  1. hopefully you aren't being serious. but if you are, it's because we aren't all closed minded jerkoff's. you don't have to read every post of every thread if you don't want too. that's a liberty you have on here. now that you know this thread isn't for you, you don't have to click on it to read what's going on.
  2. i have several pictures from the canada sweden game i could email you if you would like. they aren't spectacular, but they are pretty good
  3. crappy lovefest songs gotta go, tv timeout's should not be allowed, tv should break when they can, it should not be allowed to affect the flow of a game, and snooty fans need to stay home and not wreck it for the rest of us.
  4. what service do you have that allows you to get TSN, does anyone know if midcontinent digital cable can get that?? whether it be a special order channel or whatever
  5. i agree 100% with you. remember how at the old ralph, 4000 people were loud, you didn't get in trouble for standing, and you could be an active fan. now if you are like that, jane and judy noseintheair go get security and tattle on you for standing up and blocking their conversation. i beg of sioux fans to go to the game, throw professional image out the window, bring a kid, and watch the game like a canadian. i was at that game yesterday afternoon, and that was one of the best games i've seen in a long while. those were also some of the best fans i've seen in a long while. go USA!!! go SIOUX!!!
  6. thanks boys and girls. i went to the game last night with belarus and switzerland, but i did not notice anyone using camera's. thanks for the info, this afternoons game will go great with my sports photo collection.
  7. I know there is no such thing as a stupid question, only stupid people, but, you are allowed to take pictures at the games, correct???
  8. no offense to dave mathews band, but there is nothing about that music that says "let's get it up boys, whaddya say boys!!" they need to have the godsmacks, disturbed, welcome to the jungle, as loud as the can. as a former athlete, there is absolutely nothing that can get you jacked up with a rush of adrenaline like a badass tune at the peak of breaking your eardrums.
  9. the only ice time sydney will ever see at englestad will be within the next couple of weeks for the juniors. i asked coach blais about crosby last year. flat out told me the kid couldn't come because he went the major junior route. yes it would be nice to see the "next gretzky" play for the greatest college hockey team in the land, horse's mouth said no, you all (or most of you) hold blais at the highest of pedestal's as far as hockey minds go, as do i, along with the post earlier of the major junior rules,, the kids not coming
  10. his dad obviously tought him at a young age the beauty of a soccer mom.
  11. karl was a good goalie, he was always in the right position to see and stop the shot. he benefitted from having solid defensemen and good backchecking forwards playing in front of him. I recall them (announcers) making a point of calling out how many blocked shots UND had, and more often than not, they outnumbered saves. Adam hauser was a s&!t goalie on a highly offensive team, he was allowed to give up 5 a game cuz they would score 6 for him. (josh seimbeda/andy kollar-esk once he became the starter). i'm not a gophers fan in the least, but briggs isn't that bad, but he's not a good goalie either, he has a better defensive team in front of him this year and he is going to benefit from that for the rest of his college days, and as long as the gophers put up 5 a night, they are going to be the cream of the crop for a couple more years. UND rocks, Gophers and Badgers suck ass, and hopefully for our sake, Phil and Jpar can backstop this team to a championship because the goal scoring isn't there yet, and if it doesn't show up, we'll need all the help we can get to be able to win the 2-1 games
  12. oh no, i'm not of the anti sioux radio crowd, i would rather listen to tim cuz he calls a way better game than sweeny (or johnny B and Hale), but when he's on the road, by himself, and has to fill the extra color comm. time himself, that's tuff to listen too, it would be tuff to listen to with anyone, but when he gets on a rant about the officials or anything along those lines, its hard to not get curious about what sweeny has to say. worst all time, mazzaco and woog. hands down st cloud radio, distant second
  13. you don't have to listen to sweeny, at least not in the gf area, you could listen to the homer of all homers talk to himself on the radio.
  14. two years ago i had the opportunity to take my dad to a game at the new ralph. i believe it was against st. cloud, the sioux won the game. my dad had been taking me to the games at the old ralph since i was 4 (now 26). my dad is a die hard sioux hockey fan, but doesn't have the opportunity to go to games all that often. after the game, i was jacked up, sioux won, it was a good game. we got back to the car, and i turned and asked him, "so what'd ya think?" he looks at me and says "thanks, but i coulda stayed home and watched that on tv and felt more atmosphere. i appreciate the gesture, but until they go back to the old barn, i probably won't go again" that's when i realized how horsesh!t the "new" hockey fan is. while i was watching the game, my dad was watching all the rich and famous of grand forks B S ing with each other during the game. all the wives sitting in their plush leather seats talking to each other about how special they feel that their husband had the hook up on some seats to "The Ralph". i agree with whoever said, leave the lower bowl for the students and die hards, put the uppity biotches in the upper deck, and let's get some god damn college hockey atmosphere back into the grandest stage in the land. the "new" sioux fans suck and even though their contributions are appreciated, give up your tickets if you don't want to go and cheer, leave the bull$%!# for mon-fri 8-5. all in favor of the old ralph...........
  15. i'm gonna knock down the bandwagon for a second, i'm going back to 96 and gonna drop Teeder Wynne on you all. he was the shifty lefty that wasn't afraid to muck it up a little bit and let pivetz and rappana come in and clean it up for him. also from that team, darcy mitani. i know it's not 2000-present, but couldn't resist droppin those two names.
  16. poncho is tuff, kind of a meat head sometimes, but all in all, he's pretty tuff
  17. thank you for the info, that makes sense, but i agree with us and umd being natural rivals, also with kicking tech and uaa out, they both can go ccha, there's little competition there anyways (michigan excl.)
  18. a true sioux fan could make up just about anything the make fun of the rats down there in dinky town
  19. i guess i was unaware of that. is the donny lucia thing for real or is that a pot shot?? just curious. i guess i'm not up to speed on the inner workings of scheduling, i was under the assumption that the WCHA would recognize some of the bigger series in the league, there are some series where it doesn't matter how good the teams are, you just don't know who's coming away with how many points, they are that intense of rivalry. thanks for droppin the knowledge on my uneducated bit.
  20. Then explain why UND only plays the gophers once this year, and the second weekend of wcha play on top of that. there isn't a bigger rivalry in the wcha than sioux-goooffer and every fan that knows anything about hockey will testify to that (wisc-goof a close second). if denver and cc play each other four times every year there is a different explanation than main rivalry. correct me if i'm wrong, but UND hasn't even played wisconsin 4 times a year (with this year being the exception) in quite some time, i might be wrong about that, but i remember they played one weekend and it alternated home sites for a number of years in a row.
  21. to keep this thought going, you also have to take into account which of the better teams win the games they are supposed to against the UAA's the Techs, and St. Clouds of the league. splitting a series, UND vs. um is a good series, splitting a UND vs. tech is throwing away 2 points and making it that much tougher to be at the top. another big factor is when UND plays a high caliber team, even if it is only the one weekend series, is where they play it. that's what's unfair about the unbalanced schedule. U of M could have the worst record and UND could have the best record in the league and stilll get swept by the goooofers in mariucci.
