  1. It should go to the winner of the football game, not sure why things need to change. The trophy has historical significance that goes beyond the nickname and any new trophy just wouldn't do the rivalry justice.
  2. No our finances are mess for a number or reasons, Chapman played a part in it but the state of ND is also liable.
  3. They do, I'm not making it up. That is including the spring. You do realize last season went from August to January.
  4. NDSU has like 40 practices in the dome a year, I'm sure there have been a few conflicts but the NDSU football program pretty much gets what it wants. The contract between the school and the dome spells out a certain number of days NDSU can use the dome, I think it even allows for practice time for the softball and baseball teams. Plus it isn't like we practice on just grass outside, we have a sprinturf field. Not sure spending an additional $5 million for an indoor football facility is worth it, especially when that $5 million is needed for the BSA.
  5. I don't think the MVC has set their schedules that far in advance, plus USD is now a conference member so we only have two games scheduled(Montana at home and Iowa State on the road). That said I'd look for NDSU-UND to start in 2015.
  6. Yeah it is pretty short sighted to not build an indoor football practice facility when the Fargodome is sitting right across the street.....
  7. I know tons of NDSU fans, the group of people you are talking about is a very tiny segment of the voting population. Some of you have been reading too much Bisonville.
  8. Yes but that isn't their intent in voting "yes", these people I'm talking about are NDSU supporters who like UND hockey(yes I know plenty of them). I still don't think these people quite grasp just what this all means for the university and the entire athletic department, they just aren't that involved with anything associated with UND outside of hockey.
  9. I don't listen to McFeely's show...With that said I think he is in the vast minority of voters.
  10. Where is this big movement from NDSU supporters? All of the NDSU supporters I know that would vote "yes" wouldn't be doing it to hurt UND, they'd be doing it because they think the NCAA is wrong and want UND to keep the name. Those are the minds UND needs to change. I don't know a single NDSU fan that is planning to vote for this to hurt UND.
  11. The NCAA has a pretty clear policy on Native American nicknames and nowhere does it say that an entire state will be punished because of one school. The whole thing is designed to punish schools that are not in compliance, not states. Also the SC ban allows for any NCAA postseason game that was earned on merit to still take place in SC. Only predetermined tournaments(like NCAA basketball regionals) are banned. I really doubt the NCAA would be interested in placing the kind of sanctions on ND schools that have been talked about, specifically postseason games earned on merit.
  12. I wouldn't worry about NDSU supporters, this vote will pass or fail based on what UND supporters do.
  13. I'm not concerned about NDSU being punished at all because NDSU is in full compliance with the NCAA's nickname policies. The NCAA is only interested in punishing schools that aren't in compliance with its policies. The only thing that has been happening with this legislation and statewide votes is UND cementing its non-compliance.
  14. Just stop with this nonsense about MS and SC, you are just making a fool out of yourself. The State of ND and the NCAA have a settlement and nowhere in that settlement is the NCAA given the authority to punish other ND schools if UND is not compliance with it. You are comparing apples to oranges. If they punished other ND schools because UND is not in compliance with their policies and the settlement, the NCAA would be sued and the NCAA would lose. But if the state of ND passes a law adopting UND's logo as the state flag you might have a point.
  15. The state of ND and the NCAA have a settlement, nowhere in that settlement is there anything about other ND schools being punished because UND isn't in compliance. The only way the NCAA could punish other ND schools if if they are violating their Native American nickname policies.
  16. http://www.valleynew...redirected=true Lack of control, I don't want to listen about the flip-flopping UND coaches and suppporters that started this mess and gave Carlson and the legislature the political motivation to do this and get away with it.
  17. Nope this is your mess. It isn't NDSU's or Mary's fault that UND's coaches and alumni have a long established track record of not acting in their own school's best interest. A few Bison fans may vote for this but they never would have had the chance if it wasn't for UND's very own supporters. Our "representatives" never would have taken it upon themselves if it wasn't for UND's very own supporters. This notion that the entire state should suffer because of UND's lack of control is completely ridiculous.
  18. The Summit League is pretty bad, only half of the conference is in some kind of postseason tournament and the league has an RPI right between the CAA and MAC. Yep it's pretty pathetic, I'm sure the committee that spends hours upon hours of watching basketball just put ORU in the last four out for kicks.
  19. Yep it was completely ridiculous... http://www.nj.com/se...aa_tournam.html Yep the talk of ORU making the field was complete lunacy..... http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/ncaab-the-dagger/drexel-headlines-list-biggest-ncaa-tournament-snubs-235101188.html
  20. Well its the Twins, Wild, Wolves and Gopher hockey(whatever games that are not on BTN), that said there is FSN plus now.
  21. I am fine with it, I would prefer NBC ND and FCS/Comcast which happened a few times last year. The ultimate goal however is more games on Fox Sports North but NBC ND does hammer our core area of support with easy to find TV games.
  22. I'm just fine with NDSU being on every TV in ND plus parts of SD and MN. It feeds our target market with easy to find TV games, nobody has to worry about finding this obscure channel or getting the right expanded TV package from their cable or satellite provider. Of course in an ideal world we get the games on both NBC and FCS or Comcast(which happened a few times last year).
  23. Because he didn't want to play 4 home games in 2007.
  24. Money is just one reason I want don't want to play UND....I also want NDSU to play Montana and Montana State...if NDSU schedules UND every year those games don't ever happen. If the FCS adds a 12th game or our two schools go FBS than I will be all for an annual game.
