  1. ..off the faceoff, oshie pushed the puck through the other centers legs, walked around him, and beat the diving goalie to the puck...........(insert in front of the rest of your post and it's pretty accurate)
  2. it was nice to hear vandevelde's name every 20 seconds along with the goalies. closed circuit to jloos, what's up with little cuz missing the wide open net-talk to him. sioux recruits are having an excellent tourny and it's really fun to watch, can't wait until next year
  3. Final score, warroad 4 st thomas 0 warroad dominated the game offensively and defensively and really set a physical tone to the game early. they are going to win this tourney and it's not even close.
  4. TSN report from last night. congrats to the goophs. hopefully when he gets there he doesn't have any classes with any of the hotties the U of M has to offer. being a stud like that and following your girlfriend around can be a bad thing.
  5. is there anywhere on the www that someone might know of that is carrying the games so a guy could listen online? any info would be very much appreciated
  6. i remember watching him in the state tournament in 96 and thinking he was a fat lazy puck hog. He wouldn't come into his own zone to get the puck, i remember him sitting out by the red line suck-holing, not going into the corners in the offensive zone, but just sick with the puck. I don't remember him being a standout for the gophers. I'm not going to say he had a terrible college career, but for all the hype he got, he definately wasn't the go to gopher at any point in his 4 yrs.
  7. i actually didn't think the arena was all that bad. The seats suck with no back, but, you just stand up for a second during a whistle and intermissions and you'll be fine. The wife and I went and saw St. clown and mich tech play and it was really good atmosphere. the crowd was in it the whole game and (since they both suck) it was up and down action. We actually saw one of the flukiest goals possible, Colin Murphy took a rip from the blueline, missed over the net, puck hit the boards, bounced back, hit boron?? in the back and went in. The arena reminded me a lot of the high school rinks around the area. If you are a spoiled bitch, you won't like it, if you love hockey and don't care, you won't notice anything but the game.
  8. I was thinking of you and runnnin when i put duluth in there . i also wanted a little bit of hope that if UND beats them in the first round of the playoffs, and if they got any votes, that UND beat a team that some people think could content for the national championship.
  9. was it wrong of me to walk into the state high school hockey tournament championship game on saturday night and wish that the college team i love had the same kind of fan support. even though the upper deck was empty, during the game you weren't able to carry on a conversation. I LOVE THAT. I was dissapointed with the fans also on sunday afternoon. I understand the reasons but if you stick 10000 people in an area that size, it should be loud. I coulda carried on a convo with someone three sections over and had the attention of everyone within said sections.
  10. I know there is still one week left in the regular season and there is the tourney still left, but who from the WCHA do we think is going to win the frozen four, and if not WCHA, what conference is going to win it. just curious who everyone else thinks has a chance. i went homer on the bit.
  11. i honestly don't have a problem with sagisaurass. i think he does a good job of color during the sioux badger games. obviously he's no sweeny but i would rather listen to him than woog and mazzocco or the guys from the junior college in st cloud. but like most of you, i will be listening to the radio while cheering for a drive-by on robbie.
  12. i can say that i don't miss the NHL so much as i miss being able to watch something other than basketball on ESPN. The NHL is boring to watch, and it's my opinion that if they made the game more like the college game (2line pass, no touch icing, things of that nature) that it would be more entertaining to watch. the playoffs are the only time of year where guys like me watch religiously, because there is more of a story to follow. who cares about the NY Islanders v. Carolina in november. now who cares about the same two teams in the second round of the playoffs in may. just my thoughts on it, change the game and it will recover, leave it as is and it'll be referred to as the defunct-NHL. sidenote: Major League Baseball suffered a great deal after the strike. Most of you must not recall the 6,000 attendance games all around the league. It gradually started to gain fans, but it definately took some ass kissing from the teams and players and owners to get the fans interested again, finally coming to a head in 98 with Sosa and Mac with the homerun race. Baseball has been strong since then and hopefully it will continue to gain strength. GO SIOUX, GO TWINS!!!! (fantasy baseball starts today )
  13. i would be heartbroken if they ever changed the logo, because like the guy in the motorized wheelchair at all the hockey games, our tatoo's would be all for not. (for those that don't know, his tatoo is of the new logo on his forearm, mine is the same, but on the back of my neck) i would cry
  14. i understand that in a league as competitive as the WCHA, teams are good, top to bottom, but these should not happen to a team on it's way to the frozen four, much less NCAA championship. I understand that the pigeon will s&!t on your head every now and then, but minnesota state should not put up a six spot on you.
  15. A- they have their own f-ing arena to play in, play there. A- they need waaaaaayy more of them, they need to be hot, and they need to be cheerleaders, not dance team
  16. judging on atmosphere, that's a pretty sketchie comment!!! I know alot of fans are true hockey lovers, but the corporate BS overrides that soo much that it makes it tuff.
  17. i don't know if anyone else caught this but i did. I watched the gopher-aa game on saturday night on FSN and after the gophers scored their fourth goal, wooger, in his extreme bias-said that (paraphrasing) 'and Lucia is clapping, looking at his players as if he knows the game is over. Alaska is going to have a tuff time coming back from a 2 goal deficit'. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!! of course that's not word for word, but something to that effect. anyone else catch that??
