  1. Actually that was my take on the entire thread/topic. I wonder who the dumba$$ was that started it.
  2. By now the Bruins must be wondering if they squandered their first round pick.
  3. Wow, early on a Sunday mid-summer morning and good old Slappy shows up. Either he is a closet Sioux fan or he lives in a closet. Sounds like a good topic for a poll.
  4. If you couldn't tell by now I could care less what Goofy fans think as long as they keep their thoughts and opinions on GPL. However, if their players read GPL and start believing they have it won before the season even starts that would be perfect.
  5. All you had to do was read the header and the originator to know exactly what you would be getting. Which is why I provided an appropriate and as it turns out accurate response in Post #45.
  6. If the Don doesn't keep him out of Blarneys the headline could soon read Un-Done. Boston has probably told him to return to UMTC and shape up because he is looking more and more like the Wisconsin poster boy for Bratwurst and Beer.
  7. Back on topic, Skille the good company man that he already is did his Q&A today and when asked who the best player was in last weekends Hawk camp he replied Toews.
  8. Wow it would be great to be able to watch him play on a regular basis again here in Ottawa. I noticed that the article featured the following standard description for any player who has donned the Kelly Green: "The one thing you get with Greg is a lot of intangibles," said Laidlaw. "He can play any role you want, he's got good speed, he has grit, he wins faceoffs and he's just a tremendous individual who is well respected by his teammates."
  9. A classic but I doubt it will a part of a Sioux Video anytime soon.
  10. Oh then you must mean The Bossa Nova Bossa Nova - A suave, romantic style which started in the 1950s, replacing samba as the national music. Typically, bossa nova (which means "new way" in Portuguese) is very mellow and laid-back, and very, very cool. In the early 1960s, bossa nova rhythms became popular with jazz and pop musicians in the U.S. and Europe.
  11. That someone from JBSU would initiate season predictions based on Stats wiithn the UMTC thread makes it even funnier. Tell me though, did you learn anything.
  12. I agree as it is difficult to imagine where the Mavs will get their scoring. I had a good laugh reviewing recent posts on USCHO, as some of the Goof's faithful are attempting to use straight Stats to explain how much better they will be than everyone else with all of the departures. My advice to any students who are considering a Major in Stats at UMTC is go to Holy Cross instead.
  13. Or erect a shrine in the zamboni bay. They could call it the Blarney Stone.
  14. Duncan Keith would also be a perfect example of why you shouldn't try and rush things.
  15. He is a bright kid and he has to realize that with the players that Chicago has picked up he would see alot more of Norfolk if he does sign. If he comes back to UND and puts up the big numbers he would likely be in a better position to step directly into the Hawks lineup at the end of the NCAA season. The bad news as we already knew is that Chicago is one of those teams that never lets their recruits properly develop which has hurt players like Bell and Daze in the long run.
  16. You didn't add the all important "and never return"
  17. No word on Toews returning to Chicago but according to the Black Hawks website Skille is still in town (negotiations?) and will be online for questions tomorrow (formal introduction?). With Pavelski already signed, this week could be a double whammy for Bucky.
  18. Excuse me for interrupting your little sidebar conversation about the one move wonder but could you please take it elsewhere. This thread is supposed to discuss Toews. Thanks
  19. I could never understand why it took this long for a playmaker like Genoway to get a contract. Show them what you can do kid.
  20. Despite the date of release this article appears to have been written before the Havlat trade so I would dismiss it.
  21. Sens don't need Lee anymore as they picked up two D-men in the Havlat trade, Preissing and Barinka.
  22. Another encouraging article. http://www.dailyherald.com/sports/blackhawks.asp?id=206519
  23. Toews is listed as one of the signers at the big event at the Hall of Fame, so regardless of what Chicago decided I would bet that he is in Toronto. In fact the Hawks website states that the scrimmages will continue today and tomorrow without him. I see he also scored another impressive goal in his teams 8-4 loss. http://www.hhof.com/html/newsCanadaDay.shtml
  24. They were all there yesterday and once again Skille's line dominated with Bolland. http://www.chicagoblackhawks.com/index.asp
  25. This is great news as it gives Chicago another experienced center in Smolinski. The trading of Barinka leaves a nice vacancy for Skille. And with Preissing going to Ottawa they won't need Lee.
