I'd like to see the Sioux get the #1 ranking in DII first.

I thought they'd have a better season also, although a big part if it probably is that their schedule is absolutely brutal. Currently, 7 of the opponents on their schedule are ranked in the Top 25 Poll nationally. 3 of them are NCC teams (Duluth is #3 in the nation) so they have to face each of them twice. Plus there is also South Dakota who got votes in that latest poll.

Jossy Bergen will get it done! Kimbrough will be the player of the year in the NCC this year.

I wonder if in the future (transition-hell crappy schedule years), UNO would reconsider and send their football team to GF once or twice if the UND hockey team made a trip to Omaha?

IIRC, Lenhertz played pretty well in limited duty a few games last season. His game against Bemidji State seems to stick in my mind. Going by the roster posted this year and the one in last year's media guide, he's dropped about 25 pounds over the summer. Didn't he and Youmens also get into it over something, resulting in the both of them being suspended for several games?

They must have just updated the roster this week, because he was on it earlier in the week. They now have updated player bios too. They've also added another assistant coach to the staff.

When Tibesar left and "co-defensive coordinators" were announced, I thought that was kinda funny (not funny ha-ha, funny peculiar). I don't mean any disrespect to either Mannasau or Kelling, but the way that Lennon has delegated coaching duties regarding the defense over the last two years has been at least a bit unorthodox hasn't it? I mean you have one faction of defensive players answering to Mannasau and another faction to Kelling. If UND had a good defense, I wouldn't question it. But over the last two years, I've been watching what I feel are two of the worst Sioux defenses that I can remember. Am I way off base hear or what?

Our defense needs new brakes, they can't stop anything. And that has been going on all year. Lennon's 3-4 defense was originally designed and installed to stop the veer. So why over the past 5 years has our D struggled the most against the one NCC team that still runs the option? Obviously, I know it is becaus UNO is a very good team, but I had hoped we would have a little better showing against a running team, since they've showed very little positive against all the pass heavy teams we've played. Freund was rattled by the pressure. That affected his throws, decision-making, and clock management. Some of that is on the O-line, which wasn't helped by the injury to Bauer, and now Muscha. That probably did little to help the running game as well. The better team won today. I hope we get another shot at them.

Yeah that surprised me, it looked like it was about as full as I've seen the place.

Unfortunately, I will not. Started harvesting sunflowers today. But will be sending my very loud sister-in-law with my wife! Officially, it was actually the 2001 Sioux-Bison game with 13,500. (The "original" capacity of the Alerus )

On a somewhat related note, I just heard on KNOX that they're now doing a sports show on Monday nights from 6:00 to 8:00. Hopefully a decent alternative for those of us that live outside the GF city limits and can't get 1440, which has apparently become the flagship for UND sports, with its booming 12 mile range.

The Alerus has 12,283 seats, not including the Suites.

Or, if anyone is interested, I would trade two Saturday, November 3 Colorado College tix (Sec. 103, Row P, Seats 15 & 16) and two Saturday, December 8 Gopher tix (Sec 302, Row G, Seats 15 & 16) in exchange for 4 tickets together in the lower bowl for the Saturday Colorado College game. jci@invisimax.com

I agree. I just think when UMTC makes announcements like this, it makes them look really silly.

Why is it only on 1440 now? I used to be able to pick-up 96.1 over 100 miles from GF. Not to mention you could listen on 96.1 website stream. They do realize that there are fans living beyond Thompson don't they, which is the range of 1440 at night?
