either is played in the Twin Cities. In fact, if MN had lost to CC last year's regional (at Yost, BTW) CC was told they would have to forfeit its spot to MN. Same with MTU at the Final Five this year. Lets get real here. MN hosted the 2000 NCAA regional and was no where near being invited. They host it again in 2005 and there is no gaurentee. I'm still looking for the 2002 Broadmore banner at Maruicci because since it was played at the X MN must have won it. right? MN hosted the Final Four in 1989, 1991, & 1994 and I don't remember celebrating a national title. Hell, I think the Forks hosted the NCAA Frozen Four in '83 (?) and the local green team did not win it then. It just happens the timing has been fortunate for MN - nothing more and nothing less. As to the original idea - I like it. It seems 3 out of every 4 of the "old west" regionals were in Michigan somewhere and I'd love to see the CCHA fans whine and squirm some.

Game Coaches - From POI WPoS & Forecheck (?)

I'm on my knees (I'm sure the 25 year old Canadian Sioux hack tripped me:D) and Rodents is in front of the net. He had a great time skating at the X on Friday. Best part is I didn't fall in front of ~10K fans!

Jim - I'm 36, just a perpetual student and immature. So I suspect you were right all along... Actually, there are quite a few of us old guys on POI - Rodentrule! & WPoS are about my age and Donnie & Bladepuller are a tad older. in fact, there is a very broad age demographic on POI and I would guess less than 25% are students or of student age. But that is just a guess. It's evolved into a "clubhouse" as you say, and the main catalyst was getting together for games. This led to tailgating, meeting before games, etc; so many of us know each other personally and not just virtually.

I'll never live that one down...... Seriously, I thought you were a student.

Just a heads up - It's one ticket for two games on Friday. At least if it's the same as the 2000 regional and once you leave you cannot re-enter the arena. If you want to see the Gophers play later in the day, I would not sell the ticket.

I'll probably cheer for UND Friday. Why? 1. Ferris State (IMO) is the Makato of the CCHA. Rubes. 2. Then MN can beat UND and shut ya'll up for a while. 3. UND is not JBSU.

I thought the UMD- UND game was one of the most entertaining games I've watched in a long time. Great action and better goaltending. this afternoon's game is pretty good so far, I just hope UMD still has some legs left in the third. BTW - Jenson out, Volp in. Very few teams will outwork UMD and that is why they're "for real."
